Hi, VerusCoin team!
I hope for a little improvement.
After receiving the PoW reward, I did not find this address in the output of the "Wallet.dat keys" tab. Save "WIF" is possible only through " CLI" dumpprivkey.
I believe many miners will be strained by this situation ...
Best Regards!

This is default mining behavior on the wallet for all coins, not just Verus. We haven't changed it, but we will look at improving it going forward in a later version. Thank you for the feedback, and I am glad you did get it solved. There is a bounty on the discord for explanations of these kinds of things in the #faq-draft channel, if it hasn't already been posted there.

when the ZETTEL is added to the exchange?

Good question, I have a wallet full of Zettel burning a hole in my pocket. It's like coming back from holiday with a pocket full of funny money and no where to spend it Smiley

We are discussing potential good (and bad) exchanges in the zetteltalk forum:

https://www.zetteltalk.org/viewforum.php?f=4

If you know about an interesting exchange, please add its details in the forum. Thanks!

Also, I started saving a bit of BTC and LTC to have some negotiation capital ready for the exchanges.
It's not much (yet) but I'll just keep on saving, and if some of you guys want to donate towards that cause it will speed up the process for sure.
Read more about it here:

https://www.zetteltalk.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=23

Thanks

Hi, I've got a reasonable amount of Zettelkasten, mined from the earliest days, and I'm also the lead dev for Verus Coin, another CPU-mineable coin (veruscoin.io). We got listed on digitalprice.io, and they seem to be a solid, well built exchange, though new with low volume. I'm mentioning this because you may want to consider it as well. There is the option to get voted on, or you can request to pay a $1000 listing fee, I believe. Neither I nor Verus Coin are affiliated with digitalprice.io in any way, except the fact that VRSC is listed on them, but I just thought you might have interest.

Hi,
do you need to keep wallet open and staking to mature timelocked coins? If yes, is there a way to merge two wallet.dat files having only immature coins on boths?

Ty  Smiley

Answering again because I missed your other question and so you'll see it... you do not need to keep a wallet open to mature coins, but you do need the wallet open to stake already matured coins.

Hi,

this morning two lines appeared in my wallet transactions list, but they're still immature after more than 700 confirmations. Destination adresses don't seem to be mine, and the addresses have a different format, beginning with letter "b". What are them?

https://i.imgur.com/60p8FPz.png

I'm having the same problem.

https://imgur.com/a/N5isvCz

I think it's because all these 'b' transcation was locked, for details, read some reply above, and you will see why, it's not a mistake or bug

Sorry I missed that in the first post - thanks for clarifying!

Quoting portion of OP's post here for others to reference as well:

Quote
Reward:           1 week smooth linear ramp from 0 to 384, then halving every month (43,200 blks)
for the following 5 months and every 2 years thereafter. All rewards over 192 Verus
are time locked to mature at a random block between 129,600 and 1,181,520

OK! So, the number next to immature must be the block that line will be released to the wallet.

So all coins that we will get for POW mining will be locked?
What's the point of mining if I can't use my coins 2 years?

It won't be to get rich quick for any of us, but the blocks right now are time locked because they are so large. I'm not worried about the time locks, and I have to deal with them the same as you. With them, early participants will be rewarded for participating, but there will never be a flood of supply that overruns the potential for miners or stakers to reap rewards from their immediate work. The time locks now are in exchange for the larger, early rewards. You can also wait until rewards are 96 coins per block, and there won't be time locks at that time. You also might get lucky and get one that opens in 3 months.

I can't (read: don't want to) open that URL because it has a self signed SSL certificate, it seems. Can you maybe install a real one (use certbot from let's encrypt, it's free!), so we know that our connection isn't hijacked?

Thanks Smiley

Please solve the https problem, thanks!

I'm bumping this, since it seems quite simple to solve and seems important (for some users, including me). Thank you for taking the time to address this.

Thank you. We are going to look into your suggestion, but we have had some things come up. Also to address a few other questions quickly before we post an update:

1. The person who posted a photo asking "what is this?", you were lucky and staked two blocks!
2. Those asking about encrypted wallet support, I will get back to you. I believe we should have no trouble to enable that, but I'm not sure of the time frame.
3. People asking about not being able to send from a z-address... I'm not questioning if it happened, but we haven't seen that problem, and there were a lot of z-transactions over the past couple days. Please PM me, and we can discuss.

We are about to post an update on the launch and what we're planning going forward. It was incredible to see how well our system and its new algorithms worked under pressure. We also appreciate jl777's comments about what we've achieved. The Komodo platform gave us a solid, comprehensive base from which to build our technology, and their team has been great and super supportive. We couldn't be happier that we chose Komodo as a base upon which to develop our technology, and we hope to bring significant value to the Komodo ecosystem as we grow and contribute technology back for others to use.

Thanks, I got this:

{ "blocks": 1007, "currentblocksize": 1000, "currentblocktx": 0, "difficulty": 7641174492.147189, "errors": "WARNING: abnormally high number of blocks generated, 463 blocks received in the last 4 hours (240 expected)", "genproclimit": 4, "localhashps": 1597553.142076155, "networkhashps": 2177612415, "pooledtx": 0, "testnet": false, "chain": "main", "generate": true }

Why did I create too many blocks?

That message is about the whole network. We have thousands of peers at this point, and the network has had an incredible, immediate hash rate that just keeps growing. Until it stabilizes, the difficulty algorithm is working to slow down block time by making it more difficult, but in a new launch, you can always expect faster block times until things stabilize. If I realized that we would have had this response, I probably would have put higher thresholds on the warning. Right now, aside from way more mining than expected and difficulty accessing connections due to so many peers, things are working as well as could be expected in the network itself. We are doing our best on the other issues.

