Restarting this project, what do you think will be different this time in terms of your development that will survive this crisis and can continue your mission far and beyond? What are your activities lined up so crypto users will get involved one more time on your project?

Thanks for the good question. As far as your question of what will be different this time, we had an idea when we previously launched but the code was not actually completed from the blockchain protocol level. Now the the protocol has been completed at the block chain protocol level. That's a huge difference. There might be some further refinements of the protocol, but over all there is a working system on mainnet now.

As far as to what activities are lined up, our major next step is launching the web interface for the project. While submission of records is possible to be done from a decentralized perspective, we see value in a governance site that makes the system much easier to use. In the future, we will continue to work towards ease of use of the entire system to allow for the users to have the most seamless and easy to use experience as possible.

The governance site it will be released to masternodes / voting nodes this week. In the next two weeks it should be live for all users.

The world's first consensus-based, historical record blockchain
Immutable Records - DAO - Masternodes

Historia has restarted development and v0.17.0.2 has been released.
We had to stop development back in July 2019, but in light of what is happening in the world today, we have restarted and updated our software. We also anticipate the web application being released in the next few weeks to interface with the Historia network. - March 19, 2020

Historia Explainer Video

What is Historia?
Historia is a consensus-based, immutable historical record blockchain and masternode system designed for record keeping of current events (future history) with emphasis on absolute accuracy and seeks to prevent all assimilations of falsehoods into the historical record.

Why start the Historia project?
Events as they happen must be recorded accurately; the triumphs, the mistakes, the exceptional acts of goodwill, and global atrocities are all so important to be accurately recorded. The facts of these events must remain unmolested, as “those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” These records serve as moral and economic guidelines for humanity to advance. The ability for any one person or an entire super power government to manipulate, falsify, or delete historical accounts for any reason facilitates ignorance and hinders advancement of civilization.

Why is blockchain needed for the Historia project?
Not everything needs its own blockchain or token. For the Historia project, we wanted to crea te a consensus-based, immutable and decentralized system to hold historical records which have received a majority vote from those on the network. This makes the records unalterable, uncensorable and eliminates spam, bias, or advertisements. The only way the Historia project can achieve these goals is via the use of blockchain technologies.

How will the Historia project be funded? Is it a ICO, pre-mine, etc?
After seeing so many ICO scams, the Historia team made a conscience decision to forgo an ICO, premine, instamine, or founder’s fee. Rather, we decided to bootstrap ourselves during the research phase of this project. We are a self-funded organization.

How does voting and the governance layer work?
Voting will require running a Masternode or Voting Node. The governance layer allows for voting on both budget proposals as well as record proposals that will be locked for eternity. The budget proposals are temporary and limited in content, helping with community and network growth. The Historia team has further evolved the concept of the governance layer to allow masternodes or voting node to vote for or against budget proposals to build the network, and to record proposals to give an accurate representation of current events or future history.

Are storage nodes going to be incentivised?
Yes! Storage Nodes, aka Masternodes, verify the blockchain and store a copy of historical records that are voted on and accepted into the Historia blockchain. These nodes will be rewarded for their service to the network. Masternodes will receive 32% of the block reward. It should be noted that we fully expect this reward to increase to increase the number of masternodes in the future. It will require 5000 Historia coins to run a Masternode.

What Historia is not?
There are many repositories of data that are publicly available for content submission on the Internet, as well as other blockchain applications. Wikipedia is one application that fits this example. It should be noted that Historia is not trying to be a repository for all of human knowledge, but rather the significant cultural and historical events that are important to secure in an immutable manner for the further expansion of the human race. A major weakness the Historia team noticed in other blockchain applications that store data was the lack of incentivized nodes to truly decentralize the data. While some might think this is not a major issue, if data is centralized to an organization that is themselves decentralized, this is no better than having a database across multiple datacenters around the world. Another issue that the Historia team has seen in other blockchain applications is the ability for editors, not users, to control the content of the network. In Historia, the masternode owners control the content.

Will record submissions be incentivized?
Yes! The Historia team does not want to rely on the good nature and free time of its users to provide relevant content to the Historia blockchain. When users submit a record proposal, they also can submit a request for payment. If the masternode owners consider this to be an appropriate fee for the content submitted, as well as meeting the other guidelines such as accuracy, evidence, references, validity of content, then the submitting entity will receive payment for their work on approval. This allows for a greater accuracy in submitted content, as well as competition to submit the content quickly at a competitive and fair price. This is a network feature and payments are not based on the Historia team, company, or any future foundation. Even if the Historia team is eliminated from the equation, the network and Historia blockchain will live on to continue providing payments to both the masternode owners for hosting data, and the content submission entities.

What if an approved record is later deemed to be inaccurate?
The Historia team does understand that sometimes the public may not be privy to all evidence to make an accurate decision based on what is known about current events surrounding the record proposal in question. It is possible that the masternode owners may entirely vote yes on a false or inaccurate event. In the future, if the approved record was discovered to be false or inaccurate, Historia has devised a solution to amend the original record for content dispute and resolution. This will not change the original record, but instead maintain the integrity of the record chain. An addendum to previous records will be possible by tagging the appropriate record for addendum. It will be required to go through the same process as the original record proposal for submission since it is essentially a new record proposal.

