At the time I said that it had been down for ~1 hour and 15 minutes(roughly 00:45UTC).

How do we know that he was actually hacked? His word is the only thing we have to go on there AND he also gave his word that he would repay. If he keeps his word it is likely that he is telling the truth and if not then it is obvious that his word is no good. I pmed him and offered to split the losses with him if he had any real interest in repaying. If he repays I will update the topic and if not oh well I've already lost the coins.

If it were me I'd tell you to fuck off. Then I'd create a new account - you're a whining little child who was too greedy and got burned.  "HE" is not under any obligation to pay you a penny. To play Devil's Advocate, who is to say you didn't hack the account yourself or had a friend do it?
Once again read the thread and stop being an asshat. I never once asked him to pay me back until the 3rd time he said he would do so.

How do we know you aren't him or the hacker(I hate that term). You seem to have a lot of interest in this. Why is that?

Which senario seems more likely:
A:) I am some hacker who for whatever reason chose his account over many others that would have been more valuable just to steal ~2btc from my self. For what reason? Why wouldn't I use that to steal from someone else?
B:) That YOU had something to do with this. imo you have shown way more interest in this post than what is nessicary. I will be asking staff to check your ip(s) against his and the so called attacker.

ok MR TROLL with no trades and no history. your input has been..um.. noted. thanks.

Also, HE said HE would pay me back. I am simply asking HIM to keep HIS word. Read the thread before speaking up next time

I don't make my trades on here.

So let me get this straight. You sent almost 2 BTc to someone you don't know, you did it without escrow. When you got scammed you left negative feedback and insist it will remain there even knwing the other party was a victim of a hack. You then insist that you be given that other person's account for your loss.

If it were me I'd tell you to fuck off. Then I'd create a new account - you're a whining little child who was too greedy and got burned.

"HE" is not under any obligation to pay you a penny.
If you don't trade here and have only been here for about two weeks why are you posting in this thread? kindly gtfo/stfu

He became obligated the second he said he would pay. Also, how do we know he got hacked? Just because he says so? It is true that I should have used an escrow. The only reason I didnt was because of his account age and post history.

Please go back to trolling other posts or back under your bridge. Or as you so eloquently put it fuck off

Well I'll make sure not to do business with you. If someone were to gain access to my account(s) and used my name to steal from innocent people I would repay them. Maybe I just have a higher set of morals

We will never be doing business, don't you worry. The option to proceed without escrow was yours, you took the risk. Out of all the fraud complaints I've read on this forum though you seem to be the first who feels the hacked party owes you some compensation. In actual fact he doesn't owe you a penny, and I reiterate I wouldn't pay out.

You should have used an escrow, I don't see why the other party needs to refund you for your loss. I certainly wouldn't.

Since this guy has absolutely no interest in making this right I would like to take over ownership of his account/change the username. The account age/post count has value and I deserve something to cover my losses

This is an interesting proposal.

Tough call, in my opinion -- you are responsible for engaging in a transaction without escrow (can't knock you, though, as I hate using escrow as a seller), and he's responsible for controlling his account.  But again, in my opinion, if he is truthful, he had no malicious intent, and so it's only the hacker you should take issue with despite your desire for compensation.

True. I should have known from the start that him trading LTC for BTC @ 3% below fair market was dumb. His account history is why I sent first without requiring an escrow and that is a mistake I will not make again.

My account has been hacked, it is not under my control.

I have been online since the interwebs first became publicly available in Chicago and I've never been "hacked" or had a virus. How the hell does someone with that much time in the BTC world not have a decent password? Maybe people are just dumb?

Bullshit excuses are bullshit imo

Re: Cannabis Cup Denver 2014 - marijuana business meets crypto currenices

Not sure what facts could go hand in hand, but I'm sure there could be some effective or catchy slogans. I really think Bitcoin could blossom in the legal cannabis industry, especially with most banks refusing to work with dispensaries etc, but sadly that also includes many Bitcoin payment processors too. I wonder if a Bitcoin friendly one will emerge who will find a way to issue payments without a bank. I reckon there's massive profits to be made if one arises that gets around the issues as the cannabis industry only seems to growing larger and larger at the moment. I hope the Federal government just doesn't try crush it at one point.

