Re: Solo mining single vs multiple miners question.

Out of curiosity is why I am asking this question.

Which set up would you rather go for?

Four pieces of BitAxe with 1.2Th each (gamma 601 edition) and 17w power draw per miner or

The single NerdQAxe++ with 4.8Th and 72w power draw.

Also is there any advantage running 1TH miner separately or combining all power together on a solo mining pool vs just the single 4.8Th miner?

Solo mining only.

4 always sounds better Smiley
just that NerdQaxe++ more fancy screen
I love this new Nerdaxe Gamma 1.2ths it shows live bitcoin price on screen.

I've always like this Asic miner because of the power modes available, if you are on solar you can mine at the highest power mode when the sun is up and go Eco mode when running on battery, this is like a dream come true for someone like me.

What's stopping me right now is this bull market, what will happen after Bitcoin is done making a new all time high? I am sure the daily reward won't be 7 or 8 dollars any more, it will take a year to make the money back and that's if Bitcoin maintain it's present Value for a year.

It's always a better plan to buy Asic miners in a very bad market, the price will be cheaper and the return will be fair enough, it's better to make back your ROI first before considering using this device for solo mining.
you absolutely right always buy in bear market then miners dirt cheap. But then everyone is scared same as buying crypto you always have this questions "and if it never recover"

If you don't mind spending $3,000 on the lottery, you can buy this model for solo mining and mine for more than 1 year.
Buying this model to recoup your investment in 2 years or more makes no sense.
Its not 3000$ , but understand your point.
At 16j/Ths this miner profitable also mining pool.
It wound be everybody cup of taste indeed. Industrial grade is slightly cheaper price per Th/s

I haven't attempted recently but last winter I could not find a single hashboard at a half decent price Philip. I'm in the UK, do you have a recommendation?

Someone needs to make a system that can plug one of these 1PH models into new or existing heating/radiator systems. That's the future! Offset your heating bill with bitcoin mining profits

Canaan are on the right track for this but they're implementing older gen chips around the 20J/T range

The latest Avalon Q home miner can work low as 15.5 j/ths but on silent mode 45ths wich increases significantly the cost per ths.
But full performance also not bad almost as good as Antminer S21 17.7 jTh/s for 90 Th/s mining performance.
Priced also good for home miner https://mineshop.eu/canaan-avalon-q-home-bitcoin-asic-miner

It's so fucking commercial .

3 phase 415volt and a liquid cooling system.

I run s21xp units doing 12-13 watts

My host is all air cooled with 270volts 1 phase

The s21 xp units will allow that higher voltage.

My host is not going to put in 415 volt 3 phase with liquid cooling.

This unit is designed for huge fresh startup mine.

OR MAYBE a person with solar on a few acres of land could buy a transformer and do a few pieces .

That 9.5 watts is really nice.

6000 watts when you add in the cooling radiator pump and fans.
Totally agree air-cooled is the easiest and cheapest to deploy — especially for smaller setups or hosts with existing infrastructure.

But liquid cooling does have its advantages beyond efficiency. Better heat capture opens up real use cases like heating a home or grow house. Could be a win-win in colder climates or for those looking to reuse that waste heat.

Definitely not for everyone, but interesting to see how far things have come!

Am I right in thinking that I can buy 2 ASICs Bitmain Antminer S23 Hydro
and 1 12kW Water-Cooled Radiator – Industrial Cooling for Bitmain & Whatsminer Hydro ASIC Miners and everything will work for me?

This will not work on 2x Asic miners will support only one , i belive theoretically it could but you would need 2 loops as if you would push hot water from one miner into second the second would overheat.

IceRiver slaughtered Goldshell again dropping 5xtimes more efficient home miner.
by

on 19/04/2025, 11:20:46 UTC
🚀 IceRiver Launches AE1 – First Home ASIC for ALEO!

IceRiver just dropped the AE1 ASIC miner – another built for the ALEO blockchain!

Specs:
- 300 MH/s hashrate
- 500W power draw
- 1.67 J/MH efficiency
- Plug-and-play, quiet, compact (205×110×202mm)

💰 Profits (on paper):
- ~€45.88/day revenue
- ~€1.15/day electricity
- ROI ~2.5 months (if conditions stay the same)

⚠️ Keep in mind: Profitability may drop as network difficulty rises – and if ALEO’s price doesn’t grow, returns could be much lower than expected.

Anyone here getting one or mining ALEO already? Thoughts?

Any Home Bitcoin Miner Fans Here? Bitaxe Gamma, Avalon Nano 3S, NerdQaxe++
by
mineshop.eu
on 09/04/2025, 07:08:10 UTC
Curious—any other home mining enthusiasts out there still stacking sats with compact ASICs?

I’ve been testing a few small rigs recently—Bitaxe Gamma, Avalon Nano 3S, Avalon Mini3, and most recently the NerdQaxe++. All designed for quiet, efficient mining at home without needing a warehouse or a noise-cancelling bunker 😅

The NerdQaxe++ surprised me the most: stable 4.8TH/s, ~80W draw, solid thermal performance, and an open-source firmware that’s easy to tweak. Setup took under 30 mins and it's been running non-stop for a month now.

