Re: Pegasus & phone wallets
by
milani
on 27/07/2021, 07:40:42 UTC
With the revelation of Pegasus does that mean phone wallets can be compromised so easily?
Not blaming BTC but the security of android as a host system, is so weak?
I know people only carry chump change in them..but in 3rd worlds nations such a El Salvador .. isn't the whole circular economy project based on phone wallets.

Even before Pegasus has been created keeping big amounts of your assets on mobile gadgets has always been really too risky. There are too many apps in your mobile phone that have such an opportunity to steal your data. Of course it depends on the exact gadget, some percentage of wallets like mobile apps have some level of protection, even you may have the 2FA, but nevertheless still it is a really too risky, because if not hacked but you may just lose your phone or it may be broken, and your assets may be lost as well. The best way to keep safely your assets is via cold wallets. Nowadays it is the strongest guarantee. And of course remember about simple rules - be conscious and do not open strange links or whatever you are not sure that it may be safety. And everything will be OK.

Re: Never Trade On Emotions
by
milani
on 26/07/2021, 20:15:19 UTC
I would like to give you some advice, Especially to those who are new in the market. Whenever there is a pump in the market, you think you should invest in ALTs And you may benefit from it. But after your investment, the market goes down. When you see the market go down, you think you are losing money, so you sell everything. Again, when you see the market go up, you invest. This way you get hurt again and again. So whenever you have to invest, invest a small portion of your portfolio. So even if the market goes down, you have your portfolio. Never trade on emotions. Calculate well and then invest in it.

The biggest mistake in every direction connected with money to do something on emotions, and of course trading crypto is not the exception. You are right lots of people buy on the encrease and sell on the decrease, when it should be better to do just on the contrary. You bought for example, and market started encreasing, in this situation it should be better to fix profit. In case the market started decreasing it is better to buy more of this altcoin in case you believe in this alt and project. Everything is not really to complicated. In any case if trading makes you to be stressed or nervous too much it is better not to trade at all. 😁🙂

Re: Independent Reserve Survey, 58% Singaporeans own Bitcoin
by

I did not catch what does it mean in the article, I mean how this looked like: "Singapore’s central bank, the Monetary Authority of Singapore, has even given cash rewards to individuals who pitch digital currency proposals". Were these individuals the bank workers or just individuals from the street. 😁😁 But it sounds a bit funny and interesting. I would like to become such a Singapore individual. Hope the reward was pleasant. And as a truth this small country has always impressed me very much really.

Re: will bitcoin ever go down like 2018-2020
by
milani
on 26/07/2021, 19:40:12 UTC
so yea like will ever just stabilize really low like in 2018 and 2020? or are we at the low?

In my opinion the low may be lower than $30000-$20000, but not like in 2020. At least it is unlikely for sure that  the BTC's price will be lower than in 2018. Bitcoin nowadays and in future lower than $3000 it is hard to imagine.

Re: Is Bitcoin bull market back
by
milani
on 26/07/2021, 19:32:05 UTC
Bitcoin now reached $40370, but I would not say exactly that the bull market backed. Of course it would be great to see Bitcoin rising more, but I am not sure it will reach again $64k too soon. In case some people bought on the decreasing market on the nearly $30k, it would better to fix now 50% in order to get at least some profit.

Re: What are the difficulties with Amazon accepting Bitcoin payments?
by
milani
on 26/07/2021, 19:21:02 UTC
This may be a rumor,But does not hinder our discussion.
Amazon may soon allow users to pay in cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin

The most important news today is Amazon’s focus on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, and will accept Bitcoin payments at the end of the year.
Within a few hours of the news, the price of Bitcoin rose from 32,000 to 40,000.

3.Can U.S. regulators pass Amazon’s idea? They accepted Tesla's Bitcoin payment before. But, Amazon and Tesla are different. Tesla may have fewer customers and a single product. But Amazon’s customers are thousands of ordinary people.

