Just about done with my first contract, mining began as scheduled and at the power advertised. About halfway through PondSea wanted to add another card to the rig but he asked my permission first and ended up compensating me with both extra time and MH/s.

Are the cards spread out evenly enough so there's a few inches above the fan intake for each one? Also have you tried swapping the cards out so they trade PCI slots and tested to see if you observe the same temperature difference?

Re: Shows about Micro Chip implantation...

I think the creation of these shows might have to do with the increasing hype around wearable computers like Samsung's watch and Google Glass. The concept of taking a normal person and endowing them with technology which gives them super powers has a lot of mass appeal because obviously none of us were born Superman/Superwoman but would like to have been. Also if you look at shows like the 6 Million Dollar Man it's clear this concept isn't new but this microchip idea seems more plausible in our modern world so it's gotten popular again.

That being said, it will be a cold day in hell before I stick a fucking RFID in my arm. I might buy a smart watch but I hate the idea of having a piece of technology on me that I can't take off.

Re: USB Miners for Scrypt coins

I've been mining a few different Scrypt-based coins for the last few weeks and I have yet to hear of any Scrypt ASIC's that are currently in use. Doing a search I found a few examples of companies taking pre orders for future hardware but I haven't seen any specific dates for when that would be available. So far I've seen a few alt coins that are scrypt based but also use cgminer to gpu mine but that probably won't help you with your laptop. I'm also very interested in a such a device so hopefully I just haven't looked hard enough and there will be something out there now or in the near future.

Re: Best Place to Acquire BTC

I got some of my first BTC by selling some unused gift cards through reddit.com/r/bitmarket which was pretty painless. I got market price for the transactions and no fees other than the transaction itself.
