Re: How many people are asking you about Bitcoin now?
by

I remember about this time last year, I was telling friends and family to get into Bitcoin before the price hit $500. Most of them said they would, and some even asked me to help them to purchase it. I've set up 2 of my friends at the time, one of which converted all of his british pounds into BTC. The others? They never pulled the trigger. I reminded them to get into Bitcoin earlier this year before the price hit $1,000. None of them listened. Now that the price is flirting with $2,000, I'm reminding them again, and some of them are finally listening.

Oh, and the friend that put $50k into Bitcoin at under $500/coin? He hooked me up with a coin, and I couldn't be happier Smiley

Re: Could Bitcoin ever replace conventional money?

Bitcoin itself? Probably not a possibility, unless many issues are resolved. The major issue? Confirmation times are just preposterously slow. Unless there is a way to scale the amount of volume of transactions happening simultaneously per block, it's impossible to become a widely-used currency.

However, the future of currency will be digital. Fiat cash won't prevail as the king for long, as most fiat currencies are highly-flawed. But to answer your question, it is highly unlikely that bitcoin itself will replace money.

this confirmation/transaction holdup is starting to get on my nerves. i tried to purchase more hashrate, but after a couple of days, the transaction still has not been confirmed. just to clarify, once the tx goes through, will i still receive the amount of hashrate I purchased at the time of the transaction?

I have some bitcoins and found a secure way to keep them. What do I do with them now?

whats your plan for bitcoin? did you buy them just to be be able to spend them? i hightly doubt that youd go through the whole conversion process just to spend them on something else. don't be like me and sell them for a small profit, if you decide to hold them. there are lot of problems with confirmation times and transactions times at the moment, so try not to use them for any small purchases, or the fee-to-transaction ratio is gonna be tremendous. honestly, i would just hold them and see where it goes from there. the price, regardless of all the bs going on at the moment, should continue to rise, as it is the gold standard of cryptocurrencies.

this definitely isn't the bitcoin that i remember. the soft fork needs to happen. unfortunately, there's no way to know if this is actualy spam transactions or whether theyre real transactions. the unfortunate part is that now hashflare is charging an arm and a leg to withdraw, as i'm sure most other service providers are doing, as well. *sigh*

I've installed the latest version. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version. I've left it open overnight, only to come back to the same screen. Anyone experiencing the same issue?

I've been earning a couple thousand satoshi per day from this faucet. Definitely the highest paying faucet that's around these days. I hope you're able to keep it going, OP! Thanks for the rewards Smiley

How about posting it here so that we can see the quality of your work for $10. Not a bad price for a logo, but i've hired $5 and $10 services before and, yep, i got $10 worth of services lol. No offense, but i'd like to see the quality of your services! i have a project for you if its good.

Re: Weird Blockchain Error???
by
mikey5287
on 17/05/2017, 03:36:37 UTC
So you rtard deposited some coins to your address and basically received it after a few hours of delay and that's weird?
How old are you four?
Mmm rtard did you ever learn to read? Blockchain still says ZERO confirmations, even tho the coins have arrived and been sitting in my wallet almost a day now. You sure you arent 4?

If you're using a Blockchain wallet, it will show in your account, but you won't be able to spend it until you have at least 3 confirmations. If you click on that particular transaction, you'll probably see that it has "0/3" confirmations. To sum it up, yes, Blockchain will show that the transaction has occurred, but it won't be spendable until it's confirmed. Not a weird error at all. That's just the way that the Blockchain wallet works.

hey i just tried your faucet and got 10 satoshi. meh. but i'm sure the rewards will be random with each claim. one thing i did want to tell you was that i accidentally left my uBlock on, and was able to claim just fine from your faucet with the adblocker turned on. you might want to add some functionality that disables the claim button if there is an adblock present on the visitor's browser. thanks for the new faucet!