May be in the far future it will happen when Bitcoin will be more accepted in the bigger part of the world, and more legalised in lost of countries. What is Amazon? The trading platform. Big trading platform. Of course they are different with Tesla and the interest to these to objects from government is different, there are lots of nuances there in this point. But as a perspective of course it is possible and may happen when it will be really profitable for Amazon and regulators. But nowadays it looks more like a rumour.

Re: Amazon is looking to accept Bitcoin payments by the end of the year
by
milani
on 26/07/2021, 19:11:37 UTC
Can be of interest:

Amazon is looking to accept Bitcoin payments ‘by the end of the year’, and is investigating its own token for 2022, says an insider:

https://www.cityam.com/amazon-definitely-lining-up-bitcoin-payments-and-token-confirms-insider/

Ethereum, Cardano and Bitcoin Cash will be as well in the line for acceptance except Bitcoin as they say. But in my opinion it is still on the level of talks and rumours. Closer to the real deal we will see what it will be. Sometimes such kind of news are just the way to make popularity higher or make some manipulations and that is all.

Re: Do you worry about not being able to convert BTC to fiat in future
by
milani
on 25/07/2021, 17:50:30 UTC
I'm currently receiving some of my income in BTC, and I'm just holding it because I expect it will go up long term and so it is my savings.
But sometimes I'd like to be able to turn it into fiat for daily expenses. I can't yet pay my rent or buy my groceries with BTC (hopefully one day! but not today and not in the near future).
With banks in some countries blocking transactions from known exchanges is there a worry that one day it will become impractical to turn the BTC into fiat? Either just very hard to do, maybe street-corner-deals or at risk of getting your bank accounts frozen?
Do people think about this and have plans to work around these kinds of banking barriers? Or are there ways around it already but I'm not aware?

In some countries yes, it is may be quite an unpleasant problem to cash out Bitcoin. In some countries there are limitations in amount to cash out. In most cases people hodl or use Bitcoin directly without cashing it out. But as for my country for example there are also no services where I can use BTC. And there are limits in case I would use my bank account. Mostly it is because of taxes. People do not want to pay high taxes or declare their crypto.

Re: Ukraine's roadmap of crypto adoption
by
milani
on 25/07/2021, 15:05:18 UTC
The more these "initiatives" by governments are coming forth, the more I realize that the governments are not going to do anything that is a positive for bitcoin, either from the regulatory perspective or in expanding the usage. El Salvador and President Nayib have proven to be a rare exception till now. The rest of the times, the noises made by governments are a result of self-serving politicians with a stake in bitcoin, like in this case.

Great words!! Every time I see new articles about governmental initiatives in Ukraine, every time my thoughts are like yours. Of course I would be happy to see Ukraine in the list of good things of TOP countries. But there were lots of Ukrainian startups and I do not know some of them that really reached high level not only worldwide, but even inside the country. And all governmental initiatives of such kind have one result mostly in the end - a small group of people get the high income, while lots of citizens pay dragon taxes or have strange limitations. The time will show everything. And I would be really glad to be mistaken this time in my conclusions about this article and those governmental plans.

Re: Reasons to Invest in Bitcoin??
by
milani
on 25/07/2021, 14:40:08 UTC
First I want to say that I have some Bitcoin and I want to see it go to the moon. But I have some questions regarding the reasons that people give as to why Bitcoin is a good investment.  Kiss

Reason 1: You are in control of your own money - government overprint cash which devalues the dollar, but big influential people and institutions can devalue Bitcoin with a single tweet. Bad news, issues with mining, and other things out of your control can devalue Bitcoin.

Reason 2: Nobody can take away your bitcoin whereas the bank can confiscate your cash and lock your account - should I worry about my bank doing this if I am not doing anything that is illegal?

Reason 3: You can send it to anyone in the world - why would people want Bitcoin when you cannot use it to purchase in many stores? Plus ii takes too long for 1 transaction to go through.

Please correct me if I am misinformed.  Shocked

Everyone has his personal reason to invest into Bitcoin. To survive, hodl, become reacher, because of believe into Bitcoin etc. But the key moment in this question is new and good opportunities that cash or banks can not give, because those two have borders, limitations and different nuances. Bitcoin give people new opportunities first of all - like time, bordeless transactions, income and so on.

