Re: Can i get wallet.aes.json from Wallet identifer? Lost password
by

If they have the wallet identifier, you can use BTCrecover to get the wallet.aes.json using a script to download it, and then use btcrecover as well to brute-force the password using the 90% of the password they know.

BTCrecover (original)
https://github.com/gurnec/btcrecover

BTCrecover fork using Python 3 instead of Pyhon 2 that the original one uses, i have been using recently, seems to have some additional blockchain.com support.
https://github.com/3rdIteration/btcrecover

The script to extract the wallet file, is in the extract-scripts folder called download-blockchain-wallet.py and then use the btcrecover.py to actually password-guess the file.

If you need any help installing/setting up the program, let me know and i will give you a hand best i can but if you follow the readme you may have some success.

Re: Is this recoverable ?

First of all, from my past experience most likely Blockchain will never help in your case. Usually, they even don't help those who have a normal issue, regarding password recovery, they don't have these features. Anyway, if you have a wallet identifier and email address then still there is hope for you. I am assuming you have access to your blockchain wallet. You may download it by a command. Then brute forces your password by BTC to recover. See the below video to see the processor, hope you will find a solution.
Here is the video: Brute force blockchain wallet by btcrecover.

This video for learning purposes, as far as I know, that guy makes the true video. Just try it yourself, don't trust any third party. Most likely many scammers would PM you to recover your wallet. Don't hand over your wallet credentials to scammers. Ask them to discuss everything here on this thread.

Otherwise, if you think the process is complicated, then you may hire this person, Bitcoin Wallet Recovery Services - for forgotten wallet password. He is looking trusted on the forum and has a few positive reviews. But still, I will encourage you to decrypt it by yourself which is safer.
@Coolcryptovator really thankful for your kind tips and this video its really helpful now first I am in contact with (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=240779.0) them hopefully they will check and give any reply about this and yes I already have 4 messages about recovery I check these guys mostly have negative feedbacks for their work now I will also try myself hopefully I will learn something good in this all process.

They probably have negative feedback because they are trying to scam you especially via private messages, would be my guess. If you have not had any success recovering from blockchains support, as a last resort as others have mentioned using btcrecover, if you have your wallet identifier guid and an idea of what your password should be then you can use it to get your wallet.aes.json file and try and brute force it.  There are also ways to extract just the part of the wallet.aes.json that is needed to crack only the password (keeping your wallet/funds safe essentially), and getting others to help with the brutceforcing part if that is too complicated to setup a good tokenfile for you.

If you find that you are at that point where you need to get btcrecover running, and the funds are worth recovering, but seem to be stuck then send a reply back in this thread and I can try and help walking you through getting the program up and running on your computer.

Are you very technical?

I am not 100% sure, but it looks like you may be able to setup an install on linux an old version of blockchain that is hosted on github, it looks like it supports logging in using your alias and password to load you wallet.

https://github.com/blockchain/unused-My-Wallet

I installed a copy on ubuntu but didnt have time to get by some https errors i was having, but from what i can tell there is a could chance it could work.

If you are not technical, then whoever helps you could certainly run away with all of your coins.

I was going to PM you but it appears as though you blocked newbie accounts.  I had a bitcointalk account back in 2014 but it was locked after a breach and i just tried to get it re-activated today.

Sorry i must have missed that quote, i just want to make sure that people aware that it is indeed sketchy

May have drowned in between other stuff in here.
I figured this out over a year ago and for a while I have used the multiplier exclusively between midnight and 1am, which was just enough for 3,000 daily rolls and 700 bonus tokens.
But at some point I figured 7 cents a day just isn't worth it, meaning I haven't used the multiplier in the last 3 months or so.
I can't promise you whether or not the time of midnight - 1am is still valid today, might be different times now or they might even have totally eliminated "fair" times, I just don't care anymore.

Yeah, i found another way to get about 10,000 sats/day with no work so i am ok with not doing the multiplier as well Smiley .

What are the odds of that, loosing 1185 tokens in 3000 flips, better yet even over the entire 10,000 sample!?!?!?

I wasn't referring to the multiplier at Coinpot when I explained what provably fair means.
Coinpot obviously is cheating there, not exactly sure how, but provably.

