Raspberry Pi cluster vs Graphic Card
by
mitsos2017
on 09/05/2019, 05:35:20 UTC
I would like to know (if possible) if a Raspberry Pi Cluster could compeed a Graphic Card in a vanity address search (as a cheaper alternative).
I'll make an example:
You can buy a 1060 with $250 usd and make a cluster of 5 RPi3 with the same amount.
If the card "finds" a vanity address in 1 hour, would be possible for the cluster to find it earlier?

Fake Greek Translator: User -----> asztar7
by

on 15/04/2019, 06:03:25 UTC
Hi people,
User asztar7 ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=192212 )  is claiming that this portfolio is his work:

I've searched the most of the projects, and I've found out that he has copied the work of several Greek translators.
Besides (according his posts) he was not online since 2015.
I've contacted the actual Greek translators (I'm Greek too) and two of them (who replied) verified, that the transation was done by them and not by asztar7.

ArifBestari (Greek scammer translator) is one of the scammer accounts. I asked @GreekTranslator on Telegram and he proved that is pure scam.

His account: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=517558

you can check here (simplybrand): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1b55c6uzxvXJw5Fy_RI_riMuzwvDEWPDL/view

What kind of scam is he doing?

Is he stealing other people works?

Is he using automated tools to complete is task?

he is using pure 'google translate'.

I will bring this information to the Bounty management team.

Check this post concerning ArifBestari :

I don't know exactly how lightning network works, but is it possible to use it for Bitcoin mixing?
In other words, are the transactions in this network traceable?

Hard Cap is 90000ETH and Bounty is 5% of the amount.
That is 4500 ETH with value of 615000 USD.
With 0,05 USD each token, the BOUNTY should be 12  300 000 tokens and not only 700 000.

Bounty = 5% of 1 500 000 000 coins = 750 000 000 coins
You mention 100000 coins bounty in the upper photo and 100 000 000 coins some lines later.
This is not a good work.

Re: Why you should invest into ICOs that have a working product.
by
mitsos2017
on 19/02/2019, 06:26:48 UTC
Cryptocurrency is money that exists in Internet and it can be successful if and only if the product is digital.
Lets say that there is an ICO that wants to sell milk and they say that if you buy milk with their coin "Milco" you get it 10% cheaper.
Who prevents people from still buying with Fiat ?
No one.
People will probably still buy using fiat, the coin will be soon useless and your BTC, ETH coins will come to the owners pocket.

Haven't you heard this story the last few years, again and again?

Just think about it.

I'm Greek native speaker, and I can assure you that your translator: greekcomunity is not Greek, and he is using Google translate or similar tools.
His translation have no meaning, you can ask any Greek person in the Greek community page (please do it).
He will ruin your project.
Be careful.

Re: Higher education, is it so important?
by
mitsos2017
on 13/02/2019, 08:53:48 UTC
You don't need higher education in order to make a job you like, or to get rich.
In fact, specialization (=education, higher or not) in a specific profession could limit your opportunities as you will be focused primary in what you've learned.

However, knowledge to many of us is an inner driving, to learn what makes the world go round and why.
You don't need degrees and certificates in order to achieve that.

Re: How to secure your wallet from scammer
by
mitsos2017
on 11/02/2019, 10:03:17 UTC
  • Use multiple addresses and not one for all.
  • Learn how to use a cold wallet to sign transactions and a hot one to transmit them to internet.
  • If you buy tokens use one address for each token or if you don't want to, send the tokens (you want to sell) to an intermediary address and then sell them.
  • Don't buy hardware wallets from unknown people or ebay.
  • Think before you act.

So, it is confirmed? No bounty rewards, no activity on telegram and their ANN thread is locked.
I am interested if there is a way how to get scam ICOs into the jail?

This is the reason why some country's consider crypto's as legal but not ICO's.
Because they can't protects their people.
So it's up to you if you get scammed or not.

In my town there is only 3 places where you can use BTC.
Two of them are shops printing 3d objects and the third one is an accountant.
I own a 3d printer and I don't need an accountant yet.
In internet is much convenient to use paypal or credit card (sorry BTC)

Accepting a crypto that wouldn't control?
Forget it.
It would be easier (for a country) to issue an own controlled crypto, as Venezuela did with Pedro.
Do not forget, that National Banks (who issue currency) are private institutions.
Do you get the point ?  Wink

within 2 years under $500 and then the death spiral begins.

You are very "optimistic", do you believe that the altcoins have more chances than Bitcoin? Or you believe in fiat money and the banking system?

18 months ago, you could make money taking part in bounty campaigns.
Having a better rank could give you more money.
Today, the profit from bounties is near zero, so ranking up has no meaning.

Re: Solar Panels, Home fuel cells, etc?
by
mitsos2017
on 22/01/2019, 08:14:00 UTC
I have an off grid house on a mountain.
Its about 25 Km from work, and I spend there 6-9 months of the year.
I have a small solar panel installation 420Wp (+ 1200VA inverter), which is enough for lights, fridge, TV, laptop, etc.
In the kitchen I use gas, and a solar water heater for bath.
In the cold days a fire place (woods from tree pruning around the house) is perfect.
The only bill I'm paying is for water. (in this area is once a year, last year I've payed about 50 Euros).

That's all.

You don't need 10KW solar panels, if you make a good plan for your needs.
