I've seen this link on several IOTA posts where you can supposedly check the sync status of the node you are using.  However, whenever I click this link the only thing I see is,

Data sources updated every 30 minutes. Reach me at IOTA slack or show some love:
IOTA: BAWURRYDYASRBQHHC9UFTGJGE................

What is the deal with this??

Try this link - http://www.iotasupport.com/lightwallet.shtml

Or check your own wallet.
To check the synced status, you can compare the two milestone numbers (in the nodeinfo under Tools) in your wallet to the most recent milestone number in the #botbox of the Slack. If all the three numbers are same, your wallet or your server is synced. If they are not same you need either wait for them to be same or change a server.

Much better!  Thanks for info...

Anyone else experiencing over a 24 delay moving IOTA from wallet to Binance?  I've never cashed in any yet and I wanted to see how it worked to go from IOTA to BTC instead of my usual BTC to IOTA.  I successfully transferred from wallet to Binance yesterday morning and tried again yesterday afternoon but it STILL says Pending?

Is there a Re-attach technique for transferring IOTA out of wallet like there is for retrieving IOTA into wallet?

Of course you should reattach

Well when I hit SEND on wallet there is not option for reattachment, like there is when you hit RECEIVE.. just a blank line for an address.  I've already established the address to send to, and would like to avoid sending IOTA out twice to two different addresses.

Hey admins and IOTA fans. Can you give me a reliable IOTA paper wallet just like MyEtherwALLET for Ethereum ETH? I'll put some bag from it in long term.

It'll just get hacked, wouldn't bother

Dude, you made a mistake. Everyone should know that you can't send from an address twice or send to an address you have already sent from. Stop acting like there is an attack vunerability in Iota. There is not. Follow the instructions and your coins are safe. Don't and lose them. Take responsibility.

Question... I have been adding to my IOTA wallet at various times over the last few months and I have not verified that I am using a new address each time.  I have assumed that when I "Generate Address" and "Attach to Tangle" a new address is used each time... is this correct??  And would this be true for sending too?

Thanks for any help

IOTA reaching 1.42 USD on Bitfinex today; up we go again; this coin is so amazing! Smiley

It looks like the run to $2 will materialise in the wake of a further appreciation of Bitcoin. But it will be a hard fight with so many IOTA floating around.

With the news of CME opening Bitcoin futures from December 18th, I think prices will go a little bit up.

BINGO re CME

Can someone tell me why this token does not have as much clout as bitcoin? From everything I have read the DAG is better than blockchain.

because it has significant risks for now, that bitcoin doesn't
- iota is still centralized working with a coordinator. Until we see it work without, we don't event have a proof of concept
- wealth is currently in hands of very few people. Iota was poorly distributed which may create liquidity problems later
- there are unresolved technical problems - see transactions hanging for days, balances that need to be recovered routinely, etc
- there was big snafu on the technical side where they decided to roll their own encryption algo, which in the security/technical world is a capital sin. A lot of credibility was lost with this

Excellent points.  Lots of excited hype out there but you should still view IOTA through a rational prism.

Im transfering IOTA coins to my wallet its currently pending. but on my wallet this message keeps popping up saying "Bundle Details" and then a button saying "REBROADCAST" ... whats this mean? do i have to press it?

I`m having the same problem. I never could transfer any single IOTA from Bitfinex to IOTA Wallet

I made many withdrawals in the past almost instanly and no prob, theyre just now a bit saturated probably! Patience, I know.. sucks but sometimes exchanges need to do a bit of balcklog dispatching

I am having the same problem except I'm trying to send from IOTA wallet to an exchange.  It has been 14 hours now with no confirmations.

I have had luck logging off and then logging back on and reattaching.  You may also want to change to a different node.

Either you buy from someone here on the board ( I sell a small amount, let me know via pm if you are interested ) or buy on Bitfinex.com that is currently the best exchange to buy IOTA imho.

Hi
A newbie here. How and where can I buy MIOTAs?

Thx in advance

Are you selling at market pricing?

This can help you - https://www.reddit.com/r/Iota/comments/78zjsx/get_your_balance_back_how_to_3_simple_steps/

If my last IOTA transaction was Sept 5th using wallet 2.5.1, should I follow the above directions to retrieve my IOTA or would it be easier to wait for the new wallet to come out next week.  Currently, I get "NO CONNECTION" on wallet 2.5.1.

Thanks for the help!

Yesterday I tried to transfer some IOTA from Bitfinex to my IOTA wallet (2.4.0).  The transaction showed "confirmed" in my wallet but with an amount of zero.  I attached to tangle again and same thing happened.  I then changed to a different node (http://iota.bitfinex.com:80).  Again I attached to tangle and it still shows "pending" 12 hours later.

Should I keep attaching new addresses to the tangle, keep changing nodes, or both.... ?

Any advice would be appreciated

If the tx is "completed" in bitfinex side, and you are seeing it "Pending" in your wallet, you have to reattach, no need to create new addresses, I understand that you already gave them an address you own. Reattach tx, normally is super fast fro me from Finex.

Okay well I've since tried 3 more to reattachments and it seems to automatically generate a new address each time I do this.  How is one able to reattach without generating a new address?

Also, since I gave bitfinex a specific address to send my IOTA, it seems logical that generating new addresses and reattaching would not work.  Does the tangle system know how to find my IOTA at another address when I generate a new address and reattach?

Maybe your are confused with TX hash??

Reattaching a pending transaction does not create a new address. It only re-do the transaction one more time with the same address. It comes out as a duplicated transaction in your history with the same address.

Okay, thanks for input everyone...  I finally got my IOTAs.  I logged out and then logged back in and reattached.

any bag holders here? i want to buy, but cant because bitfinex is against my state.
pay in any crypto i can get or btc
pm me offers
.35 each up to 300 for my 3 daughters.
Thanks

I'm in a similar situation living in Washington State.  I believe the work-around is to just answer "NO" when the pop-up message on bitfinex asks you if you are located in a given state.  Then transfer bitcoin into your bitfinex account and convert to IOTA..

Any other feedback on this?

I'm new at this... once I buy IOTA on on bitfinex, can I then move my IOTA to my wallet and hold it there and then trade it on another exchange (once other exchanges become available)?

Once IOTA is traded on other exchanges that allow wiring in of US dollars, is it possible to base pricing off of the US dollar instead of off bitcoin?  This would provide for a more stable benchmark to value IOTA.
