Re: mercaBit.eu - buy bitcoins with ukash and more - feedback thread

A few days ago we have received a C&D order from Ukash over our chat system. We though sharing it here could help other traders and give us a hint on how to proceed from now on too.

Quote
To whom it may concern:

1.Smart Voucher Ltd Trading as Ukash, demand that you do take the following action with immediate effect: Immediately cease and desist using Ukash as a payment method on http://www.mercabit.eu"; target="_blank">www.mercabit.eu and any other associated website.

2.Immediately agree in writing that neither [ http://www.mercabit.eu"; target="_blank">www.mercabit.eu ], you nor any other person or entity acting on behalf of or in connection with http://www.mercabit.eu"; target="_blank">www.mercabit.eu will directly or indirectly engage in further unauthorised use of Ukash intellectual property; and

3.Immediately remove and destroy all unauthorized items both visual and physical. Which include the Ukash logo and name that is published on http://www.mercabit.eu"; target="_blank">www.mercabit.eu ; and any other associated website or business content.
If Ukash have not received your affirmative response from you by 18 July 2013 indicating
that you have fully complied with these requirements, Ukash will commence proceedings in connection with this matter and your domain name may be confiscated. Ukash desires to resolve this matter amicably and assumes this also to be your intent.
We are hopeful, therefore, that having been apprised of the foregoing, you will immediately choose at this time to agree voluntarily to our demands and avoid any unnecessary and costly legal intervention for which we would be seeking to recover our costs. We are sure that you understand that our proposal to resolve this matter without resorting to litigation is for settlement purposes only and made "without prejudice" to any of Ukash rights, which are expressly reserved.
Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter.
Respectfully,
Ukash Legal

I don't understand...why are they trying to stop you from taking ukash vouchers? Angry
That really sucks...ukash is one of the only ways to obtain bitcoin without going through the usual exchanges...I find it alot easier and simple to convert my ukash voucher to bitcoin via mercabit!
Will you be still taking orders for ukash vouchers up until the 18th July or have you stopped immediately? Sad

Another good transaction with Alex...the third or fourth time I think...bit of a fuck up with the messaging etc due to technical problems so there was a slight delay...but not his fault...good communication...wouldn't hesitate to use again...very trustworthy...top man. 10/10

I don't mean to belabor a point that's probably been made in one of the last 139 pages, but let me try to clarify.

So, as a newbie, I'm restricted to posting in Bitcoin Forum > Other > Newbies only.  As someone who's only a month into mining and barely able to cash out my work, I'm not really sure what I can add to these conversations that would be novel, or not terribly repetitive.  Besides asking a probably-stupid question like this.
just fucking spam then lol

Re: MTGox verification

I got stung after opening an MT.GOX account. I transferred £100 from my bank account to my MT.GOX account and bought BTC. When I tried to withdraw it it stated that I had to verify my account even though it was only a small amount and I had complied with all the requirements. I am very wary about uploading personal details over the internet...especially passports, driving licence etc. In fact I wasn't just wary I was furious...it's like blackmail...unless I give them certain details I can't access my funds. To say it is disingenuous is an understatement...how do I know my personal details are in safe hands? I don't! Angry

Ahh sh*t, I'm planning on transferring £50 from bank > mt gox.  I emailed them last night and they said you don't need to provide AML scanned documents for such a small amount.  Now I'm worried if I transfer funds they'll do the same to me.  The only reason I don't want to send scanned docus is the fact I don't have a scanner..

Would try bitinstant.com but their UK bank has been frozen..  FFS Tongue
I registered with Intersango as well but it looks like they are not doing GBP bank transfers at the moment. Sad

I am a newbie and initially became interested in BTC for illegal endeavours...but I am slowly becoming interested in it for legitimate reasons...as an alternative currency etc. I still have a lot to learn about mining and the IT requirements and procedures...it's a steep learning curve but forums like this are a great help to people like myself.
