Bumping with love and Greece:

P.S. The worst thing is, that even a month ago I was suspecting that things can go wrong. In February, I several times called my banker and lawyer and asked them if money on the account is safe, mentioning that article in Financial Times. But they convinced me that there is no reason to worry, and even if country goes default, in no way current accounts may be affected. "This is European Union and banks here can't just grab your money and go" I was told.

According to FT, Greek banks are considering a depositor bail-in that could see deposits above €8,000 haircut by "at least" 30%.

Now, just recent tweet from Yanis Varoufakis (Greek Finance Minister)

FT report of a Gk Bank Bail In is a malicious rumour that the Head of the Greek Banks Association denied this morning

Sounds familar?

How is the progress? Project seems to develop terribly slow, wich is sad since issuing and P2P exchange of shares is IMHO one of most important and promising features of blockchain technology.

Any ETA on fully usable software?

Personal request: Fallout Online 2238 went open source last year
by

Im not a developer, im just writing thas as potential idea:
Fonline source code has been released last year allowing anyone to create custom versions of the engine
http://fonline2238.blogspot.com/

For those unfamiliar, it is custom made sandbox MMO engine for Fallout1/2 that allows playing on one gigantic map that includes all cities and most places from both of these games. Game features very advanced crafting, mining, gathering resources, permanent Jet addiction (no cure! lol), clan wars and many more.

It would be amazing thing if somone managed to integrate in-game trade with bitcoin and relaunch the project.
Original version suffered some economical problems - everyone were hoarding cash like crazy, so getting your hands on in-game currency was awfully hard espacially for noob players. Getting your hands on advanced equipment was even harder.

The only RPG that currently allows for in-gmae bitcoin trade is rather unsuccesfull https://www.bitfantasy.com/.
Bitcoin payment system is well suited for microtransactions nessesery in MMORPGs. Will anyone pick up the challenge?

For everyone curious the gameplay there is also fonline reloaded project (http://www.fonline-reloaded.net/) that picked up maintaining servers after original creators resigned.

I bought it too, and I have to say, these games are pretty awesome. I never suspected unknown indie game like Organ trail to be so addictive. Only disappointment is poor coding in Frozen Synapse. Minimum 1GB ram on android??? Is this a joke? Also barely works on laptop with AMD e450 2x1.65Ghz + radeon 6320.

Re: The Death of Inflation despite QE

Article explains why printed money did not cause inflation yet. But this money will be spent eventually. It is very naive to think that this money will never be in actual circulation, and it is naive to think that bank money creation mechanism won't multiply it like 20 times.
And what FED is going to do when inflation kicks in eventually? Sell bonds? This will remove bearly 1/20th of injected money due to what I said above. Not to mention the fact it will make goverment borrowing fuckin expensive.

Why bother to keep price fixed to 1000 USD per ounce, if value of gold itself will afloat anyway, thus making entire thing pointless... That system would have point if value of gold was constant. It *could* have point if it wasnt tied to gold, but to basket of goods - it would be simple inflation/deflation countermeasure then.

Bullshit.

It is impossible to transmit every single order by Mutum Sigillum to Mtgox in Japan on behalf of their clients, because wire costs would kill the buisness. The two companies were merly reducing funds imbalance from time to time - it cannot be called transmitting money on behalf of their clients. And Mtgox is out of U.S jurisdiction, so unlicenced money exchange part does not apply as well.

I think we are dealing with political attack.

And so the shitstorm begins!

I have $10 worth of lunch, I eat it, it's gone

I have $10 in cash, I spend it to buy a lunch and eat it, it's gone too. But, that $10 note now becomes the income of the restaurant, they will spend it later, which will cause another $10 income for another guy, and so on...

In the first case, I ate a lunch, did not create any other economy activity

In the second case, I still ate a lunch, but I created a serial of economy activities

Why such a big difference just because the existing of currency? Is there something fundamentally different in the currency than general goods/services?

Well, how would you pay for meal if there would be no currency? In order to get $10, you need to earn it by producing something for someone the same way that other guy earned it by preparing meal for you.

Just imagine Fallout MMO with bitcoin as in-game currency.

The difference is that bitcoin do not promise any gains. If it goes flash-crash tomorrow, and you start biching & complaining, everyone will just laugh at you. Know the risks or die.

Funny thing in economy, is that since you cant do large scale experiments with proper control group, you cant surely prove or disprove any of these theories.

There was a lot of FUD about that.

See this:

This is 7 day averange of daily fees sum. Since january 2012, fees increased by level of magnitude. We have about 4 years before next reward halving. If tx fees will rise at this pace, it will compensate with no problem.
