These DDOS attacks even with Cloudfare protection are pretty easy. from my limited understanding.  If your origin IP for your domain is public, then the attackers can bypass the cloudfare by using the origin IP of the site/host.  I'll PM nicehash some details.

Yeah, your limited understanding is failing you.  With Cloudflare, you don't know the IP of the webservers.  All you know are the IPs of Cloudflare.

So I'm new to this multi-algo miner and X13 coins in general.  Is it normal to have a hash rate of ~11Mhz and a WU of .~146?  Additionally, I have very few accepts even though I keep seeing 'Accepted Coin'.  Is that normal?
This is normal. The accepted at the top is adjusted to diff1 while the shares you are solving are .00x of a diff1 share

Excellent.  Thanks.

Can I expect similar hashrates to scrypt coins?

edit: I see that they are not the same.  Anyone got a calculation, based on the current difficulty, for how many coins 2Mhs will generate?

Just check the official pool, its calculations are pretty accurate: http://drkpool.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool
So if I were to move over, I'd be around 7900 khs, which according to that earns me a little over 4 DRK.  According to the pool calcs and my quick math, that translates into about $3 right now.  Is that correct or have I done something wrong?

That sounds about right. What cards are you using?
I have 3 280x and a 7950.  Not enough $$ to move over yet, but I'll def keep an eye on this coin!  Thanks for the info.

I added new info to the Hardware list and combined the GPU and CPU lists to one link. There are tabs on the bottom to switch between the two.
 https://docs.zoho.com/sheet/published.do?rid=12cbm2fe8ce55abb2476daa0f8c576b442d40&mode=html

The link is also on the first page under Other Tools.

Is there a mining calculator for this coin?  If not, could anyone tell me what my 2.8Mhs (scrypt) rig will produce?

I have two questions.

1. Does anyone have a guide for solo mining?  I thought I had it setup correctly, but kept getting an error "pool 0 not supplying work fast enough." Anyone know why?

2. If I setup a p2p node for myself and mine with it, what is the difference between that and solo mining.  Specifically, is there a difference in the amount of coins I will receive?

So I was trying my first attempt at solo mining today and kept getting the following message:

Quote
Pool 0 not providing work fast enough

Any ideas what I've done (or not done)?
You need to use stratum protocol, not getwork.
Solo mining is not profitable even at todays difficulty (around 110). To solo mine you should have at least 5% of the network hashrate, which is ~150MH/s. If you have hashrate lower than that you should join a pool to offset changing difficulty.

How do I change to stratum?  The VTC profit calc said I should find a block about every 4-5 days with a diff of 120.  I'm okay with that.

Please remember that this number is an avarage, this means you might also find a block in 10 min. You could, however, be trying to find a block for 10 years too but without succes. That's why i'd suggest to use a pool, just because you'll be getting payouts on a regular basis.

I aware that its probability.  Just wanted to try solo.  Wink

Any ideas on how to fix my setup?

Wich .bat config are you using atm?

At the moment, none.  My miner is running linux.  My wallet is running on Windows.  If it matters, I used telnet to confirm that all ports are open.

Hmm I really don't know anything about linux tbh. I'm sure Boris or someone else with linux will be around and he'll probably be able to answer your questions.

bump.  Still looking for assistance on solo mining...

Then pretend that I didn't quote that post.  Anyone know how to calculate solo mining probabilities?

of course, rough estimates:
1000 kh/s at current diff 152; 50% probability of finding a block: 182 hrs
at 10,000 kh/s 18,2 hrs
and so on

(i mean real-vertcoin-kh/s, not standard scrypt)

Excellent!  Thanks.  Do you have a site for this, or was that a back of the napkin calculation?

i have been crying here several times how p2pool was not consistently paying me.  i would get on the payout list and all of the sudden i would be off it, even though i kept mining throughout.

i decided to create my own node and see what happens.  i have mined all night last night, and not once did i get off the payout list.  i have consistently been getting payouts, FOR EVERY BLOCK!

if you are getting shit results from p2p, just create your own node!  i run mine on virtual box instance of linux.  it was a bit strange setting it up but once i got it up and running, it has been smooth sailing with P2P!

one thing i noticed is that my miner shows a SHIT TON of HW and zero WU.  i thought it was a problem, but the payouts are coming in so maybe it something with my node config.  if anyone could shed some light on this, i would be grateful.  i am the only miner on my node, if that helps.

Does anyone have a solo mining profitability calc for VTC?

if you are on a node, you are not really solo mining.  you are part of the p2p network.
