PLEASE use the Code icon in the toolbar to post logs - looks like #. It makes things much easier to read...
As for the pools issue - if you are copy/pasting in the pool and user information make sure there are no spaces added. Quite often when doing c/p there is a space added to the end of the string and miners do not like that.

Where I have other trouble is if I try and use the FUNC button to get it into config mode, I can't access it at its default 168.168.168.168 because my router is at 168.168.1.1
Again - it is not a router address issue. You need to set the PC to use the same subnets the Avalon is on.  In that situation most routers will act as a switch and just pass data from the PC & miner through it.

Ok.  So when I press and hold the FUNC button, it should be defaulted to 168.168.168.168 on 255.255.255.0.  If I go into windows and set a static IP of 192.168.168.100 at 255.255.255.0, I lose all connectivity and cannot connect to either the internet or the miner.  The default gateway is 192.168.1.1, should that stay the same?

It did BRIEFLY work when I connected it directly to the router as opposed to through my network switch, but since then it won't connect, even when I connect directly again.

It just doesn't make any sense why DHCP won't work to connect to pools.  I suppose it could be the controller or hashboards themselves, though they all worked when it did connect, but I have 2 PSU's and it doesn't make a difference which I connect, so at least I think I can rule that out.  I suppose it could be some security setting with Verizon, but I did my best to limit that.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear.  I can login to the miner interface, BUT it will not connect to any pools.  I did get it to connect a couple times, but then if I reset it, it stops working.  the router firewall shouldn't be the issue, and from the log, it looks like it is able to ping the pool (getworks continue to increase, though I am not sure that is what that represents.)

Where I have other trouble is if I try and use the FUNC button to get it into config mode, I can't access it at its default 168.168.168.168 because my router is at 168.168.1.1.  I THINK there is a way to use routing tables to get it to work, or MAYBE to change my second router (Netgear 7900p) to have a different gateway, but we are now at the limits of my network infrastructure knowledge.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am having almost the exact same issue, but I can't seem to figure out how to access it when it is in configuration mode.  My router has a default gateway of 192.168.1.1, and if I try and set a static IP to 192.168.168.100, it does not work.  Rather I can only set up 192.168.1.100.  Either am completely disconnected if I use the 192.168.168.100 static IP, OR if I set it to something else, like 192.168.1.100, I can't access the miner at 192.168.168.168.  Well, I can't seem to access the miner regardless.

Any suggestions on what I can do?

Have you been able, or even looked into, what Bitmain did to limit speeds on the Z11e and Z11j?  I have had all three, and from what I can tell, there are the same number of chips, boards, and power, but they somehow throttle the Z11J and Z11e.  I have used eFudds firmware on them before and I can increase the frequency and squeeze a bit more out of them, but only at their throttled speeds.  Ideally, I would like to turn the Z11e into a Z11.

I am not someone who can really dig into this, but if it is software limited (Or on the chip somehow?) I would certainly pay to be able to turn a 75k sol/s Z1e into a 135k Z11...

Thoughts?

Just thought I would give you some follow up.  I updated with your firmware on 2 Z11J's, and they seem to operate at between 125K-135k sol/s, at 781mhz/920mv.  So at least for the purposes of the Z11J, it looks like they simply under clocked a regular Z11 somehow.  I actually have an option to get some Z11e at 70K sol/s for a reasonable price (relatively), and may order a couple to see if they did the same thing.  If I could get a Z11e to 125-135k sol/s I would have gotten it at nearly half price!

What is your price for licenses for say 5-10?

Thanks!

I just received my Z11J, and they operate at a bit over 110K sol/s.  I see you added functionality for the Z11J but can you shed more light on how they are throttled?  Is it less chips or is it firmware limited?  If it is firmware limited, is there a way to turn it into a fully functional Z11 at 135k sol/s?

Thanks!

2.3 and 2.3.1nh have been updated to support Z11/Z11e/Z11j.

Thank you,

Jason

Unclear, to be honest. You'd have to give it a shot and try to see what you can get out of it. Stock voltage is 870. For Z11, you have to add voltage to get more hash with an increased frequency. With e/j, that might not be the case. My sample set is too small to speak for sure... regardless, it is firmware limited in that the stock firmware attempts to automatically tune things, and generally does not do that great of a job. It also limits the max voltage as well as the max frequency within the auto-tune range.

Yeah, I have bought about 50 A9 Zmasters in the past year via Alibaba, and even orders as big as 20, my total shipping cost was about $700 (sometimes $500 if they double up the shipments), spending $3k on shipping is ridiculous, and I won't shop from them at those prices either.

One unit to the US from Inno is likely $250 plus. Each additional unit is about $100 ea.

That is insane.  How on earth do they justify that?  DHL Express is literally half that expensive.

Will they ever reduce their shipping costs to USA?  $120 PER UNIT is crazy expensive.  When I order other miners from secondary sellers, its usually less than half that.

What is the official price, or the price you guys got it at?

Since this doesn't show up on the Bitmain official website (english anyway), the supplier sold it for $1600.  The range is probably $1500-$1700 from suppliers.  Based on my experience with this particular supplier, I would guess that the official prices is about $1350-$1400 or so.  I base this off the fact that the Z11 was sold by Bitmain for $1250 on release, and the supplier sold it for $1450 the next day and NOW it is at ~$1650 since it sold out.

