Re: Determining A ShitCoin
by
masternode
on 04/11/2018, 20:40:46 UTC
For me it‘s a shitcoin if there is no real develoment, no history in achieving milestones that were outlined in the original whitepaper, and unfortunately that accounts for the large majority of altcoins. Then you have copycat projects, that do not come forward with a unique idea but that took the concept from another project. These I would not call shitcoins, but I would still stay away from them as in my experience most are just money grabs too. I am sure there are many other factors, but for me these count the most and serve as a simple compass.

I don't agree with you. The bear market is over. I think that now is we have only one road - road to the moon!;D

I agree that we are mostly bottomed out, and the risk/reward ratio if you getvin now is very much in your favour. But the current sidewards movement could go on forca few more months until we see a big catalyst propelling the prices. So it‘s far too early for an moon talk at this stage.

Re: Tactics When Market is Falling
by

One of the best tactics regarding trading in bull vs bear markets I learned from the economist Peter Schiff, I don‘t agree with his views on crypto but he still has very good ideas and trading strategies.

This one I like in particular, and very few people have heard about it, let alone actioned on it.

In a bull market you buy the dip, in a bear market you sell the rallyes.

Re: Why we will see $50k Bitcoin end of year
by

Even the most bullish analyst on crypto in the mainstream media, Ran from CNBC, had to acknowledge that 50k is no longer realistic for this year, the big catalyst Van Eck ETF has been postponed to next year and we currently do not see any other catalysts as mass adoption. Given all the progress made this is likely to change next year but not much earlier I believe.

Re: HODL is not advisable!
by
masternode
on 04/11/2018, 20:17:12 UTC
If you have a decent portfolio - hold, that's my position because market will show its power in future, you'll see. Selling everything now for pennies is not reasonable at all.
Most people do not have the patience to hold their coins anymore, they think that they will be able to make money trading or by investing for the short term but anyone that has been here for the long term knows that is not the case so all of those people that choose to sell their coins for a bad price right now are probably going to regret doing it when the market begins to recover.
Some of them might playing for a while after learning the market sway, but for sure most of investors who believes what crypto can bring to them
are still holding patiently, knowing that in any moment the market will rise back again, we should analyze well before taking any decision, short with
small gains or long with very decent earnings, but what important the most is we do play without any loses from our initial capital.
HODL is one of the most applied strategies as it helps reduce the risk of huge losses of assets. Furthermore, I think it needs proper timing and planning when to HODL, trade or invest as we also need to be on the look out on the market condition before deciding what to do next. It's better to study the market and learn on how to play the game wisely and strategically inorder to survive and be productive in the world of cryptocurrency.

Very true words, you need to learn how to play this game „strategically” as you wrote. Most people have no strategy and follow impulses. You also need a certain level of wisdom which typically comes from experience, so people need to forget these illusions to become rich overnight. It takes a lot of hard work, discipline and constantly learning/evolving and up your game.

Re: What is your future plans with altcoins?
by

Right now there is not much to plan except to hodl, at least for me. Many alts, especially low caps have lost the large amount  of their value and it is no point to sell, unless you have to in order to pay expenses.

Re: about the future of the ICO
by
masternode
on 04/11/2018, 20:05:34 UTC
Too many scam ICOs are surfacing right now. But at the same time, I have seen a few very good projects coming up, such as Mozo, Tombola, ADAB.etc. The negativity surrounding the scam ICOs have unfortunately affected the good projects as well. But they should be able to overcome this.

You can also add quarkchain, mainframe or sparkster to that list, but I also think the sheer amount of worthless or outright scammy ICOs are overshadowing the few good picks that available. I expect this ICO winter to continue until we see more quality again across the board but it probably will take a long time from here.

Re: EOS is next Ethereum
by

Although EOS community grows so huge as well as its price, it would still undergo too many hindrances and doubts. And yes it have the most possibility to be the next ETH, and as long as it still that much costly, we must buy it and sell it soon after years.

