Re: [Ann] [Rebranding] Ø Crypto Union; because banking doesn't matter anymore.

This is just a SCAM coin.

This is the 3rd rebranding they've done. It's a pyramid scheme where they don't give anything back to the early investors. They've recommended people use another scam exchange (bitpaction) that has since gone belly up losing people tons of coins. They ban anyone who questions them.

Don't fall for it. If you were unlucky enough to buy anything, sell the first chance you get. It's not that it couldn't be worth anything in the future, it's that every few months they do a new "rebranding" swap which makes the former coin worthless. Then they do some new ICO devaluing the former coin by 10X. They did this first with GXVC at $1.00 USD and then did GXVC at $0.10 USD.

Do the research. Look up anything on Genevieve (GXC, GXVC, GXE) and any other obscure coins they come up with next. See if any of this adds up. It doesn't. Very little out there other than the blogs they post. Nothing but a SCAM coin.

Anyone have issues accessing their coins in the Safex wallet? I entered my password and the address changed and there's NO COINS!

Anyone else have this issue?

Just gonna keep hodling in safex wallet. Good thing there's the tradesatoshi exchange if I want to transfer and dump some of it later. Really shocked it's still trading at 300+ satoshi on there with all the issues.

I think I'll wait until either BTG is worth more or Electrum starts supporting it.
Might play around with that after the new year though just to learn all this a bit more.
I can tell you now that "Electrum" will likely never support BTG. Given ThomasV never even "supported" BCH which was a much "bigger" fork in terms of mining support and value... I very much doubt he has even looked at BTG Tongue

What you need is a 3rd party dev (or the BTG dev crew) to  create a fork of Electrum that works with BTG... like Jonald Fyookball made with ElectronCash. Again, that project like ALL Electrum forks is not developed by the Electrum devs or supported by them.

I'd suggest contacting the BTG via their social media contacts for updates on whether  they intend to release an Electrum compatible wallet.

Thanks.

Yea, I'm just gonna hold off and wait and see if the price jumps more. It'a almost not worth all the work right now for like $100.

Re: Coinomi Segwit BTG support?
by

Electrum won't have a solution... it is BTC only... it is up to the BTG devs (or a third party who cares enough) to create a fork of the Electrum code like "Jonald Fyookball" did for BitcoinCash.

Tried following a tutorial to sweep/import from my Electrum private key, but the address is segwit and it said it couldn't find it.
It starts with a 3. Was thinking of downloading the core wallet, but figured I'd wait for Coinomi or Electrum to have a solution.
Also, since when did Electrum create SegWit addresses that start with a "3"? Huh I thought all Electrum SegWit addresses started with "bc1" and were bech32? Huh Are you sure you don't just have a MultiSig or a 2FA wallet? Huh

Yea.. looks like the one I setup was 2fa.

Guessing you didn't see the thread titled: [TUTORIAL] How to extract Bitcoin Gold from a 2fa Electrum Wallet [STEP BY STEP] Wink

and before you ask... no, there isn't really an easier way to get it out... unless you want to pay someone to do it for you.

Ha! thanks.

yes this airdrop coin have something to prove and say dev and community helo an in hand in marketing and program development im lucky to receive a coin from airdrop and bought some hundreds below $.5

Blue? I think that's been very successful as well; more so than ebtc given the current market cap.

Why any company would accept bitcoin in its current form is beyond me. The transaction fee is almost $20. There's a reason why steem dropped it. They really need to solve the huge transaction fee or integrate with a 3rd party wallet/payment system for it to be viable.

Re: Coinomi Segwit BTG support?
by
mindspin311

Is the SegWit address an "bech32" SegWit address (ie. a "bc1" address) from Electrum? Or is it a P2SH-P2WKH address (i.e a "3" address)?

If it is bech32, then I don't think you can do this... If it is a "3" type SegWit, then I would think that it was possible... Unfortunately, I don't have any BTG in a SegWit address to test with... but theoretically, it should be possible to move the BTG by manually creating a transaction in BitcoinGold Core.

I helped a guy this morning move his BTG from an Electrum 2FA wallet by manually creating and signing transactions, so I would assume that you simply do the same thing in BTG Core but with a SegWit address/private key

It starts with a 3. Was thinking of downloading the core wallet, but figured I'd wait for Coinomi or Electrum to have a solution.

Anyone aware of when/if Coinomi will support Segwit for BTG addresses?
Tried following a tutorial to sweep/import from my Electrum private key, but the address is segwit and it said it couldn't find it.
At this point just hoping they support this so I can get my BTG since other wallets are also not working.

If you were holding coins on a segwit address before october 24th, then it should show up on the bitcoin gold blockchain at least. Have you confirmed that this is the case?

If this is the case.. then just learn how to do it in electrum. As far as I know, since BTG has replay protection, you don't need to move your coins on the BTC blockchain before moving them into the BTG blockchain, so you can simply import the private key in there and get the keys. I don't know what Coinomi is, but if it's some sort of online exchange, I wouldn't trust it.

Electrum doesn't support BTG. Can you provide some link or show where or how you think that's the case?

Has anyone actually been able to get their BTG out of Electrum?

Tried Coinomi, but said wallet did not have funds (similar to what someone else hosted)

You can only do it through coinomi if you have a "1" address... I have a "1" and was able to retrieve some of my BTG... but my other wallet has a segwit address "3" and I can't retrieve any of them.... and I'm scared that I exposed my PK to public sites already and they will steal my BTG.... (bitaddress)

I looked up the public address on a block explorer and it shows that it is there... so I don't know what to do.... I even downloaded the BTG core wallet and tried to importprivkey and it didn't work either...

Thanks for the info. My address does start with a 3. Hopefully they decide to support it in the future. Now I just wish I never took my BTC off of Bittrex, since they have already given out appropriate BTG.

Re: Trusted Bitcoin Gold (BTG) Wallet for Windows?
by

on 24/11/2017, 18:18:51 UTC
Even I am searching this. Till today i have saved my bitcoin gold in Yobit exchange but now I need a windows wallet too. anybody knows it?

I can do android, but would prefer Windows.. Mostly due to easy of access to log and data files.
Really just want to get this on bittrex, so if it spikes to like $1,000, I can sell it.

So tried to just use coinomi on Android and still did not work. At this point, I'm just trying to get BTG from an old Electrum wallet into anything.

Trusted Bitcoin Gold (BTG) Wallet for Windows?
by
mindspin311
on 24/11/2017, 17:25:30 UTC
So I have some BTG associated with an older Electrum wallet from when they took the snapshot. I wanted to import my private key into some trusted Windows BTG wallet, then transfer to Bittrex where the rest of my BTG is.

I can't seem to find any trusted BTG wallet other than iOS/Android. Anyone know of a good way to claim my BTG?