Re: The fees are crazy, 420 satoshis/byte, WHY?
by
mikey5287
on 17/05/2017, 00:44:54 UTC
According to https://bitcoinfees.21.co/, it needs 420 satoshis/byte to get fast confirmations.  Anyone know why the fees are going higher and higher?

http://savepic.net/9301554.jpg

This happens when there are a lot of unconfirmed bitcoin transactions. As of right now, there are over 200,000 unconfirmed transactions. You can check for yourself here: https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions

The more transactions there are, the higher recommended fees are going to be.

That's why.

Good simple design, but I have a couple of recommendations. First, get rid of the autoplay video feature. I hate when websites play sound; the worst part about your site? It's a hidden video that isn't displayed on the page. check your code for that.

second, have you considered using faucet hub as a micropayment processor? i use a lot of facut hub faucets, so this would be a great addition to my list. I'm sure others will agree with me. thanks!

Yes. These are my friends account. And I have also told you that they all created new gmail account and same name for creating account freebitco.in.  I have helped them to register all of these account by my phone but now they are using those accounts through their phone.
Sure, everyone believes these accounts are your "friends"

-snip-

You main account which was used fairly was left intact. You even created all these accounts as referrals of a different account so that it couldn't be linked back to your main account.

Also all the accounts were accessed from devices having the exact same browser fingerprint which is highly unlikely if they were being accessed from different devices.

Nope. You got caught. wetsuit presented a pretty great case, with documentation, and everything. It's kind of peculiar that each of the accounts that you've "referred" play within minutes of each other, eh? Nice try, man. Time to tuck your tail and leave the thread.

"scam"... hahaha nice try.

It's odd that yobit won't add this - it would bring a ton of volume for them.

From my understanding, it was never presented to them. Maybe I'm wrong. What are the steps to get this accepted into YoBit? I've got a few thousand Mrai waiting to be sold, and I don't trust the two exchanges that are currently trading XRB. Not that I trust YoBit any more, but they'd be a more welcomed addition.

Well, I bought some COXST because I wanted to believe in the greater good of cryptocurrency, and CoExist was a great plan to do so. Phil, I hope you are able to deal with whatever it is you need to with your immediate family, but please don't forget about your family here, as well. A lot of people have put their good faith in you, and you are leaving us high and dry. Please fix this.

It's been about six months since I've opened my RaiBlocks wallet. Left it open for several hours, and it's not syncing. The userflow on the wallet version I have is pretty uneventful and poorly designed; I cannot tell if my seed is backed up. To be honest, I'm scared to download and install the latest version of my wallet. On a Mac. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks
It's backuped if you paste seed in some text editor after copying to clipboard.
Of course you have to use newest version with better sync.
Post your GUI suggestions here: https://github.com/clemahieu/raiblocks/issues

I've got several addresses in the wallet. Do I need to backup the seed for each of the addresses? I honestly wish it was better documented. Hoping the new UI is better than the one I have installed.

Do you have a projected reward amount for users who will give up their computing systems for the cloud storage? Do we need to stake our own tokens in order to start a storage contract? What's the projected minimum buy-in? I haven't been this excited about an altcoin announcement in a while. Will the ticker be $STJ or $STORJ?

Now the media will go crying all day about how Bitcoin is being used for such bad, illegal activities. Though it is weird to me why asking for only $300 in Bitcoin – seems way too small for such attacks on 'important companies and institutions.' These companies still hold responsibility for their own security.

It is a good point you made here ,it is extremely ""small potatoes" for s stunt so HUGE.  It's baffling that nobody is scrutinizing the gentleman who they say is the hero who discovered the fix. I will explore that in a soon coming update

I don't know how the hackers are targeting these systems, but could it be that they're asking for $300 worth of Bitcoin for each computer affected on the network?

And this is exactly why Apple never wanted to provide a backdoor to the NSA for the San Bernardino attacks. The NSA created one anyways (https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/mar/28/apple-fbi-case-dropped-san-bernardino-iphone). How naive must an agency be if they truly believe that there are not experts out there that know systems better than them.

I don't think this will become a hit against cryptocurrency. The media is not nearly knowledgeable about cryptos enough to build an attack against it or sensationalize it.