EOS is still in a premature space and therefore massively overvalued. Ethereum has the biggest mindshare right now, the most developers and there are scaling solutions in place too.

Ethereum is the next Ethereum, at least in the near and mid term future.

Re: Do you believe in Ripple?

I believe in XRP, simple because the banks are using and therefore backing it. Would I invest in the coin? Actually no, not because I think banks are evil, but there is no max supply and transparancy how many coins are created. So it‘s rather a digital fiat version of money, not crypto.

If you can‘t mine it, it is probably not a real crypto currency, and Ripple can‘t be mined.

We can almost sense that the bull market is starting to take in charge. Because as we can the market now is slowly recovering and also the prices.

It was recovering a few times this year but always stopped and we saw lower lows. It seems a lot of bag holders are selling when the prices come back to a certain level which makes it hard to break through. I still think we will see a real breakout soon.

Re: HODL is not advisable!
by

on 06/10/2018, 15:47:41 UTC
I don't think being a HODLER means that a person don't have any knowledge about trading,it shouldnt be considered as a basis to define a persons knowledge abiut trading. different person have different reasons and things they need to do that's why the prefer to hold.abd maybe others just don't have skills with it so they just decided to Hodl instead of doing trades.

Some of my friends don't know much about trading or knowledge about cryptocurrency, but they are interested in crypto and ask me if there is a chance for them to join. So I suggest to them to use some money to buy bitcoin only and focus with bitcoin, and they agree. They start in the two years ago when the price is not too high as now. After they invest, they didn't do anything and only get work in their real life, and the last year, they came to me and said that they are making a lot of profit from bitcoin and they already cash out their investment. This story means that we could be an investor and only hold bitcoin without trading and we can keep the bitcoin for a long time, and my friends already get their success. So if you want to hold, make sure you know what coin you want to hold and for how long you want to hold the coin, don't panic when something wrong happens and stays calm because, in the future, you can get the benefits of your investment.

If you go to a regular work and invest in crypto just as an additional opportunity then you make a good point, but you have more and more people that try to find alternative lifestyles and do crypto full time. For these just hodl and wait is not feasible in my view, you need to have regular earnings and by hodl you can only cash out here. But each to their own.

Re: Day trade?
by

on 06/10/2018, 15:43:15 UTC
The day-trade is one of the hardest methods to earn money in this market. Believe me, I am not a pro trader but I know how to do technical analysis and also I am following the fundamental analysis of the market. I do not recommend to anybody to day-trade. Mid-term investment is more profitable. Or just buy some bitcoin for long term

It really depends on the situation of the market, in 2017 you did best buy holding but in a bear market you will see you profits get melted away if you don't move positions frequently. The best strategy right now in my view is to tether your profits when the prices go up and buy more when they go down again. Don't even need complex analysis to do this.

The last time the CBOE launched a Bitcoin financial tool, futures, we saw $20k. Recently rising Bitcoin dominance shows people betting on the latest CBOE tool, ETF, being approved.

Bitcoin dominance is heading towards fifty percent by marketcap. What does this mean for the price and how should traders and investors view it? Marketcap is by far not the best metric to read dominance, but that doesn’t mean it can’t add value to your trading.

With upcoming Bakkt tool in november, I can see bitcoin around $30 000 at EOY, since institutions would start buying bitcoin to decrease such a volatility as it's now.

Everyone is looking at the ETFs but there are other ways for big money to enter the market, especially that is relevant for Bitcoin. The Bakkt platform is going live soon and I also see this as an inflection point where everything can turn around.

I'm pretty sure that there is no ETF that are going to be approved this year. The SEC obviously hates cryptocurrrency. Maybe we can take this moment to clean the trash projects in the community and showcase the best use of the virtual coins so next time we don't need those damn ETFs just to increase the prices again.
All the news is just the plays that are meticulously crafted, the results are always set, they give out a lot of information such as refusal and delay just to deceive the user community, and the ultimate meaning is just making money from the fear and suspicion of others. We do not need the SEC or any explanation about the use of crypto, what we need is probably the motivation of the owner behind this market, this is a prerequisite for bitcoin to achieve the dream price

We all know now that this is not going to happen anymore, rather Q1 next year. But the SEC decision is not the only potential driver of new growth in this market. The Owner of the NYSE founded a company called ICO to launch an Exchange for Institutional Investors where they can buy Bitcoin on a large quantity, it will launch on November 5 and could propel prices up.

