[ANN] Kaspa Next Generation (Kaspa NG) - New wallet by ASPECTRON
by

on 29/01/2024, 12:58:29 UTC
The Wallet

The wallet is under development but is functional. It is built using the Rusty Kaspa SDK and is interoperable with the Rusty Kaspa CLI wallet.

The wallet currently supports standard BIP32 (HD) accounts compatible with the Kaspa ecosystem wallets such as "kaspawallet" that use 12 or 24-word mnemonics. The wallet also supports multiple accounts (via BIP44 account derivation), the ability to create and switch between multiple wallets as well as other features such as instant transfers between wallet accounts.

Various other features have also been developed and tested as a part of the Rusty Kaspa Wallet Framework, but are not yet integrated into the Kaspa NG user interface (targeted for completion in Q1-Q2 2024). This includes:

Creation and import of multiple private keys in a single wallet

Multisig Support
Legacy wallet import (KDX and wallet.kaspanet.io)
Ability to easily export and move wallets between web and desktop applications
Upon completion and testing of the legacy compatibility, we will be migrating wallet.kaspanet.io users to the Kaspa NG infrastructure and Kaspa NG will offer an option to import KDX wallets.

Wallet Security

The key concern during the wallet development has been the supply chain vulnerabilities (hostile code injections in libraries used by developers without them realizing that they are introducing sleeping malware in their software or such malware coming in at a later date during updates). Many users have lost their funds due to these vulnerabilities including most recently Solana and Ledger Wallet ecosystem users.

To address this, Kaspa NG is developed 100% in Rust without any dependencies on web technologies or languages such as JavaScript. The native desktop application is self-contained relying strictly on Rust dependencies that cannot passively activate hostile code.

The web version of Kaspa NG also follows these principles and is built as a single Web Assembly binary. It runs as an isolated application in a web browser and on mobile devices, and does not use DOM, external JavaScript, or any web technologies.

All private in-memory data is always kept encrypted and is only temporarily decrypted to allow transaction signing or other secure operations, following which the memory containing the sensitive data is wiped.

DDoS resilience

To mitigate the potential of DDoS attacks, the software and the public node infrastructure have been designed with decentralization in mind as follows:

The public node infrastructure is comprised of multiple disjoined DDoS-mitigated nodes.
Both web and desktop applications (as well as later the Chrome extension) can connect to any Rusty Kaspa p2p node directly. Thus anyone can put up a public node and make it available internally within their organization or for public access.
Anyone can download or build Kaspa NG locally and sync directly with the Rusty Kaspa p2p network.

Re: IDAX is it SCAM?

IDAX exchange is not possible to scam it is just some of the problems that are being handled by this withdrawal I hope IDAX services fix this soon and users can withdraw their assets freely.
this does not seem to be a mild problem and can be solved as you imagine.
many things are too complicated to believe, starting with the CEO who lost with Cold Wallet and Hardwallet.
to the possibility that all staff have worked together to commit common crimes and fabricate the story that this is only the fault of a runaway CEO.

Sad to hear but dont expect too much when it comes to recovery or for its CEO to comeback.Once they do have this locking issues then retrieval would be hard specially if
the said Ceo is missing.

Hopefully he would come out soon and just giving out some valid reason of such absence but pretty sure that this incident would already implant negative impressions towards the platform
and in result on losing a big part of their users.
although their hopes are very small but all are waiting for a miracle with that.
now a number of people are waiting for the CEO to become poor and reopen Deposit and WD facilities.
although of course I will never believe again with that platform.

I became one of the victims, the latest news I got from a former IDAX staff member said that the CEO had run away with the Hardware Wallet and the key from the Cold Wallet they had.
now the telegram group I can't even access.

Blocking people from Telegram group is not going to help them with finding their CEO. So, why bother do that? They're rock bottom now and to be honest, I think it's not as simple as CEO run away with hardware wallet. What a stupid company to put all their funds on the hand of a single person. Either that or they use that as an excuse to exit scam together.

