There are some guys who are selling civic.
People, rather buy from exchanges once it lists. Buying from some dude on telegram is more than certainly a scam.
It isn't possible to buy Civic on an exchanger yet. It is on sale on the project's site and it will appear on exchangers only after the sale will be over.

The sale ended yesterday.

However, we haven't been given a token contract address yet, so as far as I can tell, there are no real CVC in circulation yet.

well it seems that i have had some success.

this is the log generated on my last attempt to install 11.6

Code:
Package /home/chip/fglrx_8.861-0ubuntu1_i386.deb has been successfully generated
Package /home/chip/fglrx-dev_8.861-0ubuntu1_i386.deb has been successfully generated
Package /home/chip/fglrx-amdcccle_8.861-0ubuntu1_i386.deb has been successfully generated

however, when i try to run: sudo aticonfig --initial -f --adapter=all

i get:

Code:
sudo: aticonfig: command not found

thanks, ran both of those but apparently i did not do the uninstall correctly, because the installation is not working and Ubuntu still detects an existing fglrx driver.

this is the  /usr/share/ati/fglrx-install.log

Code:
                usr/sbin/ -type f | xargs chmod a+x
# set exec bit on scripts
find lib etc debian -name "*.sh" -type f | xargs chmod +x
# set the permissions on the pxpress scripts
chmod 744 debian/pxpress/switch*
dh build
make: dh: Command not found
make: *** [build] Error 127
dpkg-buildpackage: error: debian/rules build gave error exit status 2
[Error] Generate Package - error generating package : Ubuntu/natty

any ideas?

It looks like it wants you to install debhelper:
Code:
sudo apt-get install debhelper

thanks.

ran that, and then tried to reinstall and got this in my /usr/share/ati/fglrx-install.log:

Code:
dh_installdocs -pfglrx debian/AUTHORS
dh_installinit -pfglrx --name="atieventsd" --no-start --update-rcd-params="defaults 31"
Duplicate specification "O=s" for option "O"
#remove executable bits from stack
dh_install -pfglrx-amdcccle
execstack -c debian/fglrx-amdcccle/usr/lib/fglrx/bin/amdcccle
make: execstack: Command not found
make: *** [binary-arch] Error 127

if one wanted to do this install/upgrade purely via SSH at a remote station, what would the commands be to download the package and uninstall the current install?

To download files, use wget:
Code:
wget http://www2.ati.com/drivers/linux/ati-driver-installer-11-6-x86.x86_64.run

To remove packages, use apt-get:
Code:
sudo apt-get purge fglrx fglrx-amdcccle fglrx-dev

thanks, ran both of those but apparently i did not do the uninstall correctly, because the installation is not working and Ubuntu still detects an existing fglrx driver.

this is the  /usr/share/ati/fglrx-install.log

hi Keyur, I am using your exchange and i like it.

However, on the trade now page, is it possible for you to have the inputs in one box calculated for you based on the input in another box?  for example, if i have $80 in my account, and want to buy btc at $14, can you rig it so that it will calculate the number of btc itself, while also taking into account the trade commission?

I just discovered Bitcoins a short while ago, and I would like to able to mine a little too.

I am not thinking about farms, just to upgrade my PC and mine, and try to earn back the money from my investment and maybe get a little profit. Is this realistic right now, or truly I am too late to start mining?

No I don't think you are late. However, at this point you have to have good rig design + cheap electricity.

If your electricity is higher than 10c/kwh then definitely don't even bother mining. You'll probably want a rate around 6-7c/kwh.

You'll also have to do some research into which setup is able to convert electricity into hashes at a high efficiency. Also factoring in cost of equipment.

this is true if the current price of BTC holds ($15-16) but if the price moves up in response to scarcity resulting from higher difficulty, then BTC mining will be potentially as profitable as it has been up until now.  personally i believe btc are way undervalued.  but, if i am right, then it might be simpler at this time just to speculate by buying up btc.

How long have you been mining? for the millionth time, PRICE DOES NOT MOVE IN RESPONSE TO DIFFICULTY, the only thing that determines the price of BTC, is the people's demand for it.

well, you are half right.

linux command line for solo mining over lan
by
mouser98
on 03/07/2011, 18:34:14 UTC
this is a stupid question i know, but i am just learning linux and don't really know much about networking and i am stumped.  i have searched the forums for an answer but i really haven't found anything.

i have my miners set up on a linux machine and my bitcoin.exe on a windows machine.  i am using the phoenix miner and controlling it through SSH on my windows machine.  this is a typical command line for my first GPU:

./phoenix.py -u http://username:userpw@simplecoin.us:8337/ -k poclbm DEVICE=1 VECTORS BFI_INT FASTLOOP=false AGGRESSION=11

if my windows machine's IP on the network is: 192.168.0.xxx, then what address do i need to use in my command line to get phoenix to find bitcoin.exe on the windows machine?  also, what port #?

i do have the rpcuser and rpcuserpw set up in bitcoin.conf, and i did start bitcoin.exe with the -server switch.

i have seen people use difficulty divided by 25000 as a way to estimate a non-market value for btc.  currently, that would make each btc worth about $55.  i think i will hold onto mine for the time being.

Re: Mt. Gox drops to 20, reconsidering your mining rigs?
by

you need another option:  am satisfied with my rig, no plans to increase or decrease mining operations.

in another thread someone mentioned the relation between price and difficulty at difficulty divided by 25,000.  at current difficulty, that puts the price at $22.69, which is pretty close to the point the mt gox price seems to be swinging around.  of course, the denominator, 25000, will go down as more FRNs show up in the market.

in any case, i can see no reason to panic.

here is the one that i got with 4 pci-e slots for $65

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138318

That board only has two pci-e slots which can be used with video cards.

lol, tell that to my four 5830s then Smiley

If you are using risers on pci-e 1x slots for video cards, then you're killing the bandwidth. Might as well chop the card in half while you're at it.

getting 260 Mhash/sec out of each one, with 875 core clock and 900 mem clock, running at 59-64 C.  ::shrug::

Biostar A870 at Newegg for $65 has 4 pci-e slots, but you will need slot extenders
Thats exactly what I bought. I am having issues installing ubuntu on that board.
What about you?

i haven't had any mobo related issues.  i had some trouble getting ubuntu to install from usb stick onto my HDD.  it didn't want to overwrite the windows partition that was already on it.  so i just erased the whole disk and then installed ubuntu on it, and had no problems.  of course, you don't even need a HDD to run a mining rig, just a usb stick.

have you tried just running it with a usb stick?

I recommend cablesaurus.com for extenders.  he is part of our community, he is reasonably priced, ships fast and i have been happy with my cables.
