Re: Network Attack on XVG / VERGE

I got kicked out of the Verge community because I started helping the Shield XSH team on the side while being the lead for tech support for XVG.

I'm very disappointed with Justin. He refused to reimburse miners because of the Dec 25 commit pushed to master that caused at least 2 mining pools to lose millions. Now the same mining pools have lost a modest amount from 3 hours of orphaned blocks, however, I bet he won't pay them either. Should just proactively pay all of the mining pools without being asked.

I have a 1060 3gb and I get dag file too big error.  It works with ethmine or the default bat file.  How do I tweak this to work?  I'm using the card as my desktop display.  Have 12g ram and 20gb page file.

When people increase Virtual Memory to 16GB, do they input 16000MB or do you put the actual correct 16384MB?

It doesn't matter, as long as it's enough.

Re: What are these repetitive small market orders on GDAX?

I found that this was also asked on Reddit. You can try it yourself making a $0.01 market order. There's no fee for this.  It says there's a .005 fee for .20, however if you do it twice you aren't actually charged a fee. On the other side, you cannot sell pennies at a time.  The minimum sell is 0.01BTC (~$80).

I don't think they are trying to buy a $1M a penny at a time though. 8,640 10-second periods a day come to $86.40 and $1,728/day.  If you want to buy without fees and at a better price a post only limit order will do that.  One theory is that this is DCA (https://www.investopedia.com/terms/d/dollarcostaveraging.asp). I think these also could be arbitrage bots testing the market spread.

What are these repetitive small market orders on GDAX?

I'm not sure how long this has been going on but I'm noticing it now.  Every 10 seconds there's a ~123 and ~2400 sat market buy order.  These amounts go up when the price goes up so that they come out to $0.01 and $0.20. Who is making these orders and why?  Is this a ping of sorts testing the upper market limit?

Re: [ANN][POWR][UPDATE] *** POWER LEDGER TOKEN SALE STARTS FRIDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER ***

If you're wondering what POWR tokens are used for, read 4.4 of the whitepaper.  The tokens are used to create a currency fixed price token called Sparkz (worth 1 AUD penny each).  The more of these you wish to transact, the more POWR you need.

This seems like a great idea, but will it be used outside of Australia?

BTGold.org online wallet scam

I was searching for supported wallets and I found btgolds.org.  It looks well put together and I found a mention of it being the official wallet, however I can't find any mention of it here or really anywhere. The about page has no company information. It doesn't accept HTTPS which is a major red flag. Twitter feed talks about a hack they survived. I thought about trying this out with an Electrum wallet with a low balance that is not longer funded.

I entered a disposable email and went to their "secure site" which is the same site, no encryption.  I put in the same seed it gave me as a wallet seed and the error message includes "Something goin wrong try after 10 minets or other Seed / Private Key" (sic) I also just noticed that there's no login button, no way of coming back to your wallet.  No confirmation email.  I have no doubt it's a scam. They will take your BTC and probably your BTG as well. Don't enter your wallet keys/seed into any online site.  Only use wallets with proven histories.

I tried to make an account and it's just way too suspicious to be legit.  Seems like a slick and devious scam and no doubt once they have access to enough wallets they will transfer it all out (BTC and BTG).  Domain tools (http://whois.domaintools.com/btgolds.org) show that it was registered 3 days ago (10-24) with only 1 year registration.  The languages are English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean with no European languages so that would indicate that this is based in Asia.

Also, a site that was created after the fork is telling you to move your BTC to a wallet to claim your gold.  no.....  No doubt they will clean up with this.  If they had used SSL and added a login link I would have left this at a question mark instead of changing it to an exclamation point.
