Re: Nigerian Banks To Close Accounts Involved with Crypto
by
mezzaluna
on 23/04/2021, 06:43:32 UTC
This was a major challenge Nigeria's Crypto community faced which forced crypto traders to revert to the old way of buying and selling commonly known as "Peer to Peer (P2P)".

Several popular exchanges have implemented the P2P feature on their exchange. A typical example is Quidax which launched it's P2P platform weeks back.

Details can be found here : https://blog.quidax.com/make-way-p2p-is-live-on-quidax/

The problem with P2P is that you will be flooded with scammers, at least during the initial phases. When I was trading in Localbitcoins during my earlier days, I faced a lot of issues due to this. It takes a few months for a vendor to build up a good feedback score and earn a good reputation. During this time, a lot of people are going to get conned by the scammers. And the fact that cryptocurrency is in a grey area in Nigeria will make matters more complicated.

Binance could actually help a lot with that P2P transactions. Their current platform is a sure way on how people would not get scammed. People are only required to do transactions once they do their verification and set up multiple verification. They are only also required to do one account and most people are not even eligible to do transactions without going thru this sure way to confirm that the person doing that transaction is real.

Re: FINALLY ALL MONETARY AUTHORITIES IN THE WORLD WILL ADOPT BITCOIN

Its actually great that the amount of people and not just the Bitcoin within countries is growing internationally but at the same time, as time passes by, countries will continue to adopt Cryptocurrencies into their local businesses. It will still also be a great technology advancement since financial technology would start jumping in into this kind of system and from that point, advancement would just continue to into a better lifestyle for everyone.

Re: If I die can someone achieve my btc.

I went to market with my wife to buy things for our new born baby, after my wife selected baby things that Worth thousands and I paid with my btc,the transaction was very easy and faster. When  we returned home ,she asked if you die can I achieved your btc or continued with your account? Because it's very easy and faster in trading and transaction.

That is a very thoughtful thing to do for your family. Its also much better to teach them how to use or even earn within the Cryptocurrency Industry. Its really nice to know that we are living in an age in which we can transition completely with cashless payments especially with the rate of the adoption currently happening. Having to live in a world that digital money and physical money coexisting is such a great idea since people living in places with no technology can still continue their normal daily lives with the use of traditional money.

Re: Bitcoin Transactions Fee Are More Expensive Than Ever
by
mezzaluna
on 23/04/2021, 05:43:38 UTC
Beforehand, the absolute advantage of Bitcoin was convenient transfer money with cheap fees, but now if you transfer a small number of bitcoins, fees are a real problem. I also own a few cryptocurrencies in my SnapBots wallet. Bitcoin has become increasingly difficult to become a popular exchange currency but still an extraordinary reserve asset!

https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-transaction-fees-more-expensive-than-ever

One reason that I have saw recently was because of the blocks that was being hashed. Bitcoin is one of the oldest Cryptocurrency and mining now is harder than before. This transactions are also because of the fact that Bitcoin's value is so high that the transaction fee for moving it or transferring it into another wallet is relatively high. The fees are also high when you are trying to cash out your Cryptocurrencies into your own local currency since this local wallets believe that people owning Cryptocurrencies deserve to have taxes.

Elon is a possible influence with the values of our current Cryptocurrencies but its a good thing that someone of that caliber is interested in something that is still progressing. Bitcoin along with other Cryptocurrencies were already under radar for Elon but all he did was boost some meme coin because he was having fun and I do not believe that the markets gonna crash this year, its possible to crash but this year wont be that time and all we will encounter is a bunch of correction.

