Just use LR3.  No changes needed to your miner and you'll be up and running tonight.

With last week's big rental income, I've now fully ROI'd my Antminers and PSU.  Unfortunately, since my MIL is coming tonight and moving into the room where the units live (and where power is included in my rent), I may be going idle for a while. 

Free power is nice.  The fun thing is learning that even with my 1KW PSU running full bore, my usage is still less than the average usage in my building.

If you're currently renting your rig, be aware of the NiceHash/WestHash SHA256 buyers (who are in turn serving paycoin people) - the difference in rental charges and payouts is attracting a lot of renters.  You may want to adjust your lease price.

It doesn't YO you back when you YO it.  If BITMINTED is in your contacts, you'll get a YO on the next block.

Correct, I only Yo when there's a new BTC block.  There can be up to a 15-minute delay, since I don't want to hit the API call too frequently.  To get the notifications, simply install YO, then YO me at BITMINTED and you'll be added to the list.  To unsubscribe, remove BITMINTED from your list.

Doc, if you ever decide you'd like to incorporate the feature into your core, let me know and I'l transfer the account to you.  The YO API call is a simple GET request. I currently just have it YO, though you can provide a link too if you like.

11000.66313559 DOGE was the cost of a 7 hour lease of my machines.  The machines were used by the renter, but I didn't get paid.

Am a bit concerned.  Had a renter yesterday pay in DOGE.  Should have received 11000.66313559 DOGE after 7 hours.  My rig shows rented. The pools were the other guy's.

I got nothing.

Just opened a ticket, but I've bumped my price up to discourage renting until this gets sorted out.

The shorter shifts have made renting more risky.  You have less time to get paid out on your shifts, so with long blocks, the chance of an unpaid shift goes up.  If that unpaid shift is where you spent your money renting, you get nothing.

The increase in renting has more to do with the drop in prices in the rental market than in gaming a particular pool.

The pool is Pay Per Last 10 Shifts.  Each time we find a block, you get paid your portion of the reward, based on your work over the last 10 shifts.  As a result, the most recent 10 shifts are still open for payment - when we find the next block (hopefully really soon - as I write this, we last found one 2d and 20h ago), you get paid your share based on your work over the last 10 shifts.

If we find more blocks in that 10-shift period than average, you make out like a bandit.  If we have a really long block, you will have some shifts that have 0 pay.  In the end, if your mining is constant, the luck averages out.  

If you're (like me) mining at an inconsistent rate (I rent out my miners to others and use payments in altcoins to fund buying mining power from others), you may miss out on some runs of good luck putting in a large amount of work during a shift that ultimately doesn't make anything, or you might hit a run of good luck and do really well.

I don't have an answer that makes economic sense, other than luck chasing, but it seems that last week was quite good for those leasing their mining equipment.  I have my two S3+'s running through LeaseRig (they provide what they call LR3, a proxy that lets me get some reporting for my own mining and then can instantly switch to a renter's pools with no intervention on my end) and last week we had almost every rig rented.  My 900GH kept getting picked up in 1h increments by two different renters (one kept paying in DOGE, the other in LTC) - as soon as it would come off lease, the other would pick it up. Neither stayed at the same pools for too long, I saw the pool settings change several times.

Then suddenly, it stopped and renting went back to normal.  As I look now, 25/45 of the rigs are rented out.

Doc, don't know if it's easy to add, but I like the performance chart they have.  Would be neat to have something similar when mining directly.

It would be neat if the shifts page had an xls or csv export button.

I try not to mine at 0, but occasionally do when my rig is rented out.  I'd had a rather effective strategy with the longer shifts of compensating for that by throwing a lot more effort at the pool to make up for times when I was at 0, with that extra work pulling in enough to cover the cost plus a little extra.  Now, with the shorter shifts, that's more of a gamble.  If you put a lot of work into an unlucky period, not being able to sustain it means it will go unpaid (conversely, putting in a lot of extra work just before a lucky period would be freaking awesome).

Here's an example.  We hit one block when my dance card was partially filled at 12TH.  But now, it's cleared itself and I'm back down to .9.

Not enjoying the new shift change.  With long blocks, it's too easy for a large amount of work to fall off the payable list. 

With the longer shifts, you weren't really missing out on anything - you got paid for your work. It certainly took longer to fill the full dance card, but the risk of unpaid work was quite low.

Estimated TH/hr would be a useful metric, I think, particularly if projected against other pools.

Yeah, the long shifts were actually sort of nice for me, as I lease my antminers on leaserig. When they get picked up, usually it wasn't for a full shift, so I avoided large holes, I just have a shift of lower speed than the others.  I bumped my lease price a bit to accommodate and still had someone rent for around 5 hours today, so I may move the rate up a little bit more and see what happens.
