Re: [OPEN - IN STOCK - SHIPPING] batch #22/23
by

The price is higher than the last group buy.  Is this to make the 500 bulk price look a little better?  Interesting pricing strategy considering the recent difficulty increases.

Also why has the .1 promotion been swept under the rug? (The .10 thread was locked, or I would have asked the question there.)

If you look thread for this buy does not include price for that specific reason.

I'm willing to bet he picks a number where it comes out cheaper to answer your question.  But at 15 plus it is a jump up easily since you provide shipping costs.  And web site prices....

As far as timing i think it has more to do with chips in delay for competitors projects.  There are other group offerings that have not used this as a way to gouge you for a little extra.

Contact Sapphire RMA chances are if you are lucky you will have a replacement in 1.5 weeks to two.  Unless you happen to be lucky enough to be within 30 days of buying then contact company u bought from.

Re: 1 fan not spinning - XFX RADEON 7970 925M 3GB - advice needed

Ok, so I successfully installed the new fan with a thin layer of artic silver on GPU, after cleaning it thoroughly of previous thermal paste.  The fan works great only one issue, my card resets when it gets to about 70C now.  Previously, I ran it at 20 intensity, and now I can only run it continuously at 11.  Any ideas why this is happening?  I read the artic silver has a break in time, is this what is causing the gpu to reset??  Any ideas how to fix issue?

What happens when you run at higher intensity?

Re: switched my 5870 to litecoin mining but extremely high temps

It is an XFX reference style card.  I will try putting a house hold fan blowing on it since maybe the case does not get enough airflow.  I still think that's way too hot for 5 minutes of mining.

I just saw brand.  XFX is not really a preferred brand for most. Is it one fan model to?

I would again add a fan and get open air, but next time maybe change brands.

That is hot even for litecoin.  I would add the fan you talked about.  Make sure there is good cooling.  Litecoin can add some heat, but that is higher then i would want to run.

Thanks for posting the RBi i think that is the most I've seen posted to one.   Very nice setup.

most what?  Grin  Cool

Thanks!

The two power supplies from the hubs run really hot under full load, so I have directed a 3rd USB fan onto them - temperature down to a breezy 32°C from way over 50°C.

Sorry meant to post the most BE's plugged into a single RBi!

My friend already get the 5 USB miner for me for 0.5BTC from a Chinese reseller. It's kind of unfair if the US groupbuys do not have that offer.

Wow. If this is true, that it is only for Chinese resellers, which it appears to be since Friedcat is silent about it, ASICminer will be losing a lot of loyal customers.

I personally don't believe that the biggest US seller can not get a answer from Friedcast or ASICminer.   The question is why is he keeping us in the dark?

You mean CanaryInTheMine?  I do not think he would have started this thread if he was trying to keep us in the dark.

Sales of these USBs are stalled because of these rumors.  Meanwhile the value of the USBs in terms of BTC goes down with each increase in difficulty.

Allowing rumors of preferential treatment of Chinese resellers to go without comment is tantamount to affirming the rumors.

Friedcat needs to realize that silence is not always golden.

I wont name name, or names of who i was speaking of.  But there are very few main sellers in US.  Do you honestly believe the main one has not had talks with Friedcat and knows a lot more?

If you want to speak of Canary who you mention he specifically says "i don't get involved with rumors" not that he does not know the answer to the rumor.

Love the kit idea.  How hard would it be with your kit to get the chip attached?

My solder skills are not professional grade.
