I've been absent from Crypto for a bit.

However, I wanted to make sure I convey my thanks for the work that all of you that worked to resurrect Sprouts Classic have done.

Please know that it is GREATLY appreciated!

Well seems more people like the idea of old Sprouts, Sprouts Classic. Can someone, who is online often, create a new self moderated thread? 🙂

About PoS question above: you can hardly earn any PoS rewards with an average stake...

How many coins do I need in my wallet to receive POS.
I have 20 mill and nothing  Grin And your coins must be together with only one summ

I already have 200 million and nothing. Strange wallet the coin, I do not see my weight and weight of the network, only the first 3 transactions are indicated in the Minting, I already have more.

My wallet is the same... 1st 3 and nothing else but after my PC power went out and I had to reboot and restart wallet, now I'm showing for all my stakes except the brand new ones.

I will also say I haven't been combining my stakes as I don't like the way the new 'Send' is. It appears I have to manually calculate how many coins I want to send and I don't like that you can't seem to choose which ones to combine.

Have you turned on coin control in display options?

duh... nope thanks roadhog can't believe I glossed over that...

are we sure they fixed the 2 bil cap in the new HF wallet?

I've been hesitant to screw with this wallet too much. I corrupted my original sprouts wallet and had to do a bunch of python/pywallet stuff to get it back.

Oh also, we need addnodes. I've got zero connections at the moment. I could consider paying and installing an explorer for sprouts but somoene has to handle the community and the exchange part. My hands are already full with 808coin/compc oin and my own coin.

But i'll be happy to promote sprouts again as my presence online is growing.

God bless you Bastillar Grin.  I totally trust you from your 808 coin giveaways on twitch and I follow you on YouTube, twitter.  For those that do not know Bastillar, he does what he says and even has a book to help you out in starting to make income in cryptocurrencies using POS.   Smiley

I can definely with help from others in handling this community.  With regards to exchanges I believe arcmetal talked about one called yobit which is not too expensive.  We will have to make sure this thread is well moderated and no talk about hard forks or swaps.  This is purely dedicated to and I am just going to say it from now on as ‘Sprouts Classic’.

Thank you all for the support.

Thanks Bastillar!!

I had both Sprouts wallets running on my win10 pc but then the power went out and it wouldn't open both but... just tweeked the .conf file with listen=0 and they are both open... just waiting for it to get connections and I will update later.

Personally, I'm staking both chains now. I guess we will see which one will eventually prevail. Honestly, the new chain is looking pretty ugly right now IMO.

I too am staking both. Of course my old SPRTS wallet is on fire and doing really well... new one seems to be limping along but I haven't been combining my stakes as I don't like the new sending process... however in defense of the new wallet it's probably just the way i'm doing it as I haven't really had the time to dig into the new wallet

We should consider continuing with the old sprouts classic. The new devs from japan completely screwed the coin.

At least with the hardfork I can mine 2 kinds of sprouts now, I think.

Edit: I can pay for the explorer and the exchange. Would anyone be willing to continue the old sprouts chain with me? This is serious since I can easily fork out the several hundred dollars it would cost to do it.

Let me know everyone.

Hey bastillar,

I am with you to get back Sprouts Classic.  I do prefer the rewards that were given.  Let the new Sprouts team do their burn project while we get the usual rewards.

'raising my arms to the crowd'

Cheers,

DZPrince

My sproutsjr wallet still seems to be running on the old chain, and it's still staking.  Go for it bastilar.

The windows OS won't allow both sprouts and sproutsHF to run their exe's at the same time, but you can run them just fine on separate PCs.
(window's throws up this error if you try to run sproutsjr while sproutsHF is already running:  "unable to bind to 0.0.0.0:9901 on this computer.  Sprouts is probably already running." -- maybe modifying the code a tiny bit, like changing the 9901 port number would allow both to run)

I have had both running for a about 2 weeks now on a windows 10 pc with seemingly no issues.  I will say that the new sprouts isn't staking as often as they say it should though.

I would support a restoration of the old sprouts classic. we just need someone to take over the wallet, and get it on exchange and we're good. got lots of old sprouts classic ready to support it.

I too  am running both the new and old wallets. I get the reasons for the HF as stated by the new dev team but perhaps they should have not messed so much with the minting % and worked on burning more coins.

I'm willing to wait and see if the new dev team gets SPRTS used in the real world however, I started staking this coin in order to develop a passive income which, it was working for that.

So, I will support the restarting the old coin.

10 days have passed, and the probability of catching a reward is 15.75%. When there are 103 million coins in one heap ...  Angry
In the course of the complexity grows by leaps and bounds!

Great ... Sign that the diff is growing and inflation will decrease ... only the strong will survive

I can also report that one of my block inputs of 34 million is now at 33 days and is at 47% chance of staking so yes the diff is getting a lot higher as the days go by. My 50 million input is also at 17 days now so I'm thinking the minimum now is at least 60+ million for anyone wanting to stake within 15 days.

