i can sell ltc at btc-e for btc and transfer to gox and make an additional percentage when i end up with usd.

making money is not personal. gox can do whatever they want as long as it assists me in making a tad more.

all you bulls blaming gox for the crash and hating on them.. giggle

.... Uh, what? Lol, dude. The issue is not bulls blaming gox for whatever, it is silly people using a service that is incredibly inferior.
There are a dozen other exchanges where you could transfer your BTC to and sell it for USD and make the same profit. Some exchanges even have a higher USD/BTC rate than GoX much of the time. Yet, you choose the one that at any given moment could have 427 seconds of lag time or be completely unreachable due to "victim of our own success."

I'm not laughing at people trying to make money, I'm laughing at people picking the poorest-performing broker to do so. Lrn2freemarket.

So if fcmatt were picking a convalescent home to put his mum in, he would pick the one that costs more, has the electricity shut off randomly, and beats its patients, rather than the one that has excellent service, nice staff, no rolling blackouts, and no beatings? And he would state a completely unrelated, incorrect reason as to why other people don't put their mums in the abusive home with the outages?

Matt don't let your mum know you have such bad skillz at choosing institutions with which to do business based on their performance...

one word: dwolla

that alone makes gox the most interesting exchange for me. i bet it does for many many others too.

CampBX does dwolla as well?

Until now we had too much iops and system was having trouble keeping up with the load progression. Switched to a RAID 10 SSD array

We gave them how many M$ yesterday and all it bought us is a 10 disc array?

They didn't say what size array...could be 64 drives in a RAID 10 array.

Now a bot is putting up a lot of .02 bids?

Re: Instawallet claim process

What I would like to know is where is the proceeds of my withdrawal I made on the 29th Mar from Bitcoin-central. If this is an instawallet issue why am I affected?

I am also waiting on a response about this. I have emailed, phoned and Pm'd. No reply as yet.  Angry
I replied to your PM.
Additionnally, I am opening a thread about bitcoin-central resuming services.

Hi

I'm afraid you didn't reply to my question at all.

I understand your claim process for wallets but I asked specifically about money that was sent out of a wallet before the hack. I believe I am not the only one to have asked about this.

This money was sent from my wallet to another wallet of mine. Another transfer that was sent after was received in the same destination wallet.

There can be no doubt about the ownership of this money and as it should have been processed before I would like this dealt with as a matter oif urgency.  Sad

I was another wondering about this as well.
I still have the page open with "Your transaction has been saved and will be sent shortly" showing and I don't really feel like waiting 3 months for something that should've been sent out before this all occurred.

Re: Where to buy from Amazon using BTC with Amazon Prime?

So I think I've decided that the easiest way to do it is buy an amazon gift card with BTC and then just order directly from amazon.  Is this site below legit? Or can anyone recommend somewhere else to buy an amazon gift card with BTC?

http://btcbuy.info/GiftCards.cshtml

Thanks
btcbuy was a great service. Used them several times with 100% satisfaction.

They shut down yesterday. Won't be back.

http://blog.btcbuy.info/

Aww man, I see that.  Any idea where else I could get an Amazon gift card with BTC?
Seconding this request.
It's a damn shame btcbuy shutdown, especially after they had just raised the limits.

Is there any way to avoid the 90 day delay if, for instance, we had 5BTC in the instawallet and had sent the 5BTC elsewhere but the transaction did not broadcast?
Put in our claim the address/url and the amount and where we had sent it in order to get it more..immediately?
For instance, I had used the same instawallet 2-3x at least and sent to the same place each time as well as this last time that did not broadcast.

Did they really say it went up 20-40% in the last month or was I hearing the guy wrong? Seems y'know..a bit understated when it was closer to 180%?

Or, Bitcoin's technology could be hacked, allowing Bitcoins to be stolen from their owners.
Or someone could make counterfeit Bitcoins.
Or the anonymous creators of Bitcoin, who reportedly still own lots of Bitcoins, could decide to create a lot more Bitcoins, thus debasing the value of each unit of the currency.

Pretty bad "facts" to mention. Guess they didn't really do that much research. #2 can't "feasibly happen" (or at all?) and obviously #3 is not possible unless a hard fork occurs and everyone the majority agrees with it.
If SHA was broken for #1 we would have much larger issues than bitcoin being in trouble..

Sorry for the bad prices. Lately, we are getting a lot of orders, and we are running out of capacity. So, it's either reduce the rate or stop accepting orders altogether. If you see a bad rate, best course of action is to wait

Makes sense. That's exactly what I've been doing. Working out wonderfully so far.
Should I expect that "rounding error" to remain in there or will that eventually get fixed? Less important being able to do $2000-2500 at a time instead of 10 $500 transactions for instance but still there.

Is there a reason that the rate is $84.96 right now when it used to (a week ago?) be about what the exchanges were at? (would/should be 93-95 or so now I guess)

Also: Current Amazon $2000 price is 23.56BTC. This is 2001.6576 USD at the 84.96 rate.
Should be 23.54048964218455743879472693032 = 23.54 (or 23.55 if you rounded up) not the 23.56BTC
$500 should be 5.885BTC (5.89 I suppose) not 5.9 as listed
$100 should be 1.17 or 1.18 but is 1.19

and so on. It is a small amount, sure, but it adds up when you do many transactions. Seems like it's round up to nearest .01BTC and add .01BTC although a week or 2 ago the difference was slightly greater if I'm remember right.

Other than the (now) large discrepancy in rate used vs current exchange rates and the slight, let's say, "rounding error", it is a great service that I've used many times and will continue to use once(if) rates are back to normal.

Re: why I sold my bitcoins....

At strategic points during the last month or so when I felt we were heading for a downturn(usually Thursday nights) I simply bought some toys at the bitcoinstore. At first I would look at the price after I bought and shake my head, but now I just play with the gear I got and feel good about supporting the BTC economy. Feels a whole lot better than selling for garbage fiat and if the price had tanked I'd be patting myself on the back for exchanging the coins for gear.

Great thing to do. I've been trying to do the same but can't find anything to buy on there. Seems a lot of the higher end things are missing (4TB SAS drives, 500G samsung pro SSD for example) preventing me from buying. Although, so far that's done me well with the (not so) slow increase in value.

@OP..lucky you had the chance to buy them. I was waiting for an email (like they said they'd send?) to buy a few of the 4 module ones and never got anything so I obviously missed my chance.
Anyone get an email from the newsletter about the pre-orders opening?
