Re: Blocknet just created the internet of blockchain - game changer small cap!

Hard not to get into full shilling mode here. Been part of the community since 2014. I've very excited that this project is stepping out of the shadows after many years of tech development.
It has been frustrating at times seeing a small team and small community working on something that is so ambitious and get so little acknowledgement of the efforts. Mind you the interoperability vision was there in 2014!
This project is all about true decentralization and about overcoming the tribal attitude we've been seeing in the crypto sphere. It's run by community members, some of who have paid functions like the devs.
It's about connecting the the communities of each project and allowing the great tech of each project to be shared with a much greater ecosystem.

Blocknet is a protocol first, a critical part of inter-blockchain infrastructure as you will. They allow data to be exchanged between blockchains.
The first Dapp is their own decentralized exchange, BlockDX. This uses the protocol to check if traders actually have the funds available to trade with each other and it allows for value to be interchanged between chains too.
The trades are done thru cross chain atomic swaps. It is true wallet-to-wallet trading. Current state is a Beta. But get this: Trading fees/ protocol fees are distributed to BLOCK holders.
There is not company! BLOCK is needed as a trading fee and will be market-bought on the dex. This is the reason why you want to own some. It creates buy-pressure automatically with adoption.

Mind you the current state is a beta. Currently you'll need to download full chains for coins you want to trade. But that's also why the blocknet community is hyped about the release of Xrouter.
That will serve as the backend for any SPV (lite) client or ultimately a multiwallet that doesn't need to download the full chain.

To get back to the protocol, imagine being able to build dApps with features from multiple chains. Being able to charge and pay microfees in any cryptocurrency for the services you offer.
If you are a dev, or have a sweet dApp idea, just start cherry picking the features you want from any chain and offer it to your target audience.

Also, with release in July ERC20 will be supported (using 0X)

Honestly, it's the best looking exchange i've seen. Not just on pc, but also tablet and mobile... Partnering with VSA has really been a solid move!

As far as the facts go; the funds are accounted for, there is a github with code, there is a functional cross blockchain bridge

Yes, this scene lives and eats of the image of coins, that's pretty much 90% of the game.. at least until the tech proves it's validity. Until then it's mostly promises on technology that is going to be build. Ask yourself, are you truly a crypto believer? Or does you personal financial interest moves your actions?
We can ask ourselves if we are truly a community if all we do is invest, hype and speculate. At least people producing code are doing something real!
Supporting a project financially means one should believe it may actually make a difference in the real world. It means being part of a supportive community and putting in your own energy and skills in order to help build those solutions.

Asking critical questions, sure! Developers and teammembers should stay sharp on their goals and promises.
Many projects have moved to other platforms because of the nature of these boards have been totally destructive.
These boards are for speculators, not for community members.

You're welcome to join the blocknet Slack if you are interested in a constructive talk.
And yes, very critical questions are asked by community members about how we deal with PR

I think that Dapps on xbdridge is rather significant too if that could be realized!

Hey Arlyn, Thanks for tuning in again. You really create the community vibe in here.
I mostly skim the thread on news and leave again (especially with the negative vibe around here lately)
But it really is you who does all the work here; thanks for that!

Yes, please expand the blocknet thread ban on mchammer to this threat. I'm here for constructive feedback and announcements on the XC project.

For hammer: please man, if you invested badly, don't blame others.

Good stuff Dungor!

Thats what you call community contribution. Let's expand on the scenario's and see if we can create more!

Thee fee structure is indeed also very interesting to visualize to get a picture of where the BLOCKS play their dividend and how the Xmixers fit in.

We need some updates showing progress from the XC team..

Way too quiet for my liking  Sad

Arlyn please bring back daily or I'll even take weekly updates please!?!

I agree. We've not had this kind of silence since the beginning.

Which mean (in my opinion) they are hard at work

Congrats on the team(s). Not everything went smoothly, and a lot of parties where involved, so to keep everyone on the same page was a real challenge.

Thanks for everyone involved (even the fud teams, cause they made my share bigger).

Please let us know there is anything the community can help with. We love to think along (and criticize Kiss)) but you will have our support if the process is transparent and honest. We will respect you decisions.

Thanks

Honestly the Bittrex refund wall is non sense. The 850 BTC are reached, and the deal was if they are reach then the project can start.
Now, we are going to have another 48 h of Drama...
This all smear campaign was non sense and now we are giving it the chance to win !

It's fair enough that people that are (in their opinion) "stuck" with BLOCK can trade it back.
You don't want it? Sure, the org will take it of your hands and mark them as not sold in the first place.

About Dan being the coder of XC, come on man, really? XC wallet can send coins anonymously, you can chat anonymously.
There is a mobile wallet (android) being publicly tested. There's a bunch of platforms supported by for the original wallet.

