I don't see why Luke Jr.'s patches should be default, they should be an optional flag. If someone wants to use their BTC to gamble they should be able to.

A second thought though is what about blacklisting known theft addresses, i.e. destination addresses that stolen funds have ended up in. This would help to deter thieves from being able to spend their stolen BTC.

Just a thought.

You don't HAVE to specify intensity, thread, clocks per pool, it is optional, the only thing not really optional is algorithm. I had multi-algorithm working fine on NiceHash with only the pool-algorithm specified, and none of the other stuff, works fine.

If you need different thread-concurrency or gpu-engine for X11 and Scrypt, how do you do that?

I don't need so there is no problem.

Ok now here is a big problem, I am using sgminer 5.0, and I just set it up for X13, it got hired, when LeaseRig went to change the pool and save the configuration, it changed the algorithm kernel to "ckolivas", where is was "marucoin-mod" before, so the renters X13 pool wouldn't work with that kernel, I had to go in and manually change the kernel back. I already tested the API save command,  and that does not affect the kernel, only when LeaseRig changes the pools.

This seems to be a hint to my previous request, but also a LeaseRig bug for now. Looks like the new api for sgminer 5.0 accepts sending an option for algorithm to the kernel, and when that option is not specified, it defaults to "ckolivas", so please, can that be fixed otherwise I can't rent my rigs out. If upon each hire the algorithm gets changed back to default I won't be able to provide service here anymore..

You might have more issues than just kernel. Sgminer 5.0 configuration is pretty fucked up, you are supposed to specify things like intensity and threads and GPU clocks per pool, so if you are using a multi-algo setup it will get messed up by LeaseRig pool switch. If you are only using it for X13 then xmk3 might be able to come up with a workaround.

You don't HAVE to specify intensity, thread, clocks per pool, it is optional, the only thing not really optional is algorithm. I had multi-algorithm working fine on NiceHash with only the pool-algorithm specified, and none of the other stuff, works fine.

I found it... here in the new API documentation:

addpool|URL,USR,PASS[,NAME,DESC,ALGO] (*)
none         There is no reply section just the STATUS section
stating the results of attempting to add pool N
The Msg includes the pool URL
                              Use '\\' to get a '\' and '\,' to include a comma
                              inside URL, USR or PASS
Name, description and algorithm are optional

So please start adding the algorithm to the addpool api command.. this is also the key to my previous request...

All good dude.  We're looking into it now.   Cool

Fantastic..

With the release of the new sgminer 5.0, you can switch algorithms on the fly. I can't help but feel that some way or another we could have a section called merged mining, where all of the providers that are using the new sgminer can host their rigs, and the renter can choose the algorithm they want...

This would revolutionize things, so that a provider doesn't have to worry about changing their provider settings to suit the most profitable algorithm. They can put their price in btc/mh/day in scrypt equivalent, and it could be displayed accordingly for the different algorithms on the fly.

example:

Scrypt   x1 BTC/GH/Day
Scrypt-N   x0.5 BTC/GH/Day
X11           x4 BTC/GH/Day
X13           x3 BTC/GH/Day
Keccak   x500 BTC/GH/Day

This way if I want to rent a rig I dont have to worry if there are enough rigs in the "X11" section, because all the rigs would be able to whatever algorithm I wanted... get the idea.. NiceHash has setup a similar thing, Im sure we could do it here too with a little thought put into it.

X11 and X13 ports on multi and direct are both showing DEAD in the new sgminer, all other algorithm ports are fine and alive... is this the case?

EDIT: the pools are showing dead, not the gpus.

If it is due to a site update, it would be nice if while updating the site you can put and easy single html page stating that the site is being updated.

Well I just checked with pingdom.com and leaserig.net is up. It is reachable from India also, (where Im at). Seems as though the DNS servers that Vodafone ( my ISP ) are using have lost Leaserig.net's name registration. Perhaps you recently updated your DNS information, and it hasn't propagated properly yet. In anycase I just added Leaserig.net's IP to my local hosts file and everything is fine again.

Code:
myshell$ host -v leaserig.net
Trying "leaserig.net"
Received 30 bytes from x.x.x.x#53 in 88 ms
Host leaserig.net not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
Received 126 bytes from x.x.x.x#53 in 79 ms

I'm in Spain, and I can't access the site either. I have to use a VPN to jump to USA, then it works.

LeaseRigs.net's IP address is 23.236.58.114 , you can simply add that to your hosts file. Everything will work fine then. It is only a DNS issue.

EDIT: I am assuming you already know how to add names to your hosts file, if you don't then let me know I can help you out.

KRISHNA has gone offline again.

Due to internet connection that went down. I extended the lease, and refunded lost BTC.

Has anybody been able to use p2p Pools while leasing their rigs? For the life of me I can't get it to work! It's stratum so it should work...just comes up Dead. Anybody else having this kind of issue?
M
Same issue. Using LRP by any chance?
I am indeed - is that what is causing the problem?

No idea, but it does seem to be the common denominator

I don't use LRP, and I have had many people rent my rigs out and hash at p2p's .

The new percentage price modifications are not working for me. It sets all prices to 0.0010  Undecided

Same happens to me.

See my post above. Make sure you are modifying using 100 percent as basis (e.g. 105 or 95, not 5%). If that doesn't help you may need to recreate the plans, that's the only thing that worked for me after it got stuck at 0.001 and even a 500% adjustment couldn't move it.

Even with percentage (eg 105 %) it doesn't work. I thought that it will with decimals (1.05), but it put everything to 0.0010. Had to recreate all plans from the begging.

Same here.
