poolwaffle, do you have plans to add other algos to your pool? Scrypt-N, X11, Groestl are GPU miner friends now, since traditional scrypt coins difficulty rockets up due to ASICs.
I don't think it's too difficult. Create separate pool for each algo by copying your existing code for scrypt. Make different 3rd lvl domains like "x11.wafflepool.com" and "sn.wafflepool.com" and mirror existing frontend code there, just change the databases for new stats. Configure servers in the following way - "one port for one algo", like :3333 = scrypt; :4444 = scrypt-N; :1111 = x11.
Download and sync coins' chains. For start let it be one coin for each pool. Vertcoin for Scrypt-N, DarkCoin for X11. Or may be two. Add other coins later.
So. Will we see something like that soon?

I'd like to know this as well, despite what JHammer says. Good chance these coins will resist ASIC for a while.

I've been regularly buying little bits here and there on the way down these last few months, but I'm going to stop and just HODL what I have now... sure I could sell up and wait, but I'm happy to sit with what I have on the off chance of a genuine reversal out of nowhere. At least stopping buying is some kind of protection against further loses, right?

Absolutely no one has a fucking clue what is going on now. The great Chinese masterplan is either boom or bust. I have to hold my hands up to them, they have the entire market at their mercy.

I'm interested. How useful are your newsletters in actually learning TA, rather than just looking at current charts? Do you have an archive of newsletters one can read through to learn, or some kind of tutorial archive?

I invested all my 7,8 BTC in this coin and now i have an estimate of 1,6 .If i loose it all here it will be my last cryptotrade ever for sure.

On the other hand, I made about 12 btc profit at the same time and that's after buying back almost all of the coins that I sold in the first place. This is what happens when you try to ride a wave like this... you'll either get smashed against the reef or have one hell of a ride! It's a risk; you should have known that.

If you want to make a play today buy MRC. Tomorrow you can thank me. Just a little hand out to those who lost with BC today. My info is solid. Look at my past posts on buy tips and check my twitter. It will pay off.

You posted this 41m ago on Twitter:

Nice #blackcoin dip! Buy quick it's gonna be short!

So, which is it mate?

I've only got 5MH on the pool but I am wavering, especially with another low payout last night. I saw 5BTC of value wiped off my BC the night of the crash, and now payouts are low. Miners need to be looked after here or this coin is only going one way.

Volume is incredibly low.

I just encountered BlackCoin and I think it's a very interesting pump concept.  The coin switched from PoW to PoS.  Now the only way to mine it is indirectly, and to facilitate that, there is a multipool, bcmultipool.com, which mines scrypt alts, dumps for BTC, and buys BC with BTC.  It then pays out in BC.

The effect is that every 20-60 minutes there is a market order for BC.  The BC bid keeps going up.  Also, whatever scrypt is leading the return on difficulty gets dumped.   If enough miners decide to take payouts in BC in this way, BC would then drain the marketcap of all the scrypt coins.

I like this idea, because I think its good for BTC.  It's a layered market, and it reduces the fog of uncertainty regarding competitors by dumping and crushing the value of a large number of trash coins.  Not sure if it is actually an improvement over just switch-mining with BTC payout, though.  I might be.

But surely the fact that the last stage of Blackcoin mining is dumping the BTC, makes it not good for BTC? You get a big BTC dump whenever the blackcoin pools pay out. The more popular blackcoin gets, the bigger the hash, the more alt > btc mined, the bigger the BTC dumps. The value of blackcoin keeps rising, so few are buying straight back in to btc when they get paid. So the net result is more bitcoin getting dumped at current buy order.

I'm mining on blackcoinpool.com with 4.2MH and getting about 0.0034 btc worth or blackcoin a day, which is twice what I've been getting of pure btc on multipools. I also bought 10,000 blackcoin at 9000 satoshi, it's now at 30,000+ :/ I'm very wary of altcoins, but this has been incredible so far.

AnonyMint, what is your opinion on Darkcoin? Does it fulfill many / any of the true requirements of an anonymous coin? It seems to be getting a lot of attention at the moment. I would search the thread, but there doesn't seem to be a thread search facility on here...

I read through this thread and have to say, even though I think I only completely understood about 20% of it, it is quite a fascinating read.

Is this ultimate anonymity coin actually a reality, or is it just an unobtainable crypto dream? Is the knowledge and skillset out there in the coder community? Are people already working on such a coin? Will it be ready by 2016?! Cheesy

It's all a complete mess now, the manipulation that drives the market has become so painfully obvious that even the most perma of perma-bulls can't deny it. The "noveau riche" as you call them are just lining their pockets further at the expense of practically everyone else. This only ends when it becomes nearly impossible (or not worth their effort) to manipulate because all the suckers have been scared off and they have no one left to shake down, but that could take a long, long time as noobs continue to pile in. People who think multi-billion investment is just around the corner are utterly deluded, who in their right mind is going to enter this market with vast sums of money?

I genuinely believed we were entering final capitulation, blood on the streets, blah blah blah, christ I'm even writing those posts myself now. What a great time to buy!!! Yeah right... bitcoin is completely fubar at this moment in time.

Re: TA 101 with MatTheCat. Critical Turning Point Ahead?
by

Did it ever occur to you that those of us who are kind of good at spotting when a correction isn't over yet (you, TERA, mmitech, maybe me) are also the guys who have a harder time figuring out exactly when the tide has turned and the correction *is* over finally (or at least: for the mid term)?

You know, if there only was a name for that kind of mindset that makes it easier to see the built up risk in a market at a given moment vs. those who have an easier time (too easy, often enough)  only seeing the potential benefits... something like cows vs. ursidae... yeah, that sounds catchy!

Excuse me.

But I said loud and clear that I believed the bottom was in many times over and the trend had reversed for now. I missed the absolute bottom by less than $9 with a 60BTC buy-in (no staggered tranches....u wouldnt believe the fkn idiotic trading decisions I make...if I just followed what I write on here I would do a whole lot better).

I also stated (in this thread) that a break out above $580 would be a trend reversal point for me, and this point I would be buying in (I done this). Admittedly, I favoured a retest of the lows and common sense seemed to suggest that this was on the cards. For a break out to occur, an X-Factor was required, and an X-Factor came, my short margin was called. (-$800, ouch!)

I am a shitty trader....especially when things happen that I wasn't expecting, like yesterday....any discipline which I lack at the best of times anyhow, and common sense go right out the window. From that insane bull run yesterday, I am limping away with a quarter of the profits that I could have easily have bagged if I weren't such a fraggle.

I do however rate myself with sensing out the general trend. General trend from here is up, but not without a good retracement from the current levels..unless of course Mr X-Factor comes along, again.

You can't say that I never called trend reversal, cos I did many times, including in this thread. U can accuse me of being a shite trader though, cos I am, and I admit it....(right now I have about a 60% success ratio in terms of USD profit. Exit timing on winning trades is fkn shocking and I hang on to losing ones for too long and/or crap myself when I should have held out, always.

Mat, stop defending yourself all the time, you don't need to rise to it. Spend your energy on your analysis, I (and a lot of others) appreciate it Smiley Where do you think the retracement from here will lead down to?

I refuse to believe that one whales manipulation like this can reverse the trend completely... we need to see much more than this, surely? I'm holding off.
at this point its not much about reversing the downtrend. its more about how far that son of a whale is going to push to price up. (meaning profit opportunity for us little followers)

I appreciate that, but it seems to me the only opportunity it presents is whilst the whale is still active. Even now he's gone, it's going down. Certainly doesn't make the whole thing "bullish" to me.
