I suspect that China is planning to ban cryptocoins, but is doing it slowly so that big investors have the time to sell their coins to smaller fish.  I presume that they would rather deal with 10,000 workers who lost 10,000 USD each than with one tycoon who lost 100 million because of the ban.

Perhaps you are right, however, from the way they run things, I would think one bullet in the head in quiet settings is cheaper (in many aspects) than 10,000 bullets in street riots.

I know this must ve been answered earlier, but since I havent included my payout address in the notes when I ordered (I have added it to my post here) like other people have, do I need to send someone a PM with it to be sure everything is fine?

You will get an email, asking for that information.
Maybe you already had, check your spam folder.

I think the offer is really good, but I have to wonder why. What does the buyer know that we don't? and for that reason, I voted no.

that was not so clever as you may think.

frankly if you don't trust them to look out after us you should have voted to take you cash out in r9 to r 12.

I must say, philipma, that your logic here is a mystery to me.
If I understand correctly, the buyer who made the offer is from outside of DZMC? Therefore, why do you imply, that thetopham mistrusts DZMC?

Re voting, I am waiting for a final say from Bob. He mentioned bringing a few tricks to try, so let him try.

The hardware has been underperforming so far and it appears to be a hosting nightmare from maintenance POV, so I might vote yes to sell for purely humanitarian reasons, but I need a final assessment from Bob to decide.

Any binary for Linux x64/x32, please? Cannot compile it in my KUbuntu x64 system.

A 32 bit, cudaminer version 2013-11-20 (alpha), compiled on Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS

download 'whitecuda.jpg' image from http://postimg.org/image/ep07wmzjh/

verify the downloaded size, should be 4391396 Bytes

now do this:
Code:
$ dd if=whitecuda.jpg of=cudaminer bs=1 skip=1784

and there is your cudaminer binary - size 4389612 Bytes.

BTW: you really shouldn't trust binaries from the Internet...

This is a bit off topic from where this thread is going, but I need a little help if anyone can provide it. I have 2 k16s, fully assembled and visually everything checks out, but neither one is recognized when the USB is plugged in. No blinking LEDs, just buzzing caps.
If anyone would mind helping me out, I'd have no problem tipping what I can or test these via your pool/address of choice.

it sounds like you might have a short somewhere in the power supply output. Did you measure voltages with a multimeter? Do you have an oscilloscope?

Let's take a minute here to define EXACTLY what we are talking about here otherwise a vote is meaningless.
When I first read this thread and voted the above quotes were what I based my vote on,

But with this as an option
as a price point  ant miner is selling a non auction right here

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=348747.0

they ask 4.25 BTC for a 180 gh machine.   this is a flat price.   seems to me we could list our 1 for 11 BTC  it would be a bargain compared to the 180 gh x 3 = 12.75  for 540 gh for unproved tech.

while we would be 11 BTC for 550gh proven tech.

I would probably change my vote. Starting at 20 or 25K but then considering 11btc (11K) is half of what I voted on.

In order to make this valid I believe we need to set a price that we sell at, anything less than that and we keep hashing.

Its hard to vote when the target is changing by 50% or more

+1 (incidentally, 1 share)

How about selling one (with a starting price +$25k) and keeping the other, distributing hashrate and proceeds between both R5 & R6?

Forgot to add: here's video of the Coincraft Desk that was released yesterday:

https://bitmine.ch/?p=2961

Something in this video bugs me. When they show the bfgminer screen, the date shown is 31.10.2013, 15:31, and uptime is 0 days, so one has to conclude it is the time the video was taken. Yet it was released on 23.11.2013.

One has to wonder, why?

[...]
i made a 64bit build many months ago before fruittool posted his i believe but i used cuda 5.0 not 5.5
i've mentioned this but i also noticed before chubner1 you said it did not help speed (which it did of course on Fermi i tested)
i went on since July making tons of other features and fix etc and even shared it with some people around the scene they love it.
but if i comment here i get ignored and or argued with lol
So i keep my version to myself Wink
[...]
i fixed the stratum freezing issue on my builds and it didn't happen for a couple months..
[...]
other FIX's and feature improvements also Wink
[...]
(and so on, and so forth)

Well, so you took a working Open Source code, made some improvements, and *even* shared with a couple of friends. Do I read that right?

How very generous of you...
(in case you didn't notice, this was sarcastic)

Please tell, why didn't you make a fork on github instead?
Oh, and that screenshot of yours.. I do not see even a slight mention of the original author(s). Not nice.

Anyway, the recent 'official' version from cbuchner1's github repo compiles and works for me just fine.
Dual GTX480 setup. Around 440 kh/s combined.

Is it too late to back out? It looks like we won't ROI with bitcoin at this point. Plus, all this crazy attention is surely going to boost the difficulty like crazy.

Seriously?  BTC/USD value has doubled, has difficulty doubled?

M
I think weredo911 meant that positive ROI in BTC will not be achieved. As in '1 BTC invested ->  1+ BTC returned'. Rate of BTC/USD has nothing to do with it, except that hosting (fixed, paid in USD) will be affordable for a bit longer.
