Not sure why I assumed you nerds couldn't just give a direct answer... Anyways you put the bootstrap.dat file in the following directories based on your O/S

C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\Bitcoin    <--- Windows

~/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin/    <--MAC

Re: Linux mining distro for the Raspberry PI - MinePeon

Code:
#!/bin/bash
sleep 10
/usr/bin/screen -dmS miner /opt/minepeon/bin/bfgminer -S all -S antminer:all --set-device antminer:clock=x0981 -c /opt/minepeon/etc/miner.conf

Is this correct? If so why doesn't it detect my antminer? Also I'm getting a 100% error with my Redfury.

How do I update my minepeon to the most current version of cgminer through the command line?

If you are running the latest version (0.2.4.6) login via ssh and you will see a command menu.  You can do it from there.

Neil

Nothing in the 0.2.4.6 Minepeon Console Menu says anything about updating/upgrading to most current verision of cgminer. I see options to update the Minepeon, Minepeon Configuration, Archlinux. I did them all and it still doesn't have the latest version of cgminer.

well the sooner you guys get it to work with CEX.IO I will pay. Til then Sorry not interested. There is a strong need for something like this with CEX!!

CEX?

Good luck with that. This bot is for bitcoin trading not GH/S trading.

In case you didn't get the memo. CEX doesn't only do GH/s trading. They also offer BTC/NMC, LTC/BTC, and BF1/BTC trading..... Shocked

I need some help with minepeon. I plugged them in, RPi recognised all of them but they are hashing at BE speed only (~334 MH/s).
MinePeon 0.2.4.3
cgminer3.9.0
Is there further config necessary? Anyone knows how to solve that issue?
Thanks!

Use the latest bfgminer 3.10.0 it will work I promise.

Anyone got any tips on serious cooling

I am inept with electronics but my mate is totally fine, and from what i gather if i get him to change a resistor and i can clock the miner up to 4 ghs.

Correct me if im wrong (which i probably am)

At the moment I have 2xAntminer running at 2Gh with zero errors, and got another 4 coming this week.

My current "cooling solution" although ghetto it works really well, (Can touch the miners and not even warm)

My cooling rig involves involves a decent desk USB Fan, and a 2ltr Coke Bottle with the top and bottom cut off, one end of the bottle the fan is sealed to the front of the fan (To avoid effecting the air intake) and the Teknet 3.0 USB hub in the other. Small whole cut in the top of the bottle so I can connect the fan to the USB hub.A picture below. I have moved it from its normal position for the photo, normally not got a kitchen sponge as a stand

What everyone think about it

lol that's pretty ghetto, why not just use an artic breeze fan?

Have you been able to overclock with minepeon? If so can you provide instructions/command that is needed

I used bfgminer as the default miner in minepeopn latest 2.5.0 pr1 pre-release, with the same parameters as shown in this thread in the settings page and it seemed to be overclocking to similar rates as in Windows.  I don't have minepeon running now, so can't quote the exact command, however I basically copied it from my win settings.

Cheers
Ran minepeon again, using bfgminer as the default miner, and this is the entry in Settings (line added just before the bfgminer command line which was already there)

--set-device antminer:clock=x0981
/usr/bin/screen -dmS miner /opt/minepeon/bin/bfgminer -S all -c /opt/minepeon/etc/miner.conf

You'll need to change the x0981 to your desired clock value as posted elsewhere in this thread.

Cheers

Did you set your clock value to the max. I'm debating should I set it to the max.

Hi - sorry for cross-posting this from another thread, but got zero responses there.

---

Received (4) more Antminer U1s in today's mail.  Had a machine all ready and tested, running 2, with free slots and a nicely cooled powered USB hub just waiting for them.

Unpacked, allowed them to warm to room temp, shutdown bfgminer on the machine and plugged them in.  Restarted bfgminer and got a segmentation fault (and a hung ssh window).

Backed down to 2 and it works fine.  Added one more and it seg faulted.

Grabbed the hub, loaded it with 5 Antminers, and plugged it into machine #2, cranked up bfgminer there, and all was well (until the hub power supply gave up)

Tried 3 on machine #3 and it had no problem.

So...

#1 Any suggestion on what might be wrong on machine #1?

#2 USB power hub (solved after reading threads for a few hours)

BTW - all three machines were freshly reinstalled with Gentoo Linux within the past couple of weeks.  All are using bfgminer 3.10.0 pulled from Github.

Thanks all!

Cassey
Hi ho, hi ho... its off to mine we go!

What are some pointers on the USB powered hub?

Donations are made to help you not make you rich....

This is just a sad statement from a community member. You obviously have no idea how much time folks invest in these projects.

I have an idea, but donations are to help you with your project not make you rich. Making you rich would insinuate the proceeds of your donations are going directly to your pockets strictly for financial gain rather than towards the combination of the project and your time.

P.S PLEASE leave some donation time, as I said to another user in another thread;-

I try not to think about it. 1,591 downloads just in the last week alone according to SourceForge, if 1% of people donated 15 minutes of time I would be a rich man. Perhaps it is me they don't like :p .

Donations are made to help you not make you rich....

Re: How to overclock bitfury asic usb miner?
by
mikejones
on 23/01/2014, 05:17:28 UTC
I had a bitfury bluefury and I could overclock in bfgminer by changing oscillator bits by pressing M and then O while bfgminer running. Stock is 50 which runs at about 2 gh/s. By changing to 53 or 54 you can achieve 2.5 gh/s. This also works on a redfury and icefury. Any higher you will need additional cooling.

The soldering option may also work as mentioned above ( thanks to Colin Miner for detailed advice ) but this might be an easier option.

Can you give us a step buy step please.

I have no intention of keeping Bitcoins long term I cash them in for fiat just about daily. I'm now starting to buy items on overstock with my BTC as well.