" founding imperative for Bakkt will be to make Bitcoin a sound and secure offering for key constituents that now mostly shun it—the world’s big financial institutions. The goal is to clear the way for major money managers to offer Bitcoin mutual funds, pension funds, and ETFs, as highly regulated, mainstream investments."

There are a lot of good ICO projects in 2018. Just see at Ziquilla, Quarkchain, Gochain and any other successful projects which brought good profit to their investors.

You call 3 ICOs a lot? Name at least 10 that were successfully like Ziquilla, Quarkchain, Gochain please and I bet you will struggle with it. These were the absolute exceptions. Most investors lost 90% or more in ICOs this year.

Re: Sending in fake ID for KYC
by
masternode
on 06/10/2018, 15:23:37 UTC
Once I passed KYC. At the end of the bounty, the company announced the need for KYC, and I was sorry for the work done. Now I'm regret about that.
A fake ID for KYC is a good idea, but it’s better to refuse a few dollars and save privacy.

If i's just a bounty and not a large investment I see the point using fake IDs, especially if they change rules and require KYC at the end of the bounty. Most do this with a dark motivation anyway, speculating that a large part just won't bother with it and they keep the rewards for themself.

Re: Crypto currency back from the dead?
by

Crypto were never dead on first place. Dips like that are not unusual, and we should be prepared for them.
And we are not sure that everything is over, wait couple of days and will see if the market is heading towards recovering or not.

even Mike Novogratz have called the bottom, what do you mean by saying it is not over. I am pretty sure we will slowly and steadily move upwards from here. Now we will see other bull markets (like stocks) change into bear markets.

Re: Will every crypto coin survive?
by
masternode
on 06/10/2018, 15:14:49 UTC
I think all the coins will be able to survive and this also depends on the development team. That is expected in future coins will have a very high value. And you will not be disappointed by storing your coins as long as possible especially for coins which do not have a value. Wink Smiley

But you also know that it will not happen. As I see it, at least 30-40% of the tokens will vanish in less than 2 years. That is why it is recommended to pay attention to some stable alts like DASH and Monero.

It is likely that at the same time 100% new worthless coins are getting created during this time, so we will rather end up with more and more coins rather then less. And for newcomers it will get even harder to filter through the trash.

Re: Ethereum price speculation / reasons for current crash?
by
masternode
on 09/09/2018, 17:14:57 UTC
I also think the main reason are the ICOs dumping Ethereum, to keep their business going. Not only recent ICOs, but also projects that have been running for a while. Many have stated that during the this bear market we will see a lot of alts disappear. This is the beginning of it, projects run out of cash and have no other way than to dump their leftover Ethereum for these low prices.

I'm surprised there is all these KYC threads out here with people complaining.  The solution is so simple it hurts.  How is a corporation going to check the validity of every human on earth.  LOL  You guys are fools if your sending in actual passports.  I thought you guys were playing.  Yikes.  No wonder its so easy to make $$ in crypto.  The people that are playing may not be the smartest.  Do you know how damn risky it is to send in a real passport to these piss ant ICO's?  If your data is not safe at the top banking institution and corporations in the world why in the hell would you send your passport to a company worth well nothing at the point your sending it in. The next little Jihadist is prob going to drop your passport at the scene.

Get Ubuntu (linux) all the editing tools are free.

I think depending on you country and laws, you need to evaluate what is more risky. In some countries you go to prison if you use fake identities. On the other side I see the argument using fake IDs to protect yourself. I know someone who became a victim of identity theft and it has been a nightmare for months.
