Poolwaffle:

Can you display the server time on the personal stats page?  Would make it easier to see how far into the day we are, since time zones aren't accounted for.

This.   Already asked for it once myself but never saw any reply.

It is displaying as UTC. So, days "start" around 7pm EST, 6pm CST, 5pm MST, and 4pm PST. Next Sunday it'll be an hour later.

I love how America just calls it eastern standard time instead of American Eastern Standard Time, plenty of countries have an east Tongue.

why btc per mh dropped badly to 0.00780040 Angry

*edit : lets wait and see fixes will work or not Smiley

That's only a partial day it says on the table, that figure probably wont be accurate representation of the final number for that day as it could have been a bad morning but the afternoon is better. Although Poolwaffle mentioned some server errors earlier that would also explain a bad number/day.

Poolwaffle how accurate are the partial day numbers compared to the final number? if they can be a bit off might be worth not showing it until a day is finalised.

Hi all,

Is anyone else getting error502 bad gateway when trying to connect to the better stats page ? Huh

Yeah looks like the influx of users has overloaded Wil's servers again, poor dude I doubt his donations are even covering daily costs!

just an fyi, my hashrate that is showing is waaaaaay off. I'm really at about 1.75 mh/s rock steady on the rig I have pointing to this but sometimes it says 600kh/sec and sometimes 3500kh/sec lol...

Read the thread this is normal, it has been explained 100 times in the last 25 pages.

+1 for this server in the asia pacific region, hopefully the data centre you've chosen in asia is a lower ping for me here in Australia, uswest and to a lesser extent useast aren't so bad but eu is definitely not Australia friendly at 350ms+ (although some pools and internet sites dream of being as low as 350 haha).

The server is actually physically up, just not active for mining.  You can test with a ping to see if its better (please anyone that tests that would normally use an asia server post results):

Saying it again, because some people don't read things unless its in bold and allcaps.
THIS IS NOT UP FOR MINING, ONLY TESTING FOR PING PURPOSES
ping sea.wafflepool.com

ouch 380ms, guess Australia's international connections to America are far superior than to Asia (which I already suspected).

Also: As usual, we've got 2 withdrawals pending at Cryptsy, one from late last night, one from this morning.  As this has become a pretty standard thing, it looks like their hot wallet runs out overnight, and someone refills it mid-day.  I'm not nearly as worried about it anymore, and it just means that payouts on average will be later in the day (same as the last few days).  With me requesting withdrawals early in the day, them arriving later, and running payouts when they come through.

Hi Poolwaffle - I note that Cryptsy added “makewithdrawal” call to thier api.   ("This allows you to make a withdrawal to a trusted withdrawal address"). Could you not just run this once every 30 mins - hour and heavily reduce the impact of their hot wallet limitations?

I'd rather not have 48 tiny transactions per day sent to my wallet please, it increases transaction fees when sending the bitcoins again to an exchange or buying things.

I'd like to add that I was completely wrong about my issues. I thought it was my slow CPU miners, but it can't be because as everyone else said, the diff should have just increased variance, but I switched to Middlecoin (which is locked at 1024 diff) and I'm getting no REJECTED shares. So sorry for that confusion, but I only seem to have this problem on Wafflepool, which is too bad. I've tried multiple Wafflepool servers, but just get continuous REJECTED shares. I'll keep trying, I really want to mine here. Thanks to all for the information and suggestions.
Definitely sounds like something wrong with your stratum proxy.  Are you using the stratum CPU miner, or longpoll?

--

@wafflepool: I would say replace the miners page with a summary of how many miners we have in various hashrate brackets.  Something like:

51.2MH+: 4 miners
25.6MH-51.2MH: 6 miners
12.8MH-25.6MH: 10 miners
6.4MH-12.8MH: 30 miners
3.2MH-6.4MH: 20 miners
1.6MH-3.2MH: 20 miners
800KH-1.6MH: 200 miners
400KH-800KH: 130 miners
200KH-400KH: 150 miners
100KH-200KH: 100 miners
0-100KH/s: 100 miners

Provides an interesting stats summary, whereas the current miners page has grown fairly useless except as a competition to see where you sit in the pool.

This ^ no direct stats makes those who wanted to opt-out happy and shuts the voyeurs up that wanted to see said stats and were mad when their favourite hash master was removed Tongue.

Waffle and team, I want to make a suggestion to you guys.

I think you should implement registrations to control the number of hashing power. The faster you grow the faster you will encounter issues, and the need to expand. Now, if you are willing to continue to keep upgrading your gear and do all the work on software, and manage to do it with no much downtime, more power to you. But, I wouldnt want to see you fall because of technical problems. One of the many reasons MiddleCoin went down the tubes.

I dont think it would inconvenience people to go and register, it takes no time. What it will give you is an ability to regulate traffic and how much youre willing to accept at any moment. Say you want to add 5 more GH, you resume registrations and when a specific number is reached you close it down.

Thoughts?
No...

Besides, WafflePool has handled a 10fold increase in hashing power almost overnight quite well... I foresee little problem stemming from future growth.

I doubt it is necessary yet but is poolwaffles problem, if he can't handle the load then is certainly one way to go, I personally wouldn't mind not that hard to choose a username and password so long as he doesn't want my social security number, address and the name of my grade 2 teacher Tongue.

Poolwaffle any chance you could start posting these tidbits on the reddit as well, I know it is a pain having to post on a hundred sites but would be great to not have to read 40 messages just to see what's happening. Sorry to be a bother.

When one is being paid multiple times a week even when the occasional payment is late I don't see the problem, I'd personally be against the fee rise just to stabilize the payment schedule. Although the slush fund is a great idea I can personally wait 6 months.

Ohh for gods sake, you all arent employees of wafflepool you're running your own small business, and any business that can't handle a payment a month late let alone a couple of days is doomed to fail miserably, any good business knows they need to keep enough cash on the books to cover late payments.

And your analogies of salaries being late... very few jobs in the world pay daily and those that do don't have intermediary exchanges etc to go through to pay you, they're cash out of a till, further I don't think I know anyone who has never had a late paid salary in their life, it happens on occasion admin doesnt get the pays in before close of trade once in a blue moon, public holidays etc.

The pool is essentially brand new and just went from less than 1 GH to over 10 GH, that is bound to cause a few hiccups, give the poor guy even just a week to iron things out not mere hours.

Finally everything in cryptocurrency is volatile, this is not an industry of security, if you can't handle the wet consider getting out of the water.

Need more activity from you all on the reddit http://www.reddit.com/r/wafflepool/ so much easier and more pleasant having topics seperated into their own thread, such a pain searching through a 60 page forum thread. Maybe there will be less repetition there too (pipe dream).
