I hope you are using a 20amp outlet. If its a 15a it really shouldn't be used for mining in my humble opinion.

I plugged a lamp into where I have my 2 Antminer S3+ running. Every minute or so the light flickers slightly.

Anyway to solve this? I am assuming this is inrush current with the mining cores changing clock rates or fans adjusting their speeds.

I flashed the S3+ and it looks different now, I think the voltage wasn't 0000 before and now it is. Another thing I notice, sometimes the Antpool works and other pools don't. Hopefully this fixes it.

PSU is EVGA 1300 G2. Set it to S3 voltage same thing. I am going to flash it with the latest firmware again, and uncheck "save settings".  I also have another miner, its the same S3+, same pool, same power supply and it runs fine...

PSU model?
can you post a bigger screen as this one is almost unreadable?
what happens when you underclock?

I tried BTCGuild and I got 52 GH/S.

link to miner stats?

I am pointed at eligius.

what does the pool say about your speed?
point it to nicehash or westhash or eligius and let's see how it goes

Having a problem with the S3+ miner I returned to Bitmain to exchange for a new miner. The miner they sent was not brand new, and I have having the same problem.  Please advise on what I should do now.  I already tried to upgrade the firmware.

Even if you did have a leak it would be dried up from the heat of the miners if you have enough of them. Feel free to PM me photos of before/after.

Bluemax is awesome. It can be used on the walls as I have here, or you can use it on outside foundation as well. It acts like rubber and actually can expand and contract/stretch. My basement has 2 sump pumps and a backup water powered pump as well. The basement is always pretty dry now, but I am the type who leaves nothing to chance... I had a radon fan installed, and plexiglass lids put on the sump pumps. The gray one you see is the water powered pump, below that is a Zoler Die case metal pump.... I plan to use 2" XPS on the walls and then use Delta FL on the floors.... For any leaks, remove old cement and use Hydraulic Cement before coating with blue...

Thanks, I'll see if I can track some down and give it a try!

It's a 1000 sq foot basement, unfinished because of mining operations, nothing to catch on fire if a miner throws a rod. (and they do!) The miners also provide heat now it's 5-10 degrees out Smiley After it gets warm out it is probably cheaper just to buy BTC and finish the basement.

There are just a few of my miners, I have about 25 S3 and also S3+... They are sitting on a concrete block, and then for extra cooling they are on top of wire racks. The wire racks are also there in case there would ever be any water. All electrical is 20 amp drops (one per side of the 4 port box). The blue stuff is BlueMax waterproofing...

cute place for miners Smiley
is it abandoned building?
or failed construction site ?

Re: Bitmain sending me new S3+ units

UPDATE: They send me shipping numbers that 2 boxes were sent out, but they wont confirm what they sent me are brand miners as promised. Please, anyone working at Bitmain can you confirm what you shipped out were new units? I wanted to RETURN these 2 bad miners, not refurbish them. I lost over a month of mining time, I did not know the labels they send were Value UPS labels that took 2 weeks to ship back to Colorado. Can you please let me know Bitmain what you sent to me?

Bitmain (or anyone working for Bitmain) - I returned 2 of my DOA miners and requested new ones be sent to me. Can you please confirm the 2 miners that were sent back to me from my return are new ones. I really lost a lot of time mining (A full month already on two S3+ miners!!!) doing the UPS value shipping labels that took a full 2 weeks, and refurbished miners would not be good at this late stage of the game. Can you please confirm that the 2 miners I was sent were brand new as I was promised?I am concerned because you were going to let me know, but never responded to my request to let me know what was send out.

I am using the 0103 on my S3+, it works but just don't lose power because it wont hash right until you do a reboot in the web interface.

OK, I fixed the 0Gh/s problem. No matter how many times I rebooted or what I did to my S3, I only got 0Gh/s. The fix was that I needed to physically reboot it. Now, its running fine on the 0103 firmware with the S3 voltage settings.

That's what I like to KNOW the voltage ? Because when I physically Rebooted it did not work for me. Still the same amount of MASS HW ERRORS!!! JAN 03 AND 08 THE ARE REAL GARBAGE!!!   Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry

I use the Fri Oct 24 19:46:59 CST 2014 firmware which came installed on my S3+. Reset button does not work but this firmware works very well otherwise.

I just did the drop down and chose S3 default, I saw S3+ voltage settings, but assume that won't work, especially I am only using 2 PCI-E in the miner.

What voltage settings are you running?

I tried even flashing the S3 to 0103, i rebooted still nothing. I will try to physically reboot the miner now I guess.

I tried flashing to 1024, nothing. I just did the save and apply it didn't work, but the line for voltage on the S3 is blank. Should it be? hmm. Going to reboot once more...

when the top line shows zero's in the hash rate, try the following:-

log in and go to:-

status tab

miner configuration tab

advanced settings tab (grayed out till you select it)....... then re-select the frequency, then save and apply.

(there was a reference to this back in August when the S1/S3 upgrades were first offered)

Yes, all I did was reboot, and the graph is even still showing 1.52 peak. I wonder if I should try the Jan firmware on it, I am just afraid it might fry the PCI-E like the other guy said. heh. Damn, why did I reboot!

I made a huge mistake, I rebooted one of my S3s. Now this is all I get. Can anyone shed some light on what to do? I tried rebooting a few times, it says "Alive" but I get nothing!!......

img

Are you sure you just rebooted?
I had a similar screen when I tried to run cgminer 4.6.1 on an S1 but forgot to modify the soft link to point to the new binary. I am not saying that is what you did, but clearly your cgminer is NOT starting .... try doing it manually (first stop then start) via the UI. If that fails, SSH into the rig and type cgminer-api then enter and post here the response you get.

I am still running on Jan firmware on my S3+, its still running fine at 450Gh/s. I am not planning on messing with it anytime soon since it's finally working after many firmware updates and hours of work.

I think no, first time I got XML errors.. I even unchecked save the first time, didn't help. second time I saved settings.

finally running 0103 my S3+ is running correctly. 2 bugs on it, one is the Web interface reboot needed every time. Bug number 2 was I had to apply the firmware twice.

when you flashed the January firmware twice in a row did you get all those HD ERRORS after re-flashing second time ? yes no ?   Undecided
