Now my transaction disappeared, and my bitcoins didn't reach my destination address. Is there any remedy, or am I pretty much SOL?  Undecided

Fees: 0 BTC

That's the problem, you have to wait until this transaction reaches at least 1 confirmation.
How long does it usually take a transaction with no fees to confirm?

The reason for the delay of that transaction is it is dependant on an unconfirmed transaction (https://blockchain.info/tx-index/75365410/0) which doesn't include sufficient fees (Likely constructed with the blockchain iphone app). Once that transaction confirms the other one will do as well.
Thanks!  Smiley

Now hurry up, other transaction!  Tongue

Transaction unconfirmed after 1 hour: is this normal?
by

I made a transaction from my blockchain wallet to a bitcoin exchange about an hour ago. The transaction still hasn't received any confirmations, and the network propagation is at "0% poor". Should I be worried?

MtGox verification complaint (advice needed)
by
mistermayi
on 09/04/2013, 12:30:48 UTC
So after submitting a copy of my driver's license and pay stub via PDF, and waiting over a week, today I get an email denying my verification on the grounds that my files were not in the required format (though PDF is on their list of required formats) and I did not submit a government-issued photo ID (which I was always under the impression that a driver's license was). I replied to their email with my concerns, but don't expect a reply anytime soon.

Should I just restart the verification process and hope for the best in 2-3 weeks? At this point, assuming I ever get my funds, I'm having a hard time seeing why I should use MtGox in the future.  Undecided

Oh god Mt Gox, why??!?!?!?

T.T

Anyway, just so people have an idea of how many people are scrambling to verify and start making purchases/trades.

I think as long as we have a verify queue of this magnitude, prices will continue to climb, as this 15,000 person line is obviously in it to start buying and selling.
Huh, I was able to buy without being verified. I'm currently 704, last I checked (might be 740, I'm dyslexic).

Re: To sell or not to sell (advice needed)

Sell some and if it goes higher sell more?

My guess is on this unamed marketplace you needed a certain about of USD.  The BTC are now worth more than that USD value.  As an example lets say you need $500 and the BTC is now worth $800.  You could sell $500 worth of BTC as a hedge, then let the remaining BTC ride.  If they go up significantly more you could sell another $250 worth and let the rest ride.
That's a good idea. Smiley

At the current rate, even a small portion of my still-frozen BTC (thanks a lot MtGox  Tongue) could cover my needs on this marketplace (I only have interest in a few lower-cost items so I'm thinking about $100 should do me good).

To sell or not to sell (advice needed)
by

Backstory: I originally purchased BTC for use on a certain marketplace that only accepts BTC (don't ask). However, my MtGox account is currently going through verification and my BTC are stuck in purgatory.

So here's my dilemma: if the current trend continues, I could theoretically triple my initial investment by the time I'm able to withdraw my BTC.

As I see it, I have four options once i get access to my BTC:

1) Sell my BTC and hope/wait for the exchange rate per USD to come down to double digits (downside being that there's no way of knowing if it will ever come down that low).

2) Use my BTC to fund my account at the marketplace and buy up as much as I can while my BTC is worth this much.

3) Exchange my BTC for LTC and hope that in a few years LTC goes up high enough that I can sell my LTC and live out the rest of my days in a corrupt third-world country in relative comfort.

4) Sell BTC, take my USD, and run.

For full disclosure, I only have just over 1.5 BTC at MtGox (I'm poor  Sad)

Advice? Thoughts? Verbal abuse? All are appreciated (that last one not so much  Wink)

Configuring scryptminer with a mining pool
by

I am setting up scryptminer for CPU litecoin mining, but on the dropdown "Mining Pool" menu, the only available options are Litecoinpool.org, Pool-X, and OzCoin LTC Pool. Is there a way to configure additional pools, or does scryptminer only work with these pools?

I made a transaction directly to my wallet yesterday, and it went through no problems. Granted it tool a bit longer than an hour, but I assume they're swamped with the recent demand.

Investment: buying vs. mining
by
mistermayi
on 02/04/2013, 13:18:09 UTC
I'm gonna be frank: my goal is to obtain as much LTC as I can while it's cheap, horde it until the exchange rate with USD is in the double digits, and hopefully make enough to move to a corrupt third world country and live in relative comfort and anonimity.

At this point, I do not have the capacity or the technical knowhow to set up a GPU mining operation, and when I try downloading CPU miners, my antivirus warning pops up (not to mention my hashing rate would probably not be high enough to make any potential risk worth it).

So my question is, for my objective, am I better off just buying like there's no tomorrow?

From what I've heard, minerd looks like a Trojon/virus payload software.  But there is nothing to worry about, see if your anti-virus software let's you mark it as safe.
Do more searching on here about it.  If you still unsure, don't use it.
I just checked the cryptojunkie article and it says it's okay to use. I'll give it a whirl, then.

I read somewhere that it is a legitimate warning.
I did a quick search. Apparently others have had the same issue.  Sad
