Re: What could make an exchange to seize users assets
by
medussa
on 12/03/2023, 11:02:57 UTC
It happens with many exchanges- not just coin base, any government-regulated exchange can freeze your funds for any reason, from suspicious transactions to money laundry or even inadvertently buying bitcoins or crypto assets that have been blacklisted or used to fund illegal activities. That is why buying bitcoins in the streets and then sending it to a centralized exchange can sometimes pose a problem.

Holding approach is good for bitcoin and some altcoins as well, because over time, the price will always go up with wide volatility in between, you only need to wait

Re: Are all the bounties coming out right now garbage?
by
medussa
on 14/09/2018, 23:02:58 UTC
The reason they look like garbage for most of them is because there is less patronage for ICOS at the moment, if patronage is low, cash raised will be low and so will be the beginning untying rewards

It is not likely to affect the already established ones in the market, more likely to affect the new ones that just ended ICOs or just got listed

Re: Do not respond to FUD threads!

The goal of every FUD or fake news is to stir up your emotion of fear, then panic sets in and then irrational decision that will end up in you selling your assets at far below it's actual value. I don't take them seriously, unfortunately a lot of persons do and that affects everyone

For now, there are not enough infrastructure on ground to facilitate such, only a handful of merchants accept it or peer-to-per among friends and close associates on a more or less  informal settings.

Re: New Survey Shows 80% Of Americans Have Heard Of Bitcoin

80% have heard of it but probably barely 1% truly understand what it is
It will take time before even those who are involved in it to really understand how it works, bitcoins is taking a little step away from the geek/technical stuffs to the general public.

Re: What do investors think about ICO?
by
medussa
on 06/09/2018, 01:24:12 UTC
more and more investors are becoming weary of ICOs as the space has been grossly abused, project team collect money and make little effort to make tokens worth investors money, some even dump their own tokens or list them on some washed-down exchanges where patronage is poor, the result is that they dump in price.

by

It would make no sense at all to ban cryptography since it already permeates a large section of modern applications, not limited to cryptocurrency, for example, you need cryptography to login to your account, blockchain is only a portion of it.

Buy BTC at low price and hold
It seem actually much more profitable to do that than to invest so much in mining hardware to produce bitcoin at roughly 6000 $ when there is just a small difference with the currentmarket price

The problem is compounded with a fall in the price of bitcoins, It is making mining for bitcoin to be a negative ROI. unless the price of btc doubles or triple, thing will remain gloomy for mining

Re: What is your favorite way to cash out?
by

on 05/09/2018, 17:29:32 UTC
I cash out by converting my tokens/coins to ethereum (because of cheaper withdrawal fees than bitcoin) and then transfering to local exchange (Luno.com) and can then sell, withdrawal in local fiat
