It pretty funny that the heavy traffic is stuffed into one subforum and the management refuses to create sub forums or a system of organizing the information. Bitcointalk.org OWES the community to ban altcoin discussion here and let someone else take over and do it right. As it was stated before in this thread, the resources and interest are not here to support altcoins the way they need to be supported.
I suppose they might do better without being dragged down by the way this forum organizes / displays / treats altcoins. This forum sure would be much worse off (sharp decrease in traffic, revenue etc.) as it is clear people want access to many altcoins in one area. I would say yes, let this forum go by the wayside to make a dedicated popular forum that can support altcoins.

Does ypool go down often?
Today it's all day down. But usually it's stable.
I started using another pool, whichever one that distributes coyote_miner. Seems pretty lame though, all my pcs appear to hash slower and it seems like the fee is 30%.. Any pool recommendations?

I have been out of sync for hours now....I looked over at my client afew hours ago and it went from fully sync'd to out of sync. I didn't close it or anything. I have active connections to 8 nodes right now...Anyone else have this problem?

Due to a recent decision from the management team on Overclock.net we now will no longer support the discussion of Bitcoin or any other elements of it.
The Use of Bitcoin breaches our TOS as you can use Bitcoin to earn currency. It specifically states in the OCN TOS that you may not Directly or Indirectly profit from the use of OCN. As such we cannot support the Bitcoin project. We also feel that the Bitcoin project does not fit in with goals we strive for on OCN.
We have nothing against the Bitcoin project, it simply does not fit the purpose and goals of Overclock.Net

I can understand not advertising about your own websites to some extent. But not allowing discussion of Bitcoins because you can make money from it? Seriously?
BTW, the PRIMARY motivation of OCN for doing this is to keep everyone on the site folding@home - it has nothing to do with the actual bitcoin discussion. OCN is one of the top ranked communities for folding, and I'm sure they don't want to see their ranking drop because a bunch of folders switched over to bitcoining.

I am unsure of who sent this to you, but discussion of the project was not banned after the distributed computing forum announcement was made (the second version).
I am not currently a moderator so I cannot speak on behalf of the forum in any official way but I can assure you there was no hoarding or intent to cause harm to anyone by not allowing bitcoin discussion. Moderators of Overclock.net are held to pretty high standards, they are not out to get you as you seem to think they are (not sure why you think they would be?) Some imaginations appear to be running wild here.

My source is very creditable and screw your high standard bs. Xtremesystem is the only group with high standard.
Not sure if you're trying to troll me or not here? I am Mr.N00bLaR. I don't doubt that people have been participating in mining that are members and moderators over there, but they have not been enforcing the rule in the manner that you are indicating. Have you been banned from the forums? ...you seem to be pretty hostile.

I don't think you guys frequently visit Overclock.net. They have a very specific Terms of Service agreement that the moderators are required to enforce. Until recently when it was explained better, they believed it was in violation of the ToS plain and simple.
True but when it comes to bitcoin the site that has been supporting it for years and has first starter status and a developed forum for all bitcoin traders beats a new start any day hands down
Remember if they started two years earlier in 2011 a lot of Overclockers would be rich by now