I pointed this out a few times in ther past in here, it's a matter of time of the day, where I'm not absolutely sure about which are the "right" times, where the multiplier switches between the actual provably fair algo and the cheat.
I.e. between midnight and 1am (server time) you'll get "fair" rolls and PRECISELY at 1am it switches to some other algo that seems to have roughly 15% house edge, meaning you roll 35% wins and 65% losses and you'll lose on average 30% of your money.

Sorry i must have missed that quote, i just want to make sure that people aware that it is indeed sketchy

I would like to know if their "provably fair" mechanic is actually NOT fair, but just too technical for the layman to understand or actually prove.

I believe a lot of users misunderstand the meaning of "provably fair".
It does NOT mean a guarantee to win, it does NOT even mean a guarantee not to lose.

If I make a lottery where I announce ZERO winchance and then I make a random generator that rolls 100% losses, that's still "provably fair" because I can prove that it gives EXACTLY the winchances announced in the rules.

I understand that it is gambling, however its 0% house edge, so they say. Also i ran 10,000 of my 30,000 1 token auto rolls today, my first 7000 i was -100, which seems about right and understandable. I came back 3000 or so rolls later, to being - 1285 tokens, so in 3000 rolls i lost 1185 tokens? What are the odds of that, loosing 1185 tokens in 3000 flips, better yet even over the entire 10,000 sample!?!?!?

People are right, either the site is glitching or they intentionally leeching tokens back in via multiplier to try and cover their losses.

For all Coinpot users: Again, multiplier seems to be a scam so don't play it.

Tested again last 5 days with this config:

- 5 distributed computers with 100k autoroll each one and different IP
- Different multiplier combinations: always higher, always lower, always alternate, alternate when win, alternate when lose
- RESULT: More than 300 tokens lost IN EACH WINDOW! AND EVERY DAY!!

To be honest, this situations do not happen every week... but... the reverse positive situation NEVER HAPPENS!

So be very carefull when playing multiplier... you should NEVER DEPOSIT crypto on websites like this.

You can still claim the faucets but I don't because of the ridiculous quantities...
So I reveal the trick to block the adds if you don't wanna see them anymore and still being able to claim the faucets.
Add this line to your hosts configuration:

Code:
127.0.0.1 coinad.com cointraffic.co cointraffic.io apps6.cointraffic.io mellowads.com ad.bitmedia.io request-global.czilladx.com ltc.blockr.io

(in Windows systems the hosts configuration should be at C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc and file "hosts" <-- edit it as administrator and add the previous line)

and this way you are able to claim the faucets but without almost any add.
Yeah, the last few days i have been loosing in multiplier hand over first, like 300+ in a 1500-2000 roll, multiple times, nothing even close to be in the realm of reasonable for the odds of it happening.  On top of that i am not receiving my tokens for completing challenges, certainly be careful!

Its certainly pumping up after that, almost 10% already. i actually just got some at 11000, its p to 12200 now.

From the news, i think its quite significant to have such a large community collaborate, after all that coin is meant to be easy for .net/c# is it not? I am still new so i only read a little bit of the details on the coin

what kind of announcement are you expecting?

do you think that "exchanging 300-350BTC of CAT on yobit" is good???

It was most likely one or some of the ICO investers cashing out would be my guess so its not really good or bad as it didnt really "dump" on the market, as there is not enough liquidity to exchange that kind of coin on the exchanged right now. I like the concept of the coin but its certainly has a lack of news/hype considering it said it sold the ICO in 30 seconds? lol

Any estimate what the actual float is? According to CoinMarketCap the supply is almost 30 million coins, but as iCoin is such an old coin that it was almost worthless at some point after the original dev team left, I suspect many people simply lost their wallets and a huge number of coins is now forever lost.

Right now it's still quite feasible to accumulate a 50k to 100k coin stash with a little effort, but the supply is drying up slowly but surely. I'd imagine soon 100k coins will make someone a whale.

