That being said: it should be completely up to you which wallet you use... It shouldn't matter if you ran your money trough a string of mixers, coinjoin or privacy-centric coins: as
long as they don't have any direct proof the source of the btc is illegal, they should not have blocked your account.

However, i've seen other exchanges doing exactly the same: putting the burden of proof with their clients... Basically saying their clients are guilty untill proven innocent (instead of the other way around). It's either an easy way of scamming their clients or an easy way to force their clients into not using certain wallets or mixing their coins because it would make it harder for them to proof certain funds were obtained illegally.

Hi guys ! My name’s Dave
Dear Crypto holders,
Something very fishy is going on with Crypterium.com

Im Holding an amount over 10.000USD in BTC on my Crpterium.com Wallet!

Since Friday! I received an email that my account is blocked because of „High risk“ deposit of Bitcoin.

The deposit was made 10-15 days prior That ominous email.

They mentioned that my deposit was made from or related to an coin mixer and that I should explain who and why the deposit was made.

I hold my btc always in wasabiwallet for years already and never faced any issues with any trading platform or wallet when i deposit from my wasabi wallet.

Any help will be fine.
Thank you in advance.

Absolutely disagree. Although making an analogy between bitcoin and TCP/IP is void and meaningless it would be worth mentioning how a semi-decentralized infrastructure like

TCP/IP was ruined by L2 protocols like SMTP and HTTP giving birth to Internet giants like Google, Facebook, Netflix, YouTube, etc.

VPN regulations

Hi guys ! My name’s Dave.
There are so many VPN services and many traders use them to hide their residence country so they can use certain crypto-exchange or some other platform which prohibits some countries resindents from participation(which is very unfair in my opinion). I'm pretty sure the authorities in every country are pretty aware of it but still allow VPN services to carry on. Even in China you can use VPN and visit any webiste.
Why do they allow VPN's? Maybe it's just useless and authorities are able to identify user's location anyway but it marks those who use VPN and place them in some database.

Any help will be fine.
Thank you in advance.

Re: Does lightning network really solve the scalability problem?

LN was never about scaling.
it was about introducing a network that could add offchain fractional reserve Banking to Bitcoin while pretending not to.  Tongue

Offloading Bitcoin Transactions to Gift Cards or Exchanges do a better job and are easier to use than LN.
And just to be clear LN used incorrectly actually increases BTC onchain transactions instead of decreasing it.

Money laundering via BTC
by

Hi guys ! My name’s Dave.
Is it possible to do money laundering via bitcoin? I mean as no one knows if you have bitcoin and how much bitcoin do you actually own, it could be used to convert black money to white right? Or at least store your black money without much hassle. But there is the risk of its value but I think for people who have lots of black money and don't want to be caught, this risk might be worth taking for them isn't it?
What are your thoughts?

I honestly fine if KYC is needed on exchange. Because i think it's gonna be safe if it's on big exchange like binance, but there's no guaranteed for that. also KYC can help when your account hacked or even the exchange get hacked like what just happen lately with kucoin.

KYCs are not the problem here. The problem I see is where you are entrusting your information to.  Because their are certain ICOs that will only fish out your information as it has more value for them rather than the token they are creating. KYCs are a requirement of some countries' government as it is their way of regulating or being in touch with their citizens. What I would normally do before trusting my personal information to other entities such as ICOs or even exchanges I will research on them if they have a good background.

Bitcoin Mining Pool distribution
by

on 25/09/2020, 10:45:51 UTC
Hi guys ! My name’s Dave.

I am watching Bitcoin Mining Pool distribution and I like what I see now. It looks much more decentralized then before, and no pool have more than 18% of hashrate at the moment.

I looked at stats from two website btc.com and coin.dance. We can see some new pools that are growing very fast, like Binance pool with around 7% of hashrate in last 24h. Biggest pools are still located in China.

Any help will be fine.
