PRISM-free mobile phone?
by

on 01/06/2014, 18:47:35 UTC
1) Does anyone know if there are any PRISM-free mobiles still in production?
By PRISM-free I don't mean encrypted / anonymous talk (like Cryptophone) but rather something impossible to control remotely (no remote pictures, no remote wiretapping, no remote start/shutdown)

2) Are there any good PGP / crypto SMS apps that work both on Android and Windows Phone?

This is how you deal with Russian threats:

President Kennedy's 10/22/1962 Cuban Missile Crisis speech

Now please compare it to this clown:

Statement by the NATO Secretary General

Watch out Putin! NATO expresses 'great concern'!

Thanks Americans  Angry
I was only saying that Putin is supposedly capable of doing that himself.
IMHO every government is by definition a criminal organization but that's another subject.

IMHO Russia is absolute master when it comes to politics and they are constantly focused on expanding the imperium.
Putin comes from KGB - they are trained in killing people and it's obvious that he doesn't care about human life at all.
He can just do what he wants - we don't have ballsy leaders in the west anymore.

They don't have it anymore.

From Wikipedia: "Ukraine has acceded to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Ukraine inherited about 5,000 nuclear weapons when it became independent from the Soviet Union in 1991, making its nuclear arsenal the third-largest in the world.[60] By 1996, Ukraine had voluntarily disposed of all nuclear weapons within its territory, transferring them to Russia."

and by the way: as far as I know, in return Russia promised Ukraine to respect Ukraine's territorial integrity.

Also, the only hope I see are the United Nations (UN) troops in Ukraine ASAP.

Unfortunately it looks like Putin is much faster and we have piece-of-shit leaders here in the West.
They all are already shitting their pants.

My predictions:

1. Putin won't give up and western countries (EU/USA/NATO) will do nothing at all
2. Ukraine will loose Crimea - the whole bi-land will became a Russian federation, controlled by Yanukovych and/or Putin

Next possible scenarios:

3. Military aggression triggered by Ukraine or Russia leading to war
4. Humanitarian disaster.
5. Ukraine refugees flooding Poland
6. Russia taking over Ukraine

Possible, but rather unlikely:

7. World War III

Best Google Glass defense?

Hi,

Looks like the world of Google Glass is coming and this crap is going to be everywhere soon - whether we like it or not.
I'm wondering what would be the best way to prevent myself from being recorded.

Wearing a hood and sunglasses is a pretty obvious solution, but what about more sophisticated methods? Are there any?
I've just encountered this video showing a pretty neat infrared jammer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRj8whKmN1M

What do you think? Maybe someone's gonna invent a "scramble suit" soon? :)

A necessary clarification for the Google fanboys out there:
The biggest problem that I have with Google Glass is that there is no external indicator diode to show when Google Glass is in recording mode.
I feel that being recorded without my knowledge and permission invades my right to privacy.

Some questions to devs please: what's the chance to see it implemented in Bitcoin? Would it take very long? What's the biggest obstacle?

We are all used to the price heading m00n all the time. But as the market grows the price may be slowing down... I was wondering what are your predictions for the upcoming year 2014? Will it reach 5000$?

apparently bitcoind is too slow to handle high amounts of traffic.
Thanks, is it likely to be faster in the future? Or that's just the way it is, and nothing can be done?

Is bitcoin ready for large amounts of transactions per second?

Hello,

Would anyone be so kind to explain what would happen if a popular online game adopted bitcoin as a main in-game currency please?
I wonder if bitcoin network can really transfer large amounts of transactions.
Is it technically possible to for example - have bitcoin in World of Warcraft instead of virtual gold?

If it's not suitable now, can it be suitable in the future?
What needs to be changed? What are the limitations?

Thanks,