Btw, nice trend on the 30 day chart:
https://yobit.net/en/trade/ICN/BTC#1M
http://oi65.tinypic.com/rs9180.jpg

I indeed did loose my 35k coins, and i am still looking for them to this day, as its probably on some obscure flash drive, probably underneath a pile of laundry or dresser in one of the kids rooms lol.

i have 3 flash drives that they might be on, that i cannot find. i found about 8 of the ones i knew of but they were not on any of those. My luck they lost it at school.

Is it true that JAXX accepted CAT?

I can download CAT wallet in JAXX. Is it happen to anyone else?

Thanks
Where did you see this information? I think in this case the price should rise significantly

yes, do you have source for this? or perhaps received a newsletter from team regarding this matter? cause i have checked my email and did not received info about this. hope you can give us your source so we can all verify that.

Their twitter account posted the Jaxx update,

as for updates i think they post some on medium, not sure if that is their official means of updates but it appears to be.

Edit 1:
Jaxx also retweeted it, https://twitter.com/jaxx_io/status/954352259793432577

Also, for those interested, their medium is here https://medium.com/@BitClave

I do agree there has certainly been a slow down in information, but with a new exchange and Jaxx integration i would say they are far from abandoning the project?

Edit 2:

I noticed that about 300-350BTC of CAT was exchanged is the last few days on yobit (without changing the price), if someone used it as an "escrow" for exchange of such as large sum, then that is a ton of tokens lol

Yeah never had problems with yobit, lately it's a bit slow as I imagine is every exchange now when the crypto boom is bringing in thousands of new users every day.

Yeah, anytime i have heard people have issues its usually not BTC related, i just deposited a small fraction of my BTC on there to test it out, and it confirmed after 2 confirmations and is in my account.

I scanned pc's, external drives, flash drives, etc, to try and recover my wallet with the 35,000 ICN but no luck Sad, those coins will be lost forever!

Yeah, and the original value of the #30 was 1 BTC, where it was taken back by the company, however someone sent 0.01 BTC to it. So if that 0.01 BTC is worth it to you go nuts. I do suspect it is VERY difficult if it had a prize 20x larger than the rest.

Or if you like the challenge thats another reason to try. The video is still on YouTube under another user if you do a google search,  that is how i researched for number 1. but it doesn't have the 2nd video they released (the updated version)

The public address of 30 is above there. I tried many things, it is believed to be "hidden in the BTC White paper"

A few clues that answers arent there for are:
 - IID that flashed on the screen
 - DID YOU SEE THIS x7
 - Dmitri holding the Whitepaper.

However, aside from 30 they are all claimed anyways. If 0.01 BTC is tempting you could always try and solve it lol. it was 1BTC so probably fairly difficult.

Edit: Also, i see that 1M4An8Ryf7ovsvTLiZKCV3zYt8H9p6F16h (2784623964023 2784623964023) was originally sent 0.25 BTC as you mentioned, so it would make sense it was all a mix up from 0.25 instead of 0.025, and the video having the wrong number in it. Either way it was 3-4 hours where they shuffled the BTC around.

The site updated the total BTC by querying the address to a blockchain website, so if they had been moving stuff but not updating the wallet on the contest page it would explain it not making sense

I just wanted to post to let all you folks who spent alot of hours trying to figure this out, so sorry for the Necro post:

In the end, i figured out the answer to #1 (0.025 BTC). After trying many difficult and overly complicated answers, and based on all of the other answers it seemed like it should be more straight forward, i thought back to the change from 5 to 2 in the 2nd video that was posted on here, so i tried some things, then i noticed 2 things:

5-2 = 3
and 5784623964023, if you think of it of 5 to 2, then its either 578462 or 578462396402.  578462396402 (also, removing the 3) would mean a typo, which have been made clear that a few were made in the Brainwallets. So, in the end, the brain wallet was:

5784623964023 578462396402

I was shocked when i got it!

Who knows what the other unsolved ones are, but that is irrelevant now. I suppose there is 0.01 in #30, which i think most people said is Satoshis white paper, although there is no real clues as to what it might be aside from that.

Also, i noticed the contest website now goes to a 502.

Network hash right now is at 450 MH/s and most new cards only do a few MH/s, so probably not unfortunately as there are no running pools that i am aware of. Its a Scrypt coin so there are specialized units for it.