Where did you buy yours?

I just received one as well for a friend. Purchased it from Shenzen Apexto on Alibaba.  Earnings estimates look pretty pretty close, 107 BTM after 21 hours.  Kind of expensive, and the firmware definitely needs to be updated as it has a couple bugs, but works ok.

No overclocking option, so someone with better skills than I in linux and cgminer will need to do an updated firmware to add that capability! (unless Bitmain offers it, which I doubt)

I know this probably doesn't really belong ion this thread, but do you happen to have to ability/inclination to do something similar with the Innosilicon A9 Zmaster?  While I know the interface is significantly different, it would be nice to squeeze as much as possible out of my miners, and the fact that the A9 is way more efficient is just an added bonus.

Thanks!

I'm a miner and interested in AE.  However, I'm not easily locating alot of information.

1.  Was there an ICO?
2.  Was there a premine?
3.  How much VRAM is needed to mine it?
I don't actually know that I can mine this coin, haven't seen a statement on what hardware is needed.  Only that it will run under Ubuntu currently.

Wanted to point out according to the pool stats page posted elsewhere that one single pool has over %90 of the hashrate.  Don't want to call this thing a ****coin because I don't like use profanity but this mainnet launch is looking kinda rough so far.

I'm rather intrigued by the Cuckoo algorithm.  The only implementation I know of is in GrinCoin and it's supposedly needing over 6 GB of VRAM.  Is this using a fork or modded version of it by chance that will take less than 6 GB of VRAM?  I haven't seen any GPU requirements.  Is it a safe assumption it will run on a Quadro or Titan V?  I have seen on Discord that Cuckoo runs horribly on AMD cards but on another project unrelated to this one.

Hey,

Let me try answering your questions:
1. æternity did not do an ICO, it ran a campaign - we are currently in the second phase of migrating the AE ERC-20 token to the AE live-network token.
2. There was no pre-mining, see more here.
3. The best place to find mining (and any other kind of) information is our Forum. Find here GPU memory requirements.

The Roma Release was not an easy task and there was some power concentration for a while due to a number of factors. Initially, Windows mining was not available, nor people could mine using AMD cars. However, those problems are quickly being resolved, many mining improvements are being deployed daily and our dev team is currently preparing a binary of the Windows version of the æternity node. We are persuaded that the mining power will be fairly distributed among all participating pools very soon.

Let us know if you have more questions. Happy mining!
The AE Team

While I appreciate your parsing of the language to appease your securities counsel, It is a bit disingenuous to say you did a campaign rather than an ICO.  To answer the question correctly and without being misleading, yes, Aeternity collected funds in a fundraising effort so that they would have the capital to implement their vision, and at the time it was a fairly substantial amount of money collected over 2 separate fundraising time periods.  So for the purposes of the question, yes there was an "ICO" in the sense that the team collected money to fund the project and assuming it proceeds accordingly, participants will receive what presumably would be considered a utility token.

Whether or not it passes the Howey test is something that you most likely ran by counsel and I would assume they are helping you to mitigate any potential issues in the future.  So I understand your reasoning for phrasing it the way you did.

is there any windows miner ?

Take a look here: https://forum.aeternity.com/t/aeternity-open-to-beepool/1788

I know that there is now some mining occuring, does anyone have a rough idea what different Nvidia cards are earning?  I have several Titan Xps that I wouldn't mind using, but want toknow what the current hash rate and earnings are if anyone knows?

I set up my 6+1 GTX1070 for testing now (Beepool). I'll tell you some numbers after 24 hrs.

Thanks! I appreciate it!

I see a lot of you ppl mine at prohashing, better profits then nicehash?? What do you get every 24 hours with a z1?

I had lots of problems with nicehash, a lot of stale shares.  Some people apparently do not.  I like the prohashing interface and ability to get paid out in any coin, and the pool hash rate is better than some of the others, though Zpool and Ahashpool and MPH seem to do ok too.

did someone gain full hashrate on prohashing? i only have about 4.5 GH on 850

Using the overclock method noted above to 1000 mhz and the original 09152018 firmware, I get 7.2 gh/s on my Z1, or at least that's what prohashing tells me.  It doesn't matter what the dashboard says, it's garbage, whatever the pool is telling you is what you need to look at.

today i tried to setup two Z1s but NONE of them is hashing -.-

tried different firmwares, all the same "

no graph is loading.. "The miner may not boot"

WHY THE FCK???

pools are nicehash..anybody else had the problem?
maybe pendrives are too slow? when i write image i only get about 3-5MB/s...so quite crappy ones

im not stupid. i know how to setup asics but this piece of shit drives me crazy..so time consuming.. thanks god these are not my personal units

Maybe the USB drive.  But when I did it, I found I had to use Imageusb.exe everal times to get it to work right.  I also found I had much better success with the original firmware than the later ones...  It took the overclock setting much better for me.

I also had lots of issues with nicehash, though others don't seem to.  I had like 10-15% stale shares.

I saw a ton of discussion about overclocking these, but Im fairly new to mining. Do you know of any place that has a good tutorial or instructions on how to overclock the z1/z!+?

Go to earlier in this thread.  You change the frequency to 1000 among other changes.

Anyone have a good suggestion (besides craigslist) for selling the miner for USD?  Ebay and Amazon worry me because of the potential for scammers and the liberal return requirements...
