Re: Don't Cap Bitcoin: The Game Never Ends

100 years later 1 bitcoin will be at $1 trillion and your kids or grand kids will curse you for not buying it when it was at $120k.

Mark my words.

$1 million is already not a matter of if anymore.

$1 billion? Obviously the next target. Probably will happen in the next 20 years after we reach 1 billion usd.

Then comes $1 trillion.

It surely won’t stop there but I don’t know what comes next after trillion so I dunno. Was quadrillion? Maximillion? Megamillion? Gigamillion? Have no idea.

Re: How can you enjoy the game when you are losing?

It is the adrenaline that makes it fun. As long as you are not wagering too much, it should be enough to trigger that effect. There is a sweet spot which is different for everyone. I can’t tell you where your sweet spot is at.

For example I get excited when I make a $100 bet. It keeps me focused. If I win, the prize varies from $30 to $100 which is not bad at all. If I lose, I lose $100. Just enough to make me worry a bit but also it is nothing in the grand scheme of things. I won’t go bankrupt just because I lost $100.

If lose the bet I just think I bought myself an expensive gift for my own entertainment.

Re: Why are you taking profit on bitcoin?

Making investments is not the only way to live this life. Yes we shouldn’t be buying liabilities no matter how rich we ger but what’s the point if we keep saving like a monk and never enjoy the wealth we created? When we die our kids will be having a feast on what we have left to them. So, we need to have some fun too.

I don’t blame anybody selling his bitcoins for whatever reason for that matter. Lambos, girls, gambling (as long as he is a responsible player), buying a house, a car… These are all valid reason if you ask me.

Gotta enjoy what life has to offer sometimes. It is more fun like that

Investing in water is not a bad idea too. I mean consumer defensive stocks in general is not a bad investment. Food, drinks, toothpaste, toilet paper, housing materials, tobacco, oil, pharmacy, minerals… These are all good businesses that print money. Most of them pay dividends too. So you can create a nice passive income which is enough to pay for your monthly expenses when you own enough shares in these businesses.

It certainly beats owning FIAT in a bank account that’s for sure. Only financially illiterate people do that.

Re: How is wealth distributed through Gambling

I don’t think casinos pay lots of taxes. That’s the whole point. People prefer starting a business instead of having a high salary job because when you own a business you can legally pay little to no income tax. That’s doesn’t mean the government and the poor don’t benefit from the casinos though. They still do.

When a business gets big enough, it has to hire employees and the more employees they hire, the lower the unemployment rates become. Both people and the government benefit. Not through collecting income taxes but reducing the number if unemployed people.

Re: How do i cash out old bitcoin legally without getting destroyed by taxes?

There is no capital gains on crypto in Turkiye. Find a way to become a tax resident in Turkiye and cash it all out and then you can move your funds to whatever destination you choose to.

If you live in a developed country where there are many financial tools, search for a bank that allows you to borrow FIAT against your BTC. It is like a mortgage but instead of your home, your btc acts as the collateral. Some defi platforms probably allow that kind of schemes. You should check it out.

I can’t think of any other way.

MJ died with $500m debt? That’s not what you think it is. He didn’t die poor at all. He wasn’t starving, he wasn’t having a hard time paying his medical bills, he went out like a king and now some other people have to pay for the debt he left behind.

That, my friend, is a solid win.

If you are going to disappear from this world one day, and you will, that’s exactly what you should be doing.

Looks like MJ played the game like a chess master would.

I think the same. Many people think $1m is the final destination for bitcoin. That’s not true, it is just the first step to reach $100 million and eventually 1 billion USD. But do we stop there? We know we won’t, don’t we?

Nothing stops train and the journey to the moon is permanent and that’s actually a good thing.

Meaning anyone can join the journey anytime and still profit from it.

No need to be jealous of the early adopters. You can participate today and become one 10 years later

Was it Hacked or an inside job?

Back in the day many small time crypto exchanges went down like that because either the owner or the employees went rogue and stole the funds from the exchange they own/work for. This might be a similar story.

We’ll learn about it soon enough probably. The good thing is there is probably no forum user uses this exchange so the damage they caused on the community is little to nothing.

(Maybe not so) Interestingly gambling industry don't attract much heat as the tobacco/oil companies do. I think pharma companies are a bit different than the other two and they are already controlling us indirectly.

Depends on where you're from!
Gambling is frowned upon in a lot of EU countries more than the tobacco industry, there are still countries where smoking is not seen as much of a big deal, compared to gambling check Italy or Finland for example

Might be true since I only visited the part of Europe that is popular with the tourists so my view on the subject might be biased because of that. Maybe the silent majority like you said despise gambling as much as they despise tobacco and alcohol.