Re: To be or not to be. What to invest in?
by
mezzaluna
on 20/04/2021, 13:55:32 UTC
Forecasts for bitcoin in 2018 are rather ambiguous. On one hand, some analysts predict gloomy future due to the current unstable situation.
On the other hand, optimists predict bitcoin a rapid increase in quotations, which must exceed its maximum threshold next year in the history of the existence of cryptology.
Although Bitcoin is still in a state of uncertainty. So many of you were wondering what to invest. Therefore, I had the idea to write a several alternatives for investing.
1. Bonds
A good alternative to deposits is bonds. The plus of this instrument is the absence of taxation. And from the same deposits, the tax on income of natural persons in the amount of 18%. But the percentage is different in different countries.
2.Gold
Investments in precious metals should be considered with a sight for 3-5 years.
Silver and gold are traditionally considered to be a long-term instrument to protect you against inflation. They are also interesting because, in 2018, the growth of the cost of precious metals can reach 10-20% in the world. And this gives the possibility of additional income. Therefore, you can invest up to 20% of savings, for example, invest monety / ingots or look at the so-called gold deposits.
3.Real estate
To invest in real estate is required neatly. You can choose an attractive option for a long time in the secondary market as well.True, it must be remembered that investment in real estate pays off for a long time - 10-20 years. And in the case of force majeure, housing will not be sold quickly .
4.Bitcoin: Interesting, but risky
In cryptology you need to invest carefully. The market is speculative, can sharply grow and fall. In 2017, bitcoin cost about 19,000 dollars, now - about 8 thousand dollars. Intraday fluctuations of the Crypto-currency may be 25%. You need to have iron nerves to withstand the jumps, because you can lose everything. At the same time, how much will Bitkoin cost at the end of 2018, it is unknown, because all bold forecasts have come true. But one should not think that cryptography is a costly investment.

Therefore, the choice is up to you as always.

5. Not just Bitcoin but every possible Cryptocurrency that you would encounter and do research on is a possible investment opportunity. The opportunity within this Industry is so big that we might even venture into this industry as our personal jobs. It may be tiring at times but the possible pay out we might gain is worth the wait. The other options that you gave are all great opportunities but you all need to learn about them and focusing on one industry is a much better decision for me since I know that I do not have all the time in the world.

Re: What Could Have Caused Bitcoin to Flash Crash On Sunday?
by
mezzaluna
on 20/04/2021, 13:49:21 UTC
There were two main theories I saw.
One was that mining rates dropped due to flooding in China which temporarily took out ~10-30% of the total hashrate.

The second reason was due to a funding rate indicator on leveraged positions that said there were a lot of longs open and a high funding rate for shorts (meaning short term shorts were paying people to open them and leave them open). I assume that could then build into a bias if the market starts to get a bit stagnant.

Another reason that I saw was it was kinda called a correction. The guy who did the Technical Analysis stated that its basically something that was bound to happen to put its value near to its absolute value and I kinda believe that the Cryptocurrencies currents value are good and nice since its kinda getting that stable line in every chart that we are seeing and most bullish coins right now are either new coins or old coins that suddenly have their community shilling for them.

Another reason was a lot of people were FOMOing on certain coins that pumped before the dumped happen and I believe most of them are newbies so its just scary for them to lose so much money within this industry.

Re: Government policies help to grow the price of bitcoin
by
mezzaluna
on 20/04/2021, 13:41:22 UTC
Crypto currency round the world has come to stay, to foster growth in business and build trust among its users but most world leaders are head bent on tackling bitcoin by making difficult policies to affect its stability, but little do they know that this policies of theirs make bitcoin to become more influential among other crypto ,making it scarce and the most sought after crypto currency thereby making the few people that have it to hod and inflate the price to which ever amount they wish to sale on peer to peer bases...what do you think

Its good that some countries wants to utilize Bitcoin but not every country views Cryptocurrencies that way. There are some recent news regarding the Korean Government trying to place surveillance mechanisms on bank accounts that suddenly transfers huge chunks of money. Its a bit extreme because every people has the right to earn money in their own ways but this just shows that they are scared of something that they are not expecting that some people are trying to earn so much money internationally.

You do believe on Arteezy curse which he had been known on choking like that? lol. He's good but he do really need to improve his mindset and emotion when it comes on becoming too
confident when they are on lead which he dont mind about for possible comebacks once the opponent heroes would able to farm well.
I agree, the game 3 was already theirs but they've lost because he became confident and was able to snatched by IG.

I just laughed on that flyfly's chronosphere on those BM boars.  Cheesy
That was epic and really funny but he showed who really flyfly was for game 3-5.

Personally, I am an EG fan but ever since Bulba became the drafter. It has come to light that their strategy would only work within Best of 2's but when it comes to Best of 3's, Bulba is fixated on doing the same strategy over and over again and that is why some teams against EG will always have an edge after some games. Bulba picked Storm straight 5 times and they did not even have an answer to the Phoenix and Lion opening that IG have on game 3. Imo, EG would not win any tournaments as long as Bulba is their drafter/coach.