HOWTO GUIDE: Generating New Spork Keys
by
marshalljp
on 07/05/2019, 15:05:50 UTC
Since there was so many questions on how to generate spork keys here is my guide. I can't promise everything is entirely accurate but this is what worked for me:

Some friendly links:
http://lenschulwitz.com/base58
http://www.fileformat.info/tool/hash.htm
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Wallet_import_format

Important: If you are going to change the prefixes for your coin, make sure to do that before this. Otherwise you will break things after you change prefixes

Use following command to generate ESCDA key. If final spork key is not a digit as first character of output it’s wrong from my testing.

openssl ecparam -genkey -name secp256k1 -text -noout -outform DER | xxd -p -c 1000 | sed 's/41534e31204f49443a20736563703235366b310a30740201010420/PrivKey: /' | sed 's/a00706052b8104000aa144034200/\'$'\nPubKey: /'

1 - Take a private key:
11265dcc6d5e26dbabfac9699540e38e7ca6aad8842891d3e6322ea9ab2cbb55

2. Add a 0xef byte in front of it for testnet addresses or 0x80 for mainnet addresses. If you change these bytes in the chainparams.cpp, you have to use the changed bytes here.
Mainnet: 8011265dcc6d5e26dbabfac9699540e38e7ca6aad8842891d3e6322ea9ab2cbb55
Testnet: ef11265dcc6d5e26dbabfac9699540e38e7ca6aad8842891d3e6322ea9ab2cbb55

3 - Perform SHA-256 binary hash on the extended key - I used this tool: http://www.fileformat.info/tool/hash.htm
Mainnet: 9b861c61c65dd712d4ce27949e7a277626b2d8146f07b28144177b7fb188c300

5 - Take the first 4 bytes of the second SHA-256 hash, this is the checksum
Mainnet: 1830fee6
Testnet: 12c04661

6 - Add the 4 checksum bytes from step 5 at the end of the extended key from point 2
Mainnet: 8011265dcc6d5e26dbabfac9699540e38e7ca6aad8842891d3e6322ea9ab2cbb551830fee6

Interesting idea. Looking forward to see its development.

Thanks for the encouragement. The development is actually further along than we expected at this point. The most difficult thing about this project is getting IPFS integrated properly to work with the masternode system. The good thing is that the bulk of that work is already done, and already working in masternodes on mainnet

how far are you in achieving your goal of this platform? i mean, establishing your platform to preserve the history of mankind and the world? and yes, very few people are interested in this kind of endeavor so I don't know how you can increase the value of your coin?

Hi CaVO32,

We currently have the blockchain portion of the application already completed with IPFS integration complete. The system is usable today, however currently it would require a very technical person to create a new record.  Currently we are working on the web interface to allow for a much more user friendly experience for the submission, voting, and display of records. This is were our focus is on at this point. As far as value goes, there are quite a few use cases for immutable record storage outside of the significant cultural historical records. In the future we hope to expand our use case.

I hope that answered your questions.

Hello Team,

I really love the idea, but the it appears to me the project is almost stopped.
Roadmap is old, masternodes are down, what is happening?

Hi whotheff,

Thanks for the questions. I'm not sure where you are seeing an old roadmap. http://historia.network/ has the latest roadmap. Our blog has the latest updates: http://blog.historia.network/. We are about to release a new blog post regarding technical research and development in 2019.

As far as to the masternodes being down, we are not seeing this.

Great question. We have been working on getting listed. We all want to trade, unfortunately it's not an easy process anymore, unless the project had a ICO. We are working on this, and hope it happens soon.

Hi devs!
It's all awesome! but where can we trade this coin? When do you intend to listing at any exchange? Listing at the crypto-bridge would be very nice!

What do you think will happen with Ethereum if Vitalik Buterin's death is confirmed?

This sound like a nice FUD LOL, but for the shake of the argument, I think it would increase in value because the guy will not be able to use what´s stored in his accounts, so the circulating ether will be less. He he

This year we have witnessed many scams projects that we have invest in more than others years.  I think scamming activities is high this year more than others years and I will like to find out the way out of this. Are we going to find solutions for this by developing more security projects? I think we can kick scammers from icos market and if we can not do this governments should come in and help this market.

I don't think a government cares about the scammers. We need to take care of ourselves by ourselves. The effective way of doing this is sharing your negative experience and knowledge here on this forum. This way we can inform each other about the scam projects and prevent other people from getting into that trap too.

Basically this. More people need to speak up for better or worse. Knowledge is power.

Many times I prefer to convert my rewards into ranking coins, because I don't want my efforts to be wasted, you can say that I am a timid investor!

Nothing wrong with that. The gains may be slow but they will still be gains in the end.

Today is a very good time to buy many altcoins. But do not forget that the market can be even cheaper. You should always leave some of the funds in case of a further fall in the market.

Sound advice I gave my buddies. Buy in small increments.

From the looks of it, there was a liquidation of 12bn of $ in bitcoin, that together with the announcement of a fork of bch has brought a little fud in the market, that's why the price is going down so much, and if you need advice? buy, it's a good discount and I don't think it will last in that price for a long time, so take advantage and buy.

Don't mind if I do!

Bull run is not set for every year or some accurate time. It's the market rules and I also don't support that every 3 or 4 years Crypto will pump, after 1 time pump all people will come back again 2 years!!
I think that the next growth will not look like a pump. This will be a systematic and slow growth of the market. where everyone will be buying slowly and buy a lot, and not like in 2017, in a panic

I feel that this is true, which is better actually. Slow and steady wins the race. Personally, I don't expect 20k highs for the next couple of years.

I think someone needs time until early January to receive profits because prices will increase again in 2019, I am sure of that and hopefully my predictions are not wrong, everyone will assume that the beginning of 2019 is the time the market returns to normal

I believe in what you say. I am still waiting for the rise and return of the cryptocurrencies in early 2019 in the market, I have prepared very well for that and if true to this idea, I will be profitable Grin.

Let's all hope you are right!