Still though, they allow casino operations in Europe. Is there a country in Europe where operating a casino is strictly forbidden? I could come up with a name.

Re: BTC as means of payment is a looking more possible than before?

I don’t think bitcoin can handle such high load unless people use lightning network. Is it possible? Yes, but so far businesses aren’t showing LN any love.

Stable coin payment gates on the other hand are not different than credit cards so I don’t understand the big deal tbh. Since all stable coins are centralized, I don’t see any difference between USDC/USDT and credit card payments. It is the same thing, packaged in a different color. Why all the fuss? Do we celebrate whenever a new centralized payment company emerges?

I don’t care about the stable coin part of the new bill as it makes no sense.

Re: Trump shares shocking strategy to take pressure off dollar
by

on 19/07/2025, 03:09:57 UTC
Big if true.

There is that ancient theory that has been around since the beginning which says bitcoin was created by a certain group of people (could be NSA or CIA or whatever) that work for a certain government (the US) to erase that country’s debt.

These headlines are in sync with that theory but it is too early to say they were true.

We will only know it when and if Trump ever accomplishes his idea.

In any event, even if that is the case, I don’t think the US will kill btc to save the dollar. I am not even sure they can kill it at this stage as it is a multi trillion dollar industry now.

Re: How often do you go all in when playing poker?

Never. I learned it long time ago, never go full retard. A little bit of stupidity can be tolerated though. We are not computers in the end, we are humans. We are emotional and act stupid every now and then. We are allowed to make mistakes and be stupid as long as we are doing it reasonably. But going all in? On poker? (It doesn’t matter if it is poker, or an investment vehicle for that matter) That’s the definition of going full retard and I ain’t doing it. I’d rather go a quarter of a tard if I feel like it. Just enough to have fun and survive to make my next bet. You went all in once and lost, then what? You just destroyed the possibility of having future fun. I can’t approve this.

Re: what is your biggest bet in BTC?

I think I’ve made my biggest bets during directbet’s era when things were actually fun and interesting. I can’t really remember the amount but knowing me it shouldn’t be more than $500. Still though, I am not even close to making similar sized bets in the recent years because like I said the industry has lost a bit of its past mojo. I wish they were still around and making gambling great again. Not saying the current generation of casinos are all bad but man, directbet was something different. Something unique. Something fun.

The way it currently is, only bark no bite.

Sorry, after we discussed it we both chose to make peace
I accept your apologize.

They both noticed if things escalated further they' both would receive reputation damage probably and that's why they had to make peace.  Cool

I instantly recognize barkers and biters. And these, these weren't gonna bite.

Just share the damn logs and let the dt decide who is the asshole.

The way it currently is, only bark no bite.

I wanna see some bites.

One of the parties is clearly unpleasant and doesn’t agree with what happened. The other party admits slight wrongdoing but we don’t know if it deserves any dt action.

And if the OP isn’t after any DT action, why create this thread in the first place.

Don’t say I don’t wanna share the logs becuz ethics and shiet, clearly neither of you will care if the other one shares it.

Re: Will E-shopping sites ever accept bitcoin?
by

on 17/07/2025, 18:01:21 UTC
Some already do via bitpay I believe. The thing is bitcoin took a big reputation hit because of the spam attacks that raised the transaction fees temporarily. Lately the fees are way lower but the damage is done already. People think high fees can return anytime, that’s why they hesitate to use btc as a currency. That’s why businesses don’t bother to invest in the infrastructure. It is because bitcoin transaction fees are not reliable. Yes they are cheap now but nobody knows what will happen tomorrow. Businesses would rather invest in credit card payment systems and customers also follow the same path because it is way more convenient. The situation might change for the good in the future but it is what it is now.

Re: Using auto-bet bots on crypto casinos smart or suicide?
by
mindrust
on 17/07/2025, 12:15:38 UTC
Mathematically it is a suicide mission. First of all, like you noticed, there is that thing called “house edge”. It is a weapon for the casino. It has one job. Make your poorer and the casino richer. It might not work on you if you play a few times and quit playing but if you start chasing your losses or get greedy, it will work just as it was designed. The betting bot? It makes the house edge’s job much easier. Actually, it is one of the most stupid thing a gambler can do. Using bots on a luck based game is a straight no-no.

Re: New account and old account, which one is luckier?
by
mindrust
on 17/07/2025, 04:53:04 UTC
I think luck has nothing to do with the account’s age. Some gamblers feel like they have to start new because somehow their current account is tainted. That’s why they start new every once in a while. You can observe the same behavior with the card game players too. Occasionally they ask for a new deck. The idea is the same. The thing is, they almost always do that when they are losing. They never do it if they are already winning. Some players have those superstitious beliefs but what you gonna do? Not everybody operates like a computer only based on proofs and facts.