Re: 2021 NBA Season
by

on 17/04/2021, 16:26:44 UTC
Utah Jazz tonight:

Lakers tonight:

Instead of watching compete the main candidates to the NBA Finals, we will be watching the reserves match. The NBA must seriously consider reducing the number of games played during the season.

This is really sad news to see when both of the teams were really trying to rebuild teams even before the season started. Speedy recoveries is the only thing we can hope for and no more injuries to come.

When it comes to games like this, its also nice to see the reserves get the playing time. Its still in the middle of the season and they will have the opportunity to shine and win a game. They got into the team because they were expected to do great things that would benefit their team and even though some players are injured, they always take time to properly support their team in matches.

Re: 2021 NBA Season

The Jamal Murray injury was an unfortunate event for the Nuggets and this will be a big challenge for the big man of the team, Nikola Jokic.
The season is almost ending and he is one of the top to achieve the Kia MVP trophy. Without his partner and their deep chemistry will he have the same performance to reach his goal?
Kia MVP Ladder: Durable Nikola Jokic faces biggest challenge yet

He already stepped up his game that is why he's in the MVP race. Is there more to it?
For me as a Nuggets fan, it's a no. But, he could always play at his best for every game. He's already doing that.  Smiley
The ones who need to step up are his teammates. Porter Jr. already made his move. I hope the others will follow.

I really thought that they are going to struggle without Jamal, but Denver keeps on winning with Jokic raising his game a bit. So yes it will be a big challenge for him, but since he is playing consistently, not sure so I agree that it's more of his team mates that needs to step up the plate because we are now entering playoffs and the mentality will have a complete shift. It's either others will embrace the challenge or melt under the spotlight again.
Sad to say but they will struggle soon, Jamal has a big impact on the game since the joke became a passer with Murray on the floor everything becomes easy for other teammates since the defense will need to gamble who needs to be guarded unlike now they are very predictable, yes they will win, but when it really matters they will need Jamal to be in the floor, I hope he will come back with the same energy next season.

This is true. They were potentially a contender with Jamal in their line up but this injury really messes up their momentum into being a contender for the chip. This situation would likely be an event in which other players need to step up because having Jamal injured means that they need to fill in a very big gap that he left. Jokic will now play more post up in the upcoming games and the offense will basically revolve around him.

This situation is greatly because of the pending pandemic in most countries. The need of this countries are not just instantly remedied and this is why the market in most countries are expensive. The lack of utilization of the resources present in a country would only result in poor economical status because its being wasted as time passes by. This Pandemic also showed that the lack of proper community within a country can heavily damage the necessary needs of the countrymen specially when it comes to help being needed at different locations. Maybe this is a kind of economical reset for some countries.

Re: After 1 year of Covid 19 Virus
by

on 17/04/2021, 16:11:42 UTC
I hope the coronavirus will be over quickly and everything will return to normal as usual. because this year is very hard for all people in every country in the world.
all affected by this pandemic including the economies of all countries have experienced a decline. many companies reduce their employees and some even go bankrupt due to this pandemic.
With the vaccine that is predicted to be able to stop this coronavirus, I feel a little calm, including myself.
but I am sure that the coronavirus will be over, everything will return to normal provided that we all must comply with health and social distancing protocols.
remember this! there is always a very beautiful rainbow after a storm Smiley

I surely hope everything would be the same as before but one problem that we encountered was living at an third-world country. Its not that we are blaming it on our government but there are many opportunities in which our government could create better decisions but up till now, our country is still on lock down when other neighboring countries have already mitigated the increase in the Covid-19 cases while within our country, there are still thousands of people being affected and blaming it on the people is kinda wrong since those people just wants to find or earn necessary money to use for their daily needs. Without the help of government, our country would really still go down deeper.

I got a job interview with an Insurance company and I'm trying to apply for their IT Digital Programme that would kinda boost my career into the IT Industry. The final interview will consist of me presenting a 10 minute presentation about a way on how to further improve their company.

Personally, I instantly thought about Blockchain Technology because it would greatly benefit their security. As a fresh graduate with little knowledge about Blockchain, I believe this is the opportunity to present an idea that would revolve around Blockchain Technology because it is something that would progress endlessly.