So the results speak for themselves, even if he doesn't know how to code (which seems very farfetched with a linkedin profile indicating his 35 years of experience), then at the very least he knows how to run a business, and quess what? That's exactly what the makes XC stand out from the herd and will outgrow this crypto scene into the real world. I like Dan's vision and the way he produces results.

You comment about holding XC and asking legitimate questions. Then please, coming from a fellow XC holder; enough is enough man.
Let the man focus on the job and drop the undermining questions. This isn't helping us as a community at all.

The whole deal with XC is indeed that it's not open at the moment cos the tech is too valuable for that. You can have a look at Kimmyf's blockexplorer to see that some really advanced stuff happens when you send XC anonymously: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=630547.msg8969324#msg8969324
If you're not convinced there's something there (whoever made it) then just sell the XC and buy back on Rev3 when it's opensourced.

In the meanwhile Dan is looking at business opportunities that might adopt XC as the foundation platform. When this comes to fruition, well... I leave you to speculate what will happen to it.

Thanks

Well if you read further, the next convo's we have i clarify what i can and cannot pass onto the sdc team. I was the middleman relaying info to the sdc team as this was when things were being discussed about sdc becoming part of blocknet etc.

Prom's own statement confirms i had to malicious intent. Yet people continue to attack me here.

Aside form that prom started promoting util shortly after anyway. So it's not like he kept it secret long.

Smurf,

isn't true that the same investors who quietly exited cinni after hiring dev's to implement the CINNI EM [and leaving the CINNI community to rot], are the same investors involved with SDC? And used the same cinni EM devs for SDC.

People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Dan

Are you attacking me dan?

Just answer the man, cause he had to answer a lot of questions the last couple of days

i know the team needs to be prepared but the rest should just think positiv .

Arlyn when will the xc thread be up again. guess you wanna restart with some news. Smiley

I think it is safe to reopen the BTC talk thread again. The fud storm is over.

We'll be doing this at some point. I'm also considering a separate thread just for announcements, so that they can all be on one easily accessible place instead of getting drowned out.

I like this idea.  Update the announcements and basically lock it so it can't be swamped with a bunch of useless posts.

The past few days I have been assembling info into XC and BlockNet documents.  I'm hoping these docs will cover almost ANYTHING you'd want to know about XC or the BlockNet but from a completely objective view.  Even what some consider FUD will be covered and backed up with answers and supporting links.  Hopefully these docs will be available within the next few days.  I've considered adding the docs to my own moderated XC/BlockNet thread but I am open to any suggestions that anyone might have.  Smiley

Sounds like a perfect base for the new "anouncements only" thread. I'm curious to see your work.
Thanks for your efforts!

I can't even imagine how low this is gonna be dumped after the market opens  Smiley

Every person considering buying BLOCK at the ITO price has to ask themselves, "Why would anyone wait until after the ITO ends and then buy it for a higher price on the open market? Considering that there isn't actually any tech developed for this project yet and there will not be any produced for a considerable amount of time"

I just can't see why people think they are going to be able to flip a quick profit in an ITO that includes a large amount of altcoin payments that will need to be sold in order to return BTC that can be used to fund the project. Especially considering the 10% bonus for those buying with Blocknet altcoins is going to result in a huge dump at ITO price or lower on the bass that is a 10% profit without even needing to sell at a higher-than-ITO price.

It'll be a race to the bottom of that 10% at the very least, in that the winner will be whomever manages to dump out before the market slips lower than that point.

It's developed by altcoins devs. I Recon they will add it to their own stash.

I'm not sure what to expect exactly, cause those bittrex funds are still stuck. Those people will get the chance to return their blocks, but for the rest of the market is already pretty solid. Anyone willing to sell (except bittrex owners) could have done so by going to ponie.

I've bought a (for me) considerable chunk at 10% less and I'll have some BTC ready to pick up on some cheaper blocks if the market is going down.
That whole 850 minimum thing will ensure we will all be refunded if the shit hits the fan and it doesnt seem like there's a lot of slack, which mean owing a bit of those 850 min blocks will make you a bigger stakeholder then when it would go full on to the 2500 btc max.

I'm happy either way

Here's the full IRC interview that occured, edited (but not filtered) on Coins Source

http://www.coinssource.com/interview-with-dan-metcalf-regarding-recent-blocknet-concerns/

Good to see it at last above the previous article

That's not good enough for me. The first article has already done irreparable damage . They should pull the first article and publicly apologize for it.

I see they removed it from the main site , asked them too to remove the tweet

That's the least they can do. I will be a lot more skeptical looking at coinsource articles from now on