Hopefully investigation can reveal some lights, and people should stop being stupid with their funds.
it is true what you say, many people have thought that this was organized and planned crime, many victims did not believe their acknowledgment that the staff had been left by the CEO and they had nothing to do with the CEO.
one by one the staff have left the group and cannot be contacted, it seems that this is indeed a common crime that they have planned very well.

The future has never been known for certain, neither does the bounty campaign, but at the moment it is not a promising phase for bounty hunters, but I am sure, when investors return to trust the ICO or IEO projects that promise I believe that the future of Bounty Campaigns will also get better.

Re: IDAX Crypto Exchange Confirms CEO Dissappearance with Cold Wallet Keys

A long time ago many people said that they should never keep assets in the stock market, it would be risky if something happened like Upbit and IDAX, but keep it in a safer cold wallet.
IDAX exchange has been controversial for a long time but never used it after much news about IDAX with many fake volumes and other embezzlement.
Actually I have also heard that IDAX Global has cheated on some IEO projects, but I do not feel anything strange that they do to traders like me, so I keep trading there, until something bad happened a week ago that they lost the CEO those who run away with our assets are traders. fortunately I have transferred most of my assets to my personal wallet

hopefully you can withdraw your funds ASAP..
I am very sad about the current situation, I have several assets in the IDAX echanger, I have tried to do WD in the previous 5 days, and unfortunately until now I still cannot finish it. although my assets were WD before, but I was devastated by IDAX's current situation.
many of my colleagues have big assets there. I hope there is no best way out of all these problems.

you might skip some IEO, for example binance.
there is more promise just need a little luck to get a ticket.
That is the problem, when I know that IEO in Binance is sometimes profitable, but quotas are often a problem,
but when I tried IEO Crypto Market Ads on Exchange IDAX, it made me suffer a huge loss.
especially when there is a very big problem with the exchanger.

If you know and understand that the coins you have will pump, what are you waiting ??
buy and sell as soon as possible.
maybe it's just an estimate and experience from the trade so far. I'm not sure anyone really knows about the continuation of the price of a coin in crypto currency trading.

Isn't IEO always profitable?
Cheesy Cheesy
IEO profitable? Have you ever taken part in an IEO program? who says that IEO is always profitable? not all of them are profitable. even some IEO failed. and the price falls without being saved.

The price of altcoin is disappointing for some people who only make it an asset. but it will be different for those who trade. maybe altcoin prices are getting cheaper will make their assets continue to grow and when the bull run occurs they already have more altcoin than before.

Now everything can not be predicted with certainty, so many projects that are not successful and only make the work useless, but there is nothing to lose if you get more knowledge when you discuss in this forum. although they did not get income from ICO / IEO promotion projects
Downtrend is making the market worse and investing during this period only makes you lose because of the fact that in recent days the value of Bitcoin and some altcoins are collapsing. I think ICO/IEO will be similar and it will be difficult to attract many new investors so it is best to sit still and wait.

Everything is risky at the moment and I feel very depressed in the last few days. Hopefully by 2020 things will get better and investors will be actively investing in this market more.
ICO is getting worse, it is said that the concept of IEO will fix everything, but in fact now many IEOs have failed and even exchangers have often cheated this IEO concept.

this year has not convinced me that a bull run will happen soon. next year the possibilities are not very clear either. bitcoin growth seems to continue to occur in resistance.

Bitcoin has fallen back, the bull run is back away and the bear market is coming back. but this can be a good time if you intend to increase investment in cryptocurrency.

Re: Bounty hunters killed ICO?
by
moynul2050
on 21/08/2019, 10:16:44 UTC
How can ICO kill bounty hunters who receive only 1% at the best 2% of the total bullet. How can 2% affect the price of a good project that has good volumes on the exchange?
ICO killed the scam and not the bounty hunters.
yes, the scammer is the one to blame, not the bounty hunter, or even the DEV who dumps tokens that are not sold and they don't burn.
it is they who actually killed ICO.

Re: don't easily trust IEO, be careful with that
by
moynul2050
on 21/08/2019, 10:10:31 UTC
Trust in IEO projects becomes very easy to do after investors are very often disappointed by many ICO projects. but you are right, IEO is not a perfect thing, we still have to be careful in investing in IEO projects.
