alot people are saying bitcoin but the op have just $500 to invest in altcoin. first we need to know how long you are planning to invest your $500. then I will suggest you do your own research and probably invest your money on coin with price less than 1$. XRP is good if you are thinking of a long term investment. IOTA, NEM are some other few coin which are cheap and can offer you good profit if you invest. for short term investment you may consider waves and probably NEO

It is better to be late than never. But actually you are not that late that can't catch up with the rest. Try to gather tons of information about cryptocurrencies regarding investing, trading, etc. Familiarize the terms and be aware on the rules and conditions of the system. And lastly, beware of the scammers.

The prices right now are still looking decent enough right now even after the latest pump. Why don't you invest 50% of your portfolio now and wait with the other half? If there's a dump soon then you can enter with all of your money and you by averaging down your entrance price and you'll also wont feel so bad as if you would have invested all of your money amd then it dumped.

I am waiting to be able to sign up for the DeepOnion airdorp and I have heard people say that they are profitable. You need to be Jr member of BitCoinTalk before you are eligble for teh airdrop. I think that is a valid requirement to show that you are active in the community and not just joining to dump. That is still a risk but at least you reduce the risk. I am joining because so far I like the community that DeeOnion has. I will let you know if it is profitable or not when I join!

Bitcoin is a promising cryptocurrency. Even it loses its price, it will recover and will boom its price. If bitcoin price decreases, I think the better way is to buy some or convert your altcoins to bitcoin because I know that it will boost to a high price. Today's price of bitcoin is almost 10000 dollars so if bitcoin will be priced 1000 dollars tomorrow, it is the chance to buy bitcoin because it may be priced as 11000 dollars or more. We just need to take risks in investing on cryptocurrency because those risks can lead us to wealth.

Try to Hold Ethereum. i can assure to you that
it will be stable at next year.
and you can earn some profit from it.
and try to spare some coin in BTC.
don't just rely to the ALtcoins.
you need to trust BTC too because
it gives a huge pump sometimes .
but i know it will be risky so
you still got your own decisions

Doesn't a coin "cap" only give the illusion of "more value"?

If I have 100 useless things, they are worth nothing.
If I have 1.000.000.000.000.000 useful things, they would probably each still be worth more.

Look at FIAT, uncapped and Quantitative Easing everywhere (more money being printed) and it's still worth something because of it's usefullness.

IMO coin cap shouldn't be a real issue as long as it's adaptable by the masses and has a real intrinsic value while being used.
