http://www.coindesk.com/hashfast-cuts-50-of-staff-denies-bankruptcy-rumors

High Points for the lazy:
  • 50% (15 people) of staff layed off
  • 2 Federal Cases, 5 Arbitration Cases ongoing
  • New CFO: Monica Hushen (former HP, ECS Refining Exec)
  • Gallo, attorney representing 3 of the artbitration cases is concerned HF may soon be insolvent
  • HF wouldn't talk to ARSTechnica when they visited
  • HF Rep Joe Russell did talk to Coindesk however
  • HF say they are converting system and board orders to ASICs, even for the people suing them
  • HF say they have a large Chip inventory to ship (where did I hear that before?)
  • HF claim the conversion will see customers get significantly more hashing power than ordered (sceptic here)

Most would argue their customer service never existed:

Quote
HF: In order to improve our cash flow, as well as focus on ASICs, we made the difficult decision to reduce our workforce by eliminating marketing and customer service roles, as well as some engineering functions.

There is a timeline website here http://hashfast.org/Timeline for those interested in the sequence of events. From the wiki:

Quote
This Wiki has been written with the main purpose of exposing in a rational and irrefutable manner all of the lies and deception that HashFast used in order to sell overpriced products from August to December 2013.

Hey DZ,

Good luck with the exams and job search :-)
Just ignore the trolls under the bridge.

Thanks for the update, we really appreciate all the hard work!
It's too bad it didn't work out for all and we all got filthy rich but hey we tried right :-)

if you could post a small update say every 2 weeks that would be great,  even if it's "no news yet".

+1

DZ, please try to communicate regularly. It really makes a difference to know you're still around and working on this. So disappointed it didn't work out.

Are payouts and email broken for anyone else? My reward has almost doubled my threshold but hasn't been sent and I have been trying to change my payment address but never get the verification email.
I got a payout yesterday at 19:00 UTC but it took a little longer than usual. I did NOT get an email notification. Kind of an obvious question but, did you check the payout history?

Re: [Guide] Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup

my paper clip trick on my powersupply is unstable, I put electrical tape over it (just that part of the connector it covers maybe 5 pins in a row) but it doesn't hold the paper clip down forever, it becomes less effective and the paper clip is able to move just the slightest to turn the power supply off

how do other people deal with this? Its just a minor annoyance because the block erupter blade reboots so quickly and gets back to work

You need a paper clip with a thicker diameter. I'm not sure what you mean by it covers 5 pins, mine is connected to 2 pins. Get a paper clip with wider diameter ends and tape it securely in place. Only cover the area where the paper clip is. Tape is cheap, don't spare it. Also it might help if you cut the paper clip down to an inch or an inch and a half.

My blade is in Customs (Ireland) and they are looking for a proof of purchase. How am I supposed to handle this? I PM'd friedcat yesterday but got no reply. Others who got their blades must have encountered this. Do you get an invoice from friedcat or tell them you payed in Bitcoin?

Most customs authorities operate the same way around the world, if they don't believe the customs declaration they ask for proof of purchase. I have gotten stuff from China before and been asked for proof of purchase but I had a paypal receipt to show, I have zilch to show for the blade. Any advice would be great because I am quite worried right now.

They have a invoice for 39 attached to the package.. It should be inside that transparent pouch where DHl puts the waybill..
Let the DHL team know about it.!

The problem is they don't believe the price. Unless the invoice you mention shows a higher value than $39 and details how much for the item and how much for the shipping, it's not going to fly with them. I'll mention it to DHL the next time I contact them but based on past experience I doubt they will accept it. Any idea what might happen if I can't produce a proof of purchase? Do they put their own value on it or maybe just destroy the item  Sad

This is not a single issue with BE blades and customs. IMHO friedcat might consider specifying more reasonable (from customs p.o.v.) value around $129.
Yes I agree. I think the value should have been put above $150 to be believable. Customs know that International shipping is not cheap, particularly express.

What about the 12V EPS connector? I have a Corsair VX450 which doesn't have an 8-Pin PCI-E connector. I don't have official specs for EPS but it seems to be for servers, particularly for both redundant PSUs and multiple high power CPUs. There is the unofficial spec at playtool:

Quote
voltage rail: +12V
number of lines: 4
max current: 28A
max wattage: 336W
My PSU has 33A on the +12V rail so if this spec is accurate theoretically it should work. Can anyone verify this? The wiring has written on it 300V 18awg.

For anyone wanting to see if they have this cable:

Quote
You can identify an 8-Pin PCI-E cable with having PCI-E branded on the connector with 3 yellow (12V) wires and 5 black (GND) wires. On the other hand, you can identify an 8-Pin EPS connector as having 4 yellow (12v) and 4 black wires (GND) with the yellow wires situated closest to the tab on the connector.

Can somebody please identify these PCV pieces and point me to proper shop, like eBay or something? I would like to build similar rack, please help (here or via PM), I'll tip

Local hardware store > Plumbing section, ask for PVC Pipes and joins

Home Depot etc.

Looks like a couple of straight thru sections and some 90 degree elbow joins. There is a tee join in the middle as well. You can see most of them on that homedepot page. Any hardware store on the planet will have these, that is the beauty of this build. Really nice work phil

The op hasnt posted in this thread for 2 months... unlikely he is still selling.
Have you tried localbitcoins?

OP has a history of selling so figured it was worth a try. I am being imposed with withdrawal limits on bitcoin.de so it is a real headache when I need more than BTC5.

Last time I checked localbitcoins (<1 month ago), there was just one seller locally with 0 transaction ratings. They seemed a lot more expensive, like 25 euros more. I had another look at localbitcoins and there are three there now. At this volume their prices seem reasonable, so thanks for that.
