Try this:
press CTRL- ALT- F1 together, terminal window will open. Login as m1, pass miner1
type:

sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade && sudo reboot
Please reply with results
After login in ssh, try the others commands given in page 246 (dpkg ...)
and try to réinstall latest nvidia drivers with

sudo apt install nividia-387
or try to install nvOC V0019-1.4
Unfortunately did not get rid of the login loop
Does it go into a loop with -1.4?
yes it does
also not working on a z210 unfortunately
I have e3-1220 as the cpu that doesnt have onboard video could that be affecting anything?
will be trying a different cpu this week
have you ever had an issues with your z400s not booting with risers connected to the pcie slots? troubleshooting my first z400 rig at the moment and cant get it to boot windows with more than 1 card connected
I have not had this problem -- when you say "boot" what do you mean exactly ? Is it going to POST at all ? Or no display ?
wow, funny enough turned out too be a bad riser connector lower piece, idk if not seating or shorting or somnething

running into another issue now though, cant get them to recognize my p106's lol
did you have to do any bios setting changes to get everything to be recognized?

Are you using Windows for yours ?
Generally it's just plug in & go on the ones I have configured via Windows. I only have "standard" graphics cards, though, no mining cards.
Testing out windows 10 on this rig.
They just don't seem to be recognizing then at all

Trying to cut costs if i can for the time being, as i have a lot to buy scalewise (25 rigs x 5 cards) and have access to free hp workstation psu's 400w
I was hoping to power gpu's only with the dps1200's i have (8 cards per on 10pci breakout board), it'd mean buying twice as many psu's, breakout boards and cables
figuring that the 400w psu will have just about enough headroom to run 5 risers and its cpu
Trying to cut costs if i can for the time being, as i have a lot to buy scalewise (25 rigs x 5 cards) and have access to free hp workstation psu's 400w

Just make sure to give some room for server PSUs and don't overload them for 24hr operation. 1100-1150W consumption should be perfect and can serve you for a long time. Moreover, go with a Gold rating or plus ATX PSUs for MOB and other basic components.
So in this configuration with a regular ATX and a server psu, nothing is needed for then to work in conjunction?
like when you use add2psu adapters for dual ATX psus

Hey guys, just wondering what measures you guys use to make a server psu power your gpu's while maintaining a standard psu for your motherboard, peripherals and risers?
Ive been trying to find a definitive answer for how to connect these in the safest manner and havent had much luck
Also i cant find great pics or a writeup, but can you run a p106/gtx1060 card and riser off of the same PCI power connection with a 2x 6pin splitter?