Already passed 13 full days for my 103 million coins ... waiting from the sea for weather as we say
I have such a question - what is the number of coins in the graph Coin Day? https://ibb.co/j03xOd

Yes, I decided not to shave my beard until I see the reward ... in the evening there will be 14 days as I did not shave ... the wife is in a rage  Grin

Wow! 13 days for over 100 million, I wonder if anyone else with 100 million is seeing the same? Because then we can get a rough idea on how many coins are needed to stake within 10 days. I never understood that coin day stat as mine for my 34 million is saying 84 million, I think it could be the weight of that block? I'm not too sure. I can't believe how fast the diff has gone up with this coin as its skyrocketed in the last 2 months.

I staked 270 million and it was right between 8 and 9 days.

Hi. When i start the 808 wallet i usually have 6 or 7 connections, but within 30 minutes my connections drop down to 0. Ive got the latest nodes from the forum, but still cant keep a connection. What am i doing wrong?

Connections will fluctuate at times so I wouldn't worry about it unless it goes on for awhile.

Bought 886000000 yesterday. As much as an average Joe could have contributed to support growing community of rebourn Sprouts...will hold till I'm  old.

1 question: should I keep them at 1 stake or break in parts?

Thank you.

If it were me I'd keep it as one until your compounding approaches 2 billion and then keep the stake around 1.5. I am just finishing my 1st SPRTS stake and it is definitely a juggling act. Once the fork happens and the new wallet is released i'm sure that bug will be fixed.

Also, backup your wallet.dat in a few different places and at least one off your pc. I corrupted my wallet and it took me 14 days until i had time to go in and get it working again.

I breezed through the white paper and will read it closer as I have time.

2 quick questions:

- will we keep our wallet and coins on our pc's still?
- how does their new discord fit in?

It's frustrating yes but 808 coin is under priced. The general negative down turn is affecting all cryptos, not just 808 coin.

This "funk" i like to call it may last a few months. Once sprouts does the hardfork, there will be fewer high pos coins being offered so 808 coin hopefully can benefit from sprouts exit from the high POS scene.

808 coin will go through the same hardships sprouts went through, but in a much slower and more stable manner. This will continue until 808 coin staking difficulty reaches equilibrium with supply generation rate. That may take, hmm a year or 2

bastilar I'm so glad I ran across you youtube channel and book when I did. It allowed me to get a nice stack going!

Hi Arent,

first MAKE MULTIPLE BACKUPS AND PUT THEM IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS.
this will allow you to experiment and still have your original wallet data.

Do you have any programming exp? That will really help.

you need to load Python on a pc and there will be a few other Python addons. I'm short on time but will try to get you some instructions on Monday. Like I said in a previous post, getting Pythong and Pywallet set up is the hardest thing to do. after that you just use the pywallet UI to strip out all the transactions so the wallet will open. once the wallet is open you use the command window to pull the private key. then you start a new wallet and again using the command window copy the old privkey into the new wallet and your coins will show up.

More info to follow.

Make sure your firewall is set correctly for the wallet, the conf file is named right and then give it a few hours.

Now my question for the forum:

I have 25 transactions that have 99999999.000 coins, each at 14 days and 1 transaction with 37017040.8024 coins at 14 days.

Should I wait to see if they mint or should I combine them now?
10% at 5 days then 2% daily until it mints

Combine them now, asap. The larger the stack the greater the probability of staking new coins.  The probability is a calculus of the number of coins times the days they've been sitting (coinday = total_coins X days_sitting)  You will lose your "14 days", so this is something you'll need to weigh.

But be warned, be sure that you don't combine them all into one address since 25 x 100 million = 2.5 billion, and this will corrupt and crash your wallet.dat file.

I usually prefer to combine them into stacks of 1 billion each, or 1.5 billion each.  At least that way its safe, and what they produce: "the new minted" coins are always small stacks much smaller than 2 billion (10%, 2%, etc).  And every now and then, I combine all those new smaller stacks into yet more stacks of about 1 billion each... and so on.

Thanks arcmetal I'm glad I had already decided to do that.

I had corrupted my wallet by trying to combine ~2.5 billion prior and had to use Python and Pywallet to delete all the transactions to get it to open back up. I then exported the pvkey out and imported into a new wallet... worked like a charm and got all my original transactions back.

That's how I ended up with 14 days minting... took me that long to steal enough time to work on it and actually getting Python and Pywallet setup right was the hardest part for my situation.

My newly combined transactions are at 1.137 bil, 999 million, & 399 million. I obviously could have done a better job combining the 24 original transactions and may have to recombine them to improve staking.

I corrupted my SPRTS wallet by trying to combine too many coins.

I used Python and Pywallet to fix my issue. This is not easy and took me quite awhile to get Python set up correctly.

I won't go into a bunch of detail but essentially I did the following:
1. used Pywallet to strip out the transactions and the wallet was able to be opened
2. then exported the private key from the original wallet that now had no transactions in it
3. started a new wallet which created a new wallet.dat
4. imported my original wallet key into the new wallet
5. all my original transactions returned - it processed for a few minutes but everything returned very quickly

24 transactions total returned for a combined 2.5 billion coins.

Amazing how it works.

If anyone needs help let me know and I'll put together more detailed instructions (which might take me awhile)
