I can't edit the OP, but if you are on the pool, you need to stop mining on pool.cryptoescrow.eu and start mining on mine.cryptoescrow.eu - or when the DNS changes, you won't be connected.

So why wont pool.cryptoescrow.eu point to the IP that mine.cryptoescrow.eu provides?

We seperated the backend from the frontend for two reasons - performance and security. Having a web server on a machine that stores money is unnecessary and is an attack vector. Also, having a dedicated server for mining means it can have all the resources it needs.

I understand all of this as I run and have ran multiple pools. I am curious to to why you need to completely drop pool.cryptoescrow.eu so suddenly? Why not just change the dns for pool.cryptoescrow.eu to point to the new stratum server IP? I had quite a bit of Kh/s pointed at it and there was no warning/time announced ahead of time for the switch. I do however appreciate the new faster DDoS protected servers.

I'm gonna be completely honest - that was kind of due to a miscommunication. It was supposed to point to pool2.cryptoescrow.eu for a while, then we would phase out pool.cryptoescrow.eu's mining ports entirely.

Ahhh.. Well thanks for being honest Cheesy I have pointed my miners to the new IP for now, hopefully everyone else will follow!

http://pool.cryptoescrow.eu was updated:
  • We have raised ulimits and added auto restart for Monero daemon, which results in a more stable and profitable pool.
  • Added email sign up feature for urgent news.
  • We plan to have DDOS protection starting Thursday.

If you would like to receive news related to mining Monero(software news, hardware comparison, community news, etc.), subscribe to our mailing list: http://pool.cryptoescrow.eu/sign-up.html

Awesome, glad to see DDoS Protection is coming Thursday Cheesy

Seems to be a while since we found a block though... With the pool sitting at around a 12th of the network hashrate... We seem to be very unlucky :[

Last block found time as of now: 6/17/2014 10:01:35 AM

Update v1.7.1.0 - https://github.com/strcoin/starcoin/releases/tag/v1.7.1.0-str

1) Updated Checkpoints and Master public keys

Sorry I haven't been pushing out updates as quickly as I Intended, I have been very busy at work and with family. I will try to get v1.7.2 out soon, It will include the optimizations to the block tree which should cut loading time down dramatically (less than a minute to load hopefully). I am also looking into implementing some sort of assisted difficulty re-targeting.

If anyone else would like to contribute feel free Wink Just fork https://github.com/strcoin/starcoin and submit a pull request

Awesome, just pulled and it seems to be fixed Cheesy... I do have an odd issue with a few EC2 instances... They start at 1Kh/s and drop to about 385Kh/s... I am not sure why yet..

Throttling, most likely - you're using cheap ones?

Well that is lame, I am using the c3.8xlarge instance.. I figured they wouldn't throttle the CPU demanding instances..

EDIT: I figured it out! Pretty simple mistake lol, I had another miner running under a screen running as root.. So calling just screen would return there were no screens... But doing a sudo screen showed it.

Eerybody,

Please join Wolf's pool http://pool.cryptoescrow.eu/#

My miners are on it. My hash rate is higher and more stable than in other pools
No block in 10 hours with that hashrate is worrying...

All the pools are showing the same thing. I read somewhere it's because of a really high orphan rate.
Everything is fixed up - pool is running smoothly.

I am showing a lot of these:
Code:
[2014-06-16 16:42:36] stratum_recv_line failed
[2014-06-16 16:42:36] ...retry after 10 seconds

I have miners pointed to stratum+tcp://pool.cryptoescrow.eu:3333, is this normal? I thought I read some where this is caused by something to do with the pool?

There are currently 32bit and 64bit windows builds for v1.7 @ https://github.com/strcoin/starcoin/releases/tag/v1.7.0.0-str

I have been busy with work so I haven't been able to finish v1.7.1 as soon as I hoped. I just have to test it out to make sure everything is working properly. I am hoping to release v1.7.1 by the end of the day today. Also I have decided to roll the block tree optimization into 1.7.2 which will decrease the sync time and wallet opening time dramatically.

Also in regards to using addnode, it should not be needed anymore since IRC is now working. I will remove the IRC support in a later version and replace it with a few dns seeds.

Edit: There is a temporary block crawler @ http://block.directory until we get an ABE block explorer up

Cryptsy has already updated their Starcoin wallet to v1.7

We will be releasing a v1.7.1 either tonight or tomorrow that will resolve the slow sync/start-up times and the checkpoint too old warning message.

Is GPU mining monero currently profitable? I am getting 115 H/s with my R9 270 on 14.4 drivers. I didn't change any settings, I just ran pool.bat. Is that H/s average? I feel it might be kind of low.. I am getting 110 H/s using 2 threads on a i5-4690..

Is there a calculator for MRO/Hashes/Per day?

NOTICE

Just an update, I have been talking with bee7, veremit and sirnubbles about maintaining code/developing upon StarCoin further. We are working on implementing more secure features into StarCoin; right now you can expect an update by as soon as tonight. As bee7 stated previously he is not going to be a developer for this coin. He has also stated that he may submit pull requests if he sees fit. Currently I have synced version 1.7 with the stake lockup fix and I am actively mining blocks @ http://block.farm

I can confirm that bee7's fix has fixed the timewarp bug and corrected/fixed PoS.

I have also forked StarCoin and merged bee7's fixes @ https://github.com/strcoin/starcoin
All updates from the new dev team will be pushed to this repo ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

If you have any questions about the upcoming update stop by #starcoin @ http://webchat.freenode.net/