Re: What do you think will happen to Bitcoin in 100 years?
by
milani
on 21/07/2021, 12:48:41 UTC
In my opinion it is hard to predict the future of some things, directions sometimes even in 20 years or so. Because our society is developing so rapidly and historical events appear so dinamic even in short periods of time. What will be in 100 years we less likely will see, our children or our grandchildren will. And it may be quite another world comparing with that we used to see nowadays. But I think it will be more digital and computerized world. And there is a chance for Bitcoin to be in it in 100 years.

Re: Bitcoin brings us true freedom of thought
by
milani
on 19/07/2021, 20:16:28 UTC
Before the birth of Bitcoin, we never thought that private individuals could issue currency, nor did we think that digital currency could truly be used as a payment medium, let alone the rationality of the existence of legal currency. But when Bitcoin was born, everything changed.

We began to doubt the monetary exploitation of us by government agencies. We began to think about the irrationality of various centralized financial institutions. We started fighting for our currency independence. We began to use Bitcoin to protect our wealth from inflation. We began to think about all kinds of injustices in society.

In this process, I think our biggest change is that our minds have been liberated. We began to pursue freedom of thought. We are no longer imprisoned by the opinions propagated by various media. There are countless possibilities in our brains.

I believe that thought is the most powerful tool of mankind, and it is the eternal source of our lives. It brings soul to the development of our entire society. Once social development deviates from the consensus of most people, new ideas will be born, guiding human civilization on the right track of development.

The birth of Bitcoin truly liberated my mind and broke the confinement of my mind. Make the impossible possible. I believe that the highest state of freedom is the freedom of thought, and the decentralized thinking brought about by Bitcoin infinitely magnifies this freedom.

We are free to post and exchange in bitcointalk today, which is to constantly clash of ideas. We have gained real growth in this collision.

This is my view on freedom of thought. What do you think?

I agree that creation of Bitcoin gave to lots of people on the planet opportunities and even changed minds of lots of. But I can not agree that nowadays people are not influenced by media and not manipulated by news or famous people's statements. Not so long ago we saw how many people are stiil do not filter the information from the Internet and are are affected by other opinions. So we have a long path, and there are still e

Re: Why green bitcoin mining has become a trend?
by
milani
on 19/07/2021, 19:49:20 UTC
According to what I know, bitcoin mining needs energy, whether that energy is from the sun, coal, fossil fuels and others, mining needs energy, so using renewable energies will not give you an additional advantage or more profits. Why do some miners leave or use solar energy?
Does anyone have statistics or percentages of the extent of solar energy use, and is all this fuss because of Tesla, or is it media reports trying to gain more views?

First of all Green energy has become a trend of this century and is used by lots of people and even politicians to attract attention to their personalities or even manipulations with peoples decisions. In addition to this green energy is cheaper comparing with electricity for example that is got from stations and with high level of pollution. And Tesla with Elon Musk's tweets played not the last role in all this attention to the green energy among the cryptocurrency miners, hodlers and governmental institutions. So nowadays we see such a situation like we see in the crypto and businesses world.

Re: Tennessee considering to accept Bitcoin for property tax payments
by
milani
on 19/07/2021, 19:37:18 UTC
Mayor Scott Conger of the United States city of Jackson, Tennessee, recently stated that the city’s blockchain task force had begun research on potential means for accepting Bitcoin property tax payments in the city. Jackson is still looking at a potential foray into cryptocurrencies and is now finally considering accepting Bitcoin for property tax payments.

Employees will be able to dollar-cost average Bitcoin purchases or buy lesser amounts of Bitcoin at regular intervals, owing to the blockchain group’s efforts. The greatest technique for accumulating Bitcoin is to purchase it in small increments at a low cost.

Conger pushed for Bitcoin acceptance in May, announcing the formation of a Blockchain task force and changing his Twitter profile picture to the laser-eyes image popular among Bitcoin aficionados.

