The difficulty jumped through the roof and block discovery times tanked. Clearly this coin has nothing to do with Venezuela, but someone somewhere thinks so and is throwing some serious mining power at it. It jumped for 15mil to 61mil.

I've looked the OP, but it didn't cover what the difficulty adjustment time was, transactions have come to a complete stand still. Hopefully the network adjusts to the influx of hashing and things start to flow again.

I agree, this coin has been sitting by the wayside for a long (too long) time. I'd love to see movement!

I don't know what the current status of this coin is, but I noticed there isn't a block explorer. Enjoy. (as of right now, it's still syncing up)

I'm having the same issue, I open the client. It starts to sync, and then quickly loses all connections and never reconnects. If I close the client and open it back up, it does that cycle over again.

any ideas?

I've also pointed 333Mh/s to the network, hopefully something good comes from this coin. It wasn't even alive a year before it was abandoned.

I have a few PM's stating support for WSX. Please let me know ASAP the amount of WSX that you're willing to hold beyond 400 sat. There's nothing holding you back from selling them cheap but believe me that you'll regret selling them under 400 sats.

I'm holding for the long haul. Got just over 546k.

Did you already send all your coins to the swap address? If so, you may not get them back.
no i have them in my wallet. my wallet version 0.8.99.7 and its sync

okay, just hang on to them. WeAreSatoshi v1 (which is what you have) has been rebranded to WeAreNakamoto.

Hopefully we can get the ball rolling and pump some life into this coin!

europex.eu shows WeAreSatoshi listed for trade with Dogecoin, but it looks like they have MrData's blockchain synced, I've messaged them to see if they would be able or willing to roll it over to previous chain. Time will tell.

Excuse me. Don't we have wearesatoshi, do we?

From a technical standpoint there are two variations of WeAreSatoshi. The MrBrew original (WAS), and the MrData V2 (WSX). This is a continuation of MrBrew's Original. But with a different name so that we don't impact WSX.

This is a community revival of the original WeAreSatoshi Coin, changed the name so that it has no impact on WSX.

Since this is a community revival, what should our plans going forward be?

I do like the idea of continuing the donation to charity in the name of Satoshi Nakamoto.

ideas welcome.

Don't want to FUD or Blame here but usually you should think about plans for a coin BEFORE launching a coin, don't you ?

I like Community projects, but if I would have started a project, i'd go into a subforum and create a thread with something like

"Call for Members to revive WeAreSatoshi"

and in this thread i'd then ask for Devs, Promoters, Graphic Designers, Pool Ops etc. who would all chime in with Logos, Ideas, Pools etc..

THEN I'd launch a coin Smiley

But just my 2cents ..

actually, I did that... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=770778

Though, i probably could have let it sit for a longer period of time.

I've posted the ANN for WeAreNakamoto. I was unable to compile the Mac or Windows wallets. Hopefully a dev that is familiar with it will assist.

[ANN] [WAN] WeAreNakamoto | SHA-256 | POW
by

(Let me preface this by saying, I'm not a coin dev, I truly believe this coin has something left to offer. All I have done is changed every instance of "WeAreSatoshi" to "WeAreNakamoto". If there is coin dev who wishes to assist, please let me know)

Here's the story, MrBrew launched #WeAreSatoshi on March 8th, 2014. The coin was handed over to a revival team on June 21st, 2014. It went on to become WSX or WeAreSatoshi V2. There were many people who had left the original WeAreSatoshi and joined WSX, but what of the people who didn't and still have loads of #WAS sitting around? Enter, WeAreNakamoto.

Picking up where MrBrew left off, WeAreNakamoto is the "second act" of #WeAreSatoshi v1.

Currently there are 550623 blocks in the blockchain, which means currently there are 6,234,450,000 coins left to mine.

We're in need of a dev to compile a Windows and Mac Qt.

Currently There is no Windows or Mac wallet for WeAreNakamoto, however if you have the original WeAreSatoshi wallet version 0.8.99.7, that will sync to the blockchain, since all we are doing is changing the name and rebranding.

Specs:
SHA256
Block target: 30 seconds
Difficulty retargets every 2 blocks (Very Quick difficulty readjustment)
Block reward: 25,000 WeAreNakamoto, halving every 200,000 blocks (about 1 Month), not dropping below 1000 WeAreNakamoto (inflationary)
Total coin supply: 40 billion WeAreNakamoto + 1 billion per year (inflationary).

So, the name we're rolling with is WeAreNakamoto. We're also going to pick up where MrBrew left off.

There are 6,234,450,000 coins left to mine on the original block chain,

Here is the breakdown of the original blockchain:
Current block: 550622

Starting block reward was 100,000 coins for 200,000 blocks and then it halved.

100,000 * 200,000 = 20000000000
50,000 * 200,000 = 10000000000
25,000 * 150,622 = 3765550000

I've compiled WeAreNakamoto for Linux (Compiled on Ubuntu). I'm in the process of downloading Qt to compile for Mac OSX and then I'll also be working on compiling a Windows version as well.

The ANN will come out later this week once I get wallets compiled and they are confirmed working.

glassgoose45 did a great job on the logo. http://imgur.com/gdPQ2xE

With this coin coming back to life with a new name, the several people hitting up the WSX thread about V1 coins they can't use, will have a place to go. :-)
