they have no choice but to sell coins to meet costs, the question on my mind is how does anyone still think proof of work was a good idea

Proof of Work is terrible idea, I vote for abandoning it completely especially offline, where I wanna be paid for doing no work whatsoever.  Grin

Feature request - Vardiff, where user optionaly sets desired share difficulty via password numeric value. In example below, share difficulty is set to 4 in cgminer.conf file.

{
"url" : "stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333",
"user" : "1PYbF46Bit5VhBAWN6AfbboernJtentVJ7",
"pass" : "4"
}
Ckpool already supports --suggest-diff which is in cgminer and can be set as "suggest-diff" in the cgminer conf file too.

Ohh, finaly a good reason to upgrade CGMiner from 4.1.0 to newer version!  Cheesy

It seems that Cryptsy is still using old wallet version.

What is new wallet actualy about? Why hard-fork? Why different checkpoint? Was checkpoint changed before or after hard-fork point? All this looks to me like another shady deal, where someone messed with blockchain data for his profit. It will be fun to watch the show if Cryptsy ends up with negative TEK or BTC balance.

Most stuff suggested by now falls into annoyance category and will not really make you much money (a lot of people use AdBlockPlus thus they won't see ads on your website) so I suggest you to work on quality content and go with tipping tool like one linked below.

https://www.coinbase.com/tip

Or simply post your BTC address below all articles or whatever you are doing.

Re: Frustrated can I please get some help

OK.  So I've tried everywhere.  First off please don't tell me that my miners are junk...it's all I could afford right now.  Second...I've got 4 Asicminer Block Erupters and 1 Antminer u2 (?).  Yes, they're plugged into a powered USB with a fan on them.  I've tried bfgminer AND cgminer and can't get either of them to work.  I've followed the instructions that i've been able to find...which is few and far between and old.  Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Also, when I do get the cgminer (i think) to run, it says that they're too slow to be an icarus and calibrating, but then I get nothing.  I see that they're working, but that they're not totally connecting.  I have class today so it will be a while before I can respond again...but I do appreciate anyone willing to help me and provide some guidance!
Thanks in Advance!

What OS are you using? Standard installation goes like this:

1. Download Zadig ( http://zadig.akeo.ie/ ) for OS you are using.
2. Plug in all USB miners into working USB hub.
3. Run Zadig and install USB driver, you might need to select Options > List All Devices in order for USB miners to show up on central drop-down menu.
4. If all is done correctly you should see five CP2012 USB to UART Bridge Controllers added to your system (Control Panel > Devices and Printers).
5. Download and use older version of CGMiner ( http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/4.1/ works flawlessly for me).

If you are using WinXP there is an issue with all Asicminer USB Erupters having the same ID and causing WinXP to not recognize more than 2 or 3 devices, to fix that you will need to reprogram miner EPROM with different ID for each device.