Source: https://news.todayq.com/news/tennessee-considering-to-accept-bitcoin-for-property-tax-payments

Really interesting news. And more over to read that some governors try to make at least some steps towards Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Of course changes with his account profile picture is not the final result of the idea, but in case he will fulfil this statements and ideas into real life in my opinion it is good news. Despite of lots of nuances.

I do not think that really Ethereum team or some Ethereum lovers hacked the acoount of this singer to promote Ethereum, of course. There are some type of hackers nowadays that do some things just for joy or their own fun or pleasure and that is all. There is such a tendency nowadays among youth. And not only on YouTube or with cryptocurrency such things happen. Or it was some type of hack to make harm to this singer, his reputation, may be.

I first heard of it when I friend of mine said(jokingly) that he could get anyone assassinated for 6BTC on silk road. I asked what it was and he said that it was an online currency that nobody uses. I googled Bitcoin..I have not slept since.
:3
How did you first hear about Bitcoin?

I have heard first about Bitcoin from my friend, his friend was a miner. It sounded first a bit complicated and unclear. and after some period of time I have heard from my friend that lots of people buy this coins and it may give a good profit one day. It sounded like something unreal, but after having learnt in deep about btc and crypto I started to be interested in crypto more seriously.

Re: Bitcoin caused the mass production of altcoins and air coins
by
milani
on 18/07/2021, 15:12:32 UTC
As Bitcoin is gradually becoming known to the public, this financial and economic feast brought by technology geeks.
Bitcoin is like honey, attracting countless butterflies (altcoins, air coins), countless new projects appearing, ICO.IDO.
It feels more like a comet hitting the earth, leaving big pits. It seems that there are countless treasures waiting to be mined.
The greed of human nature, the inducement of big brothers, the participation of whales, all kinds of good news are flying all over the sky, but the result is just a place of chicken feathers.
Perhaps the sharp drop of Bitcoin and endless washings can calm more people down.
How do you think about this issue?

It is usual thing for every direction that is connected with money, assets and so on. There are lots of projects outside the crypto world that create lots of hypes and some kind of ICO, IDO. Of course lots of people would like to create something huge, massive, powerful like Bitcoin, that is why they try to create altcoins and enormous projects to attract money. Of course Bitcoin is a fundamental thing and will be forever. It's like the automobile creation. There are and there will be lots of models of different colours, construction and engines, but the first auto created long-long ago will stay the fundament for all of them.

Re: Why some millionaires hate Bitcoin?
by
milani
on 18/07/2021, 06:44:07 UTC
Some wealthy people have expressed their disdain towards Bitcoin. They believe Bitcoin is a scam or Ponzi scheme backed by nothing. Figures like Warren Buffet, and even Donald Trump himself believe Bitcoin is a sham. I'm surprised to see this, since Bitcoin brings many profit opportunities to its "hodlers". For some reason, millionaires (or billionaires) hate Bitcoin. They usually support Gold and Fiat, not wanting to try something new like crypto/Blockchain tech. Justin Sun tried to convince Warren Buffet to get into crypto a while ago, only to find that his efforts were in vain.

Thoughts? Huh

In my opinion very often rich people do not tell the truth about their assets - the amount or type of them, and make different statements just on their own favour, manipulating by lots people minds. While at the same time having Bitcoins or other assets on their accounts. May be those who support dollar are just cunning or really got a lot income on gold or dollars or whatever.

by

on 18/07/2021, 06:25:10 UTC
I do not think he tricked Andreas,,, he just probably went to an event, asked to take a selfie picture and the nice man said yes. Very normal for a nice person to allow public to take selfies with them. The sad thing Andreas probably realized only later on was that the majority of people who have money to go to all these conferences are the saddest, meanest people in crypto.

Yes, it is more likely that it was in such a way, because photo looks like real. Sometimes it may be not dangerous, but with the range of unpredictable consequences to allow different people make a selfie with you. This man just used the situation.