Any inputs would be greatly appreciated if you have some.

Re: I think Bitcoin is the biggest bubble and ponzi in the universe or it isn't?
by
mezzaluna
on 17/04/2021, 15:57:22 UTC
why I call it a ponzi     because late comers pay for the early adapters with their cost of bitcoin is almost nothing
in early days of bitcoin people just mine it for fun........

why I call it a bubble    have you ever seen any investment can start with almost nothing and went up all the way to over 60,000 dollar per coin  in a decade time?

even if you count it from $1 per coin  to over $60,000   that is over 6,000,000% return in investment

what do you think?

may be it is just my silly thought....

please comment.    thank you.

This kind of post was already created even before Bitcoin reach the $10,000. People have always labeled Bitcoin as something that would be gone within a month but all those doubters have been proven wrong and Bitcoin is still a good thing that people can have this days. The possibility of Bitcoin growth is still there specially when it is being adopted into the physical world nowadays. More and more projects have been appearing and they want to integrate the usage of Cryptocurrencies in their transactions.

Re: Can Your Bitcoin Wallet Be Hacked? How Can You Secure It?
by

I believe that this Bitcoin wallets are so secure that the only problem people accessing it is forgetting their own passwords or losing their private keys over something that was trivial when they started keeping or hiding their secure places to keep it. Bitcoin wallets cannot be hacked as long as you yourself only knows the passwords that would access it. You should also look for the Bitcoin wallet that already has a good standing and credibility in terms of its security and not just some new Bitcoin wallet that was created and just hyped because of the one promoting it. Always go for quality.

Re: Elon Musk stop messing up the crypto market

Am I the only one who finds his tweets and market manipulation annoying?

A lot of newbies falling into the trap unfortunately. BTC is strong and won't be affected too much but Dogecoin is just increasing its pump and dump reputation. Sad.

Things like this always happen within the Crypto Industry and some situations are not just seen just because an influencer is talking about it. Elon Musk is fine to talk about Cryptocurrencies because he is familiar with Financial Technology because of his creation of PayPal. His tweets and every words coming out from him is just his own opinion and tweeting about it is his freedom. It will be normal for us to feel sad if things like this happen and even though DogeCoin is just a meme coin, if it gets shilled by someone with great influence, things like this are expected to happen.

Re: Why doesn't bitcoin go up higher percentages like altcoins?
by
mezzaluna
on 17/04/2021, 15:12:25 UTC
With some coins going up 50% or even l00% in a day or few days or in a week... any reason why bitcoin doesn't do that almost ever?  Look at binance coin and many of those other coins that are literally doubling in a week.  Now the btc dominance is going so low.  And even when btc goes up... you don't ever see it going up that much percent in a week.  I mean... its rare to see bitcoin say go up 50% in a week yet tons of altcoins do it.

I believe that it is because of the Market Cap. The higher the MC, the harder for it to pump but its still possible for Bitcoin to be bullish but we need to expect it to rise slowly. The rate of people selling it is more than the people trying to buy it. Bitcoin does not grow its value weekly even though its possible. Bitcoin is for a more long term HODLing situation that a kid with knowledge with Cryptocurrencies should do because he/she has that life ahead. Alternate Coins are being created on the daily and all of this have the possibility to grow 50% within a day or within a week.

Re: Bitcoin legit or not
by

on 15/04/2021, 20:02:43 UTC
Its time to hear if bitcoin is legit or not!!
Someone with good and legit reputation need say here if bitcoin is secure safe and legit!!

We Trust USA dollar because its Federal reserve are legit guys!!

So is bitcoin good or not?

Someone like donald Trump should if its legit

I don't think there is any doubt as to whether Bitcoin is legit or not. And in general, I think Bitcoin can be much more trusted than the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve print dollars every day without any liquidity behind them, and the dollar will continue to depreciate.

Its also weird to ask for a person to promote Bitcoin when its already the number 1 Cryptocurrency internationally. Donald Trump does not even have a clue if Bitcoin exists since he is always focused on doing things with fast outputs. Bitcoin is already legit because its already being used when buying cars and its also widely used in most transactions that would happen digitally. The Bitcoin adoption rate is very fast right now since most companies are starting to see its benefits and we can really see a world with Cryptocurrencies in it.