This is an opportunity that will only get bigger as more and more marijuana businesses open and as more states allow mmj or legal marijuana period. The problems with the exchanges is a very real issue but there are plenty of p2p methods available that have faster cashout times/higher rates of return than using a standard exchange would. The issue comes from having a federal MSB license afaik. Which is probably why exchanges like coinbase wont take MMJ business money.

Cannabis Cup Denver 2014 - marijuana business meets crypto currenices
by

Cannabis Cup in Denver is the second year for this event and I suspect this year is going to be even better than last year. The key difference is the change in marijuana's legal status across the country and growth of bitcoin since then. Some of you may or may not be aware of the marijuana industry’s banking problems which are similar but different from bitcoin trader’s problems.

I am going to cannabis cup as part of  a long term strategy to establish local trades in key areas(vegas and working on denver now) and maybe some investors. I had planned on making a flyer offering my trading services but I am now opting for a “pay it forward” approach with a “pro bitcoin” flyer that explains the possible ways that both are answers to problems both face right now. My plan is to mostly give this to vendors at Cannabis Cup and the numerous events surrounding it.

What I am asking for here are some useful verifiable facts that can be used on the flyer plus possible concerns/answers to those concerns they may have. I have hired a graphics guy from this forum to do the work and will hopefully be able to use the responses here to building a nice flyer/info packet and q/a.

This is a BIG money industry and if just one or two decent sized dispensaries to make a move into btc it could snowball and that is good for all of us.

I'll send you an email shortly. I am looking for a logo, business cards, various other web related graphic elements, layout for a flyer, and some general website design improvement tips. I was just going to use odesk but if I can get the work done by someone in the btc community I would rather do that.

Sure thing, I was actually warmed up on making Logos this week, and have been on an absolute roll. I'm feeling pretty confident in my logo designing skills. So, we should get in contact at your earliest convenience.

Hi,

I am merakicoin(and tomfoolery at other various other crypto sites).
Currently I am looking for the following:

 - logo
 - business card design
 - layout and graphic elements for a flyer
 - various other web related graphic elements(landing page graphic,
sales graphics etc)
 - some general website design improvement tips

I am fine with breaking this down into individual projects and paying
50% down to get started. I have been working as a freelance developer
for the past 6 year and require no less than 1/3 down from new
clients.

I have attached a screenshot showing the overall layout and color
scheme I am currently planning on going with. Hopefully this will make
it easier for you to estimate the work involved.

Alright, just want to clear up something very important! That's the wrong email!  Huh I accidentally listed my inactive live email, instead of my Current Gmail.

Malicered@gmail.com is where you'll need to forward that email! Very sorry for this mixup.

I'm also wondering if there was an more instant way of contacting you. Maybe through some instant messaging service. I find that my best projects are ones that I can communicate with my clients as much as possible. Instant messaging would make this very easy. (I use Skype / Kik)

email resent to Malicered@gmail.com. I dislike skype, msn, etc. I have a google apps account for the domain I sent the email from so I could use gtalk? Alternatively you could hop onto freenode - nick tomfoolery and I am always in #bitcoin, #bitcoin-otc and #localbitcoins-chat.

I'm very sorry  Sad I sent a PM to Theymos to get the account back or closed. I have no control over it. I hope to get an answer quickly.

Meh. Should have chosen a better password imo. Feedback will not be removed unless I get my btc/ltc and will be added the the new account.

He logs in every day around this time but wont respond. what a douche bag

He has been flagged.

You'd think that they'd at least try to defend themselves, eh?

Yeah, even something weak and lame. I suspect a sold/hacked account.

Very likely sold. Maybe he saw he could get a quick hundred or so bucks out of his account and took the chance, and now it's costing this guy $850 :/

yup. people suck. lesson learned