The Avalon Nano 3S is quieter but delivers less power, and the Bitaxe Gamma is great for tinkering if you're into DIY builds and open-source hardware.

Wondering what others are running these days—has anyone tried the Nano 3s or Mini3 long-term? How’s stability, hashrate, and profitability holding up?

Would love to hear what setups you're running, what’s working, what’s not. Home mining might not be for profit anymore, but it’s still fun being part of the network and watching those sats trickle in ⚡

NerdQaxe++ Home ASIC Miner – 7-Day Test (4.8TH/s)
by
mineshop.eu
on 07/04/2025, 15:13:17 UTC
Tested the NerdQaxe++ Bitcoin miner at home for 7 days – here’s the real deal. This compact ASIC miner claims 4.8TH/s at just 60W. In our hands-on testing, it actually hit a consistent 4.8TH/s, with peaks around 5.5TH/s after firmware updates and overclocking. Real power draw was closer to 80W, which still puts it at ~20W/TH – very solid for home use.

Setup was fast (under 30 mins), and it supports both Wi-Fi. The open-source firmware and integrated Lily Go display make it user-friendly for both beginners and tinkerers. Cooling is excellent – sub-50°C temps, and noise stays ~40dB at stock.

Not a get-rich miner, but definitely a low-noise, efficient option for those wanting to mine BTC at home without industrial gear.
Only way to ear with this is Solo mining where 99.9% miners in return will receive big fat 0, but love the idea of decentralized miner to support BTC network.

Pros:
✅ Stable 4.8TH/s
✅ Quiet & cool
✅ Easy setup
✅ Efficient for size

Cons:
⚠️ Actual power draw 80W
⚠️ Long ROI

A great entry-level miner for Bitcoiners wanting a plug-and-play home rig.

Goldshell KA Box PRO: Setup, Performance, and Profitability
by
mineshop.eu
on 30/05/2024, 10:17:19 UTC
This miner boasts an impressive performance of 1.6 TH/s at 600W. However, our testing revealed that it consumes 25W more than advertised, bringing the actual power usage to 625W. This small discrepancy is important for miners to consider when calculating profitability and planning their setup.

Announcements and Delivery Updates
The release of the Goldshell KA Box Pro coincided with some logistical changes from Goldshell. Originally, early April preorders were for the KA Box, which offers 1.2 TH/s at 400W. However, Goldshell announced that they would halt deliveries of the non-pro version and instead fulfill remaining orders with the KA Box Pro. This led to some customers receiving a mix of both models, with the latter half of shipments comprising the more powerful Pro version.

Profitability Insights
One of the standout features of the KA Box Pro is its profitability. As of now, this miner generates almost $7 worth of Kaspa coin daily. This figure can be verified on ASIC Miner Value, where real-time profitability data is available. Despite the higher power consumption, the KA Box Pro remains a highly lucrative option for home miners.

Performance and Overclocking
Based on our testing, we suspect that the KA Box Pro may be an overclocked version of the standard KA Box. This is suggested by its performance metrics and operating conditions. The device runs quite hot, reaching temperatures of 75°C in an ambient environment of 25°C. Additionally, it experiences a 1% hardware error rate, which further indicates potential overclocking.

Hashrate: 1.6 TH/s

Power Consumption: 625W

Operating Temperature: 75°C at an ambient temperature of 25°C

Hardware Errors: Approximately 1%, indicating potential overclocking

Quiet Operation and Easy Setup
One of the key advantages of the KA Box Pro is its exceptionally quiet operation. This makes it an ideal choice for home mining setups where noise can be a significant concern. Moreover, it supports Wi-Fi connectivity, enhancing its convenience and flexibility in terms of placement within a home environment.

Setting up the KA Box Pro is straightforward and follows the same process as other Goldshell devices. Users familiar with the Goldshell ecosystem will find the setup intuitive and hassle-free.

Comparing KA Box Pro and AL Box
When choosing between the KA Box Pro and other miners, such as the more profitable AL Box, there are several factors to consider. Despite the higher potential earnings with the AL Box, mining Kaspa with the KA Box Pro offers certain advantages. The Kaspa network already has established industrial miners, providing a more stable and predictable profitability landscape. In contrast, the AL Box carries higher risk; if industrial miners are released for the ALPH network, the resulting increase in difficulty could drastically reduce profitability.

Conclusion

The Goldshell KA Box Pro represents a powerful and profitable option for Kaspa coin miners. Its performance, ease of setup, and quiet operation make it a compelling choice for home mining enthusiasts. While it consumes slightly more power than advertised and runs hot, its profitability and user-friendly features outweigh these concerns. For those looking to enter the Kaspa mining space, the KA Box Pro offers a reliable and lucrative solution.

Happy mining!