Dev, Can we have a little help please.
have downloaded walet
first screen

SuperNET Agama
 Quick access
Welcome. Please add a coin to start.

Activate Coin
OR USE A SHORTCUT
Native Mode
Select...
Lite (SPV) Mode
Select...

I assume select native mode (VRSC)

Then screen with settings top right appears, done the vsrc cli stuff, then i guess back to "wallets" tab, which just sticks at connecting to peers....
have restarted wallet several times, but nothing...where do i check hashrate....
How do i stop hashrate, setgenerate true 8 to start but setgenerate false 8 erros....cli response window never shows anything......
Like i say a little help wouldnt go amiss, like screen shots, etc

J

We are experiencing thousands of peers connecting to our nodes, and they only have so many connections. We are working on getting more nodes up, but we are having the same trouble. The entire problem you are experiencing is almost certainly caused by too many miners. The number of computers is real, and way beyond what we expected. Right now, best thing is to keep trying to get on. We are working to make the connections easier, but there's really a lot of traffic.

Mining instructions:
Install and run the Verus-enhanced Agama wallet with mining support
Upon first run, select Verus as your coin
In the upper right corner of Agama, go to the top menu and select settings

How should I install Verus-enhanced Agama wallet with mining support?
Should I simply run Agama.exe?
Should I download Zcash params keys?

go to http://veruscoin.io
download the wallet for your OS
put it into a directory and run agama on Linux/Mac or Agama.exe on Windows.

to the people who say we're pre-mining with GPUs. Uh... No. I am quite certain there is no GPU miner. As the main dev, I even had a 35% optimization on CPUs that I finished before launch, and I didn't hold that for us alone because we wanted to be fair, so you're welcome. We did not expect this response, and we are not getting near the coins that we hoped we could. That is not due to GPUs. Someone obviously is putting a lot of machines on this, or a lot of people are doing so. I can complain right along with you, but I'm just trying to mine.

EDIT: If there is a single person or small group who is mining all these coins, I hope you'll consider helping the project out with a donation. It would likely make your coins worth more in the long run.

I get the following warning/error under info: WARNING: abnormally high number of blocks generated, 445 blocks received in the last 4 hours (240 expected). Is that normal?

Startup goes from zero hash to way more than I would have expected, so you could say it's normal or not, but it's a result of the amount of hash power we're getting, not any malfunction. Difficulty algorithm is working well in light of the network being almost 0.5 GH/s already on CPU-mining.

@rascability - you're mining.

how do you check your hash rate in the wallet?

go to the same place you did "setgenerate" and enter "getmininginfo". It will return your local hashes per second as well as other information.

I'm not seeing a hash rate this is what I get :

CLI response:
{ "blocks": 419, "currentblocksize": 1000, "currentblocktx": 0, "difficulty": 1105896351.960242, "errors": "WARNING: abnormally high number of blocks generated, 342 blocks received in the last 4 hours (240 expected)", "genproclimit": 3, "localhashps": 1217472.649549769, "networkhashps": 253875054, "pooledtx": 0, "testnet": false, "chain": "main", "generate": true }

unless it's the localhashps": 1217472.649549769 ?

second problem is that one of my pc's will not synce and cannot find any peers other two pcs have 8 peers / connections ( not a windows firewall issue have tried with it fully disabled )

That is your hash rate.

We are looking into network issues right now. Seems we got a bigger response than expected. We've upped max connections on our nodes, so you may want to try now.

I think what's going on is that you're not connecting to peers properly either. It seems the nodes are getting flooded with traffic right now. Looking into it now.

The hash algorithm is extremely fast on CPUs. I get about 1.4 MH/s on my notebook on 3 of 4 cores.

started wallet, it is connected and entered the "setgenerate true 6" in cli command, selected verus. Where can i see that the wallet is mining,. After executing i can´t see any cli response???

You should be mining now. You can verify by going to the same place and entering "getmininginfo". I'm mining on my notebook, and I've got some blocks already. If you're running 6 cores, I'd be interested to know your hash power. Smiley

The AGAMA wallet shows me always only "Unable to establish RPC connection!"  Huh

Regarding unpacking. I've done that just a minute ago.

On RPC connection, please try to close, wait a minute, and restart. It should be able to connect from anywhere that isn't blocking port access to 27485;

Most probably you mined another block which contained 10 webd fees and them became again a rounded number,
OK. That makes sense. Thanks. BTW, I think it's important that 10 WEBD of default fees be fixed.

As I answered here before you can change it manually. It is set by default to 10.

I have no problem setting it myself. I just think it is a mistake to have that as the default, and a statement that fees on your network should default to so high negatively impacts the perceived value of your coin. Just trying to help the coin.

Did the team somehow reimburse people for the large fees? My wallet balance was 10 WEBD off after paying that much to send a transaction. Now, I'm no longer missing 10 WEBD, and my balance is a clean multiple of the block reward. Unless the team sent coins to addresses that paid unreasonable fees, how could this have happened? Just looking for an explanation, or possibly someone to thank.

I am not sure exactly what are you meaning but if is what I think most probably you received bounties or a transaction from someone.

I had a balance than ended in 990 because of the 10 WEBD that I paid for a transaction. Now, I only have round numbers, and no transactions are shown, including the one that cost me 10 WEBD. When I posted, I didn't consider the fact that a blockchain reorg (edit) may have happened, but it had been some time since my transaction. I also see that I can only look at the last 20 blocks for transactions, which makes what happened harder to figure out.
