I am having issues logging into the site.  I haven't changed my password or email address but when I put both of them into the login fields it appears that the homepage just reloads without logging me in.  I have tried clearing the cache and cookies for the site in my browser but neither have worked.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

My name is Mitch Fultz, like my username.

The student directory won't let me link to my page directly, but here is the  link of our school directory. Typing in mitch fultz will show you my student info.  http://directory.andrew.cmu.edu/

My instructor/professor is R.F. Culbertson and here is his faculty page.  http://public.tepper.cmu.edu/facultydirectory/FacultyDirectoryProfile.aspx?id=166 At the bottom of his page it shows that there currently is a Spring 2013 course for Entrepreneurship.

If you need any more info or proof, feel free to ask.

Thanks

Hey everyone, I'm just bumping this post because we would like to order the shirts today and we haven't had enough donations to even cover the costs of adding the logo.

If you have anything to give, that'd be greatly appreciated by myself and my group members.

I also understand if you choose not to, it's hard to trust people these days.

Thanks!

Help get Bitcoin out there by donating

Hi everyone.  I am a student at Carnegie Mellon University and in my Entrepreneurship class my group and I have been given an advertising assignment.  Since the project has to involve T-Shirts in some manner, we have decided to make shirts that will act as Billboards for companies who donate.

So far our target has been local food chains and companies in Pittsburgh.  The shirt is to represent finals week for students at both CMU and University of Pittsburgh.

Why I am posting this here is because I think this could potentially be a way to get Bitcoin's name out there a little bit.  From my experience Bitcoin has a minimal audience here.  If we were to get enough Bitcoin donations to add the Bitcoin logo and name to the shirt I believe it would help spark some new interest in Bitcoin.

Even after all of the news of Bitcoin lately, no one really seems to know about it here.  If students were to see the Bitcoin logo and name, they could possibly investigate into it a little bit and become a user.  Also, CMU is known for its diverse student body as we have students from all across the country; as well as a small percentage from other countries.  If these students where these shirts even just one more time at home, Bitcoin's name is getting out there.

I know that this type of advertising may not be the best, but at a school with students majoring in Electrical Computer Engineering and the best Computer Science program, Bitcoin could explode here.

Any donation would be amazing for our group.  If our group makes the most money we win some sort of prize, as well as the earnings from all of the other groups.  I appreciate you for considering donating!  The instructor of our course is R.F. Culbertson if anyone wanted to know. Thanks.

The donation address is 1LdjPyHyiUy1gPxSmdmwiPvsvYUKhvctTi and has been set up specifically for this cause.  Thanks again.

I have placed two bets from the bitcoin address of 17v5ARgP4vSHYw6eUTDJGE5vSy2SmkfJ4Q two days ago and never received anything back.

Each bet has 442 confirmations on the network.  What is the hold up?

Mining Hardware
by

Hello

I have done a good bit of research and have noticed that GPU mining will soon be obsolete as CPU mining is because of FGPA and especially ASIC rigs.

I would like to take advantage of the free power I have so I am looking to start mining.

My question is where I could purchase an ASIC rig and whether or not an FGPA rig would be worth purchasing at this point.  Most of the sources I have seen only offer preorder services and I'm skeptical about butterflylabs.

If preordering is my only option, what do you suggest I take a look at?

Also, if none of the above would be the approach I should take to maximize profits, please feel free to make any suggestions.

Thanks!

I started out with the original client and wasn't too crazy about it downloading the entire blockchain so I gave Electrum a shot and love it.  I am using version 1.6.2 on Windows and not the latest 1.7 version until a few of the bugs are worked out.

But overall I recommend it.

We donated an entire thread to this BS already...

Aight so that title might have been a bit missleading, but I have some thoughts here.

I have NEvER ever gambled in my life earlier, well that was until I discovered bitcoins.. To me it seems as if bitcoins might be a kind of gateway to gambling addiction.

It started not long ago when I got my blockchain wallet. I was going to send some coins and all of a sudden I saw "SatoshiDice" under "Games" and though woot is this. So I pressed it and saw a cool interface with odds and so on. I had some coins so I bet 0.01 on different odds and experimented with it, but then forgot it. Some weeks later I saw a thread here on the forum about the martingale betting system, and got really hooked. I started martingaling on 48% odds and won minimal ammounts (0.01) but still I won and won and won. I didn't care about googling martingale or think any more about it, because I won you know? So I started betting 0.1 btc and that's when it escalated pretty quickly. Lost 10 btc in about 10 transactions.. I promised to myself that I would never do it again.

Next time I logged into my wallet I saw that stupid SatoshiDice again, but I felt the URGE to play again, I couldn't stop myself. I told my buddy to stop me but he just laughted it off. So I started with 0.01 again since I didn't even had a coin. I left the wallet with a small profit again.

So some days ago I sold some stuff on bitmit (http://bitly.com/VIrA2o) and had 10 coins again, ofcourse you can guess what happened next. Lost it all. However, now I've sold some stuff again and got about 20 btc and I really feel the urge to bet it all on 50% odds to weigh up for the total loss of 20btc I have right now. I don't know what to do to stop myself, I'm 17 years old and have never been gambling before and now all of a sudden it's a serious addiction for me.

Please help out guys? Do you know how to stop myself from gambling? I would switch wallet but I really love the blockchain wallet exept for the fact that gambling is only 2 clicks away. Also, what do you think about bitcoins opening up a world of gambling to young people that normally would not even think about gambling?

I understand your skepticism of this being a legit post since there is a similar one already out there.  Whatever verification you need let me know, I'm not making multiple accounts to scam people out of their money.  I don't think anything I say will change your minds now that a claim like that has been made.  However, to gain a positive reputation as a legit new member, I would like to sort this out so other members do not believe I am a scammer or spammer.

And just because I chose Eminem as my avatar makes you believe I am the same person who made that post?

Thanks

You're right... The fact that you also lost money gambling on Satoshi Dice has nothing to do with it.

Valid point, I did not read that post.  I guess the fakes before have caused major skepticism when a post like mine comes up.  Understandable.

Thanks.

I am aware Bitcoin transactions are irreversible.

The purpose of this post was to simply ask if options other than gambling are available to multiply the few Bitcoins I do have left.
So, what do you want exactly? Pitty, bitcoins or money?

I do not want your pitty and I think it is extremely rude the way you responded, psy and DeathAndTaxes.  As for begging, I reread my post and it does not seem like a beggers post to me.  My choices caused this situation and I know that, I was just throwing the possibility of a little help out there.  It isn't easy for me to post asking for help.  Your replies are the reasons why.  Why tear me down further when I know what mistakes I have made?

I would have never expected those type of responses on this forum.

As for the guy who thinks this is a "troll" on SatoshiDice, no, this isn't me simply trolling.  I made the mistake of choosing to gamble my Bitcoins.  Many people have had major gains from that site and many people have had the complete opposite, like myself.

Be a little more professional in your responses, please.
