Re: How can you invest in bitcoin without being scammed?
by

You should only purchase bitcoins or any other cryptocurrency in trusted sites such as Coinbase or even Robinhood. Same principle as anything else, you should buy only from verified sellers.

Re: Your investment strategy?

The key with making a profit strategy that's personal is to get to know ourselves. I've discovered over years of buying and selling, trading and now holding, making money and losing money, missing out on opportunities that cost more than everything else combined essentially that the best plan for me is something safe and simple, and that is from my own self-knowledge, and I realize that's not the right plan for everyone else.

Re: Is Bitcoin a Digital Gold??
by
muchachita14
on 02/10/2018, 13:16:12 UTC
Many bitcoiners say that Bitcoin is like digital gold. But there is osmething these bitcoiners are missing. Bitcoin is not digital gold. It is a nice analogy, but really what it comes dangerously close to is a marketing device meant to mislead people into thinking Bitcoin is something that it is not.
Bitcoin is comprised of code and manmade programmed mathematics govern how many bitcoins there ever will be, but when it comes to gold and silver, God and nature have decided how much gold and silver there will be.

Re: Bitcoin has stabilized?

Since falling from $7,400 to $6,300 on September 6, Bitcoin has stabilized in the $6,400 region, providing the crypto market with a small breathing room.

Bitcoin has been fairly stable at $6,500 throughout the past 48 hours, recording a movement that has allowed tokens to minimize losses against BTC and other major cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin is not anonymous, but rather pseudo-anonymous. By now, most Bitcoin veterans know this. It’s less obvious to many, however, why Bitcoin is not really anonymous by default, and what can be done to de-anonymize Bitcoin users and what Bitcoin users can do to reclaim their privacy.

Re: Perspective about HODL.
by

Since I started investing in Crypto in January, all I do is watch the charts non-stop. I don't even have a big investment by many people's standards but I treat a $20 trade like it's 20k. I have seen people say that if they had just invested in crypto and then applied the HODL practice, they'd have made more money than with all of their day trading or swing trading. Which is probably true for many people. I invest and HODL on most things but I keep a float of a few hundred bucks worth of ETH purely for playing on the exchanges and seeing if I can grab a few extra points of ETH. I probably would be better off just letting the ETH sit there but where's the fun in that? A part of the appeal of Crypto for me is how volatile the market is compared to the regular stock market.

Re: What if Government bans Bitcoins?
by
muchachita14
on 28/09/2018, 12:49:26 UTC
If a government decides to make trading or possessing Bitcoins illegal, questions will be raised about how exactly it will enforce such a ban. It is impossible for a government to seize your Bitcoins, unless you decide to handover your private keys. However, the majority of citizens and institutions like to stay on the right side of the law. So the demand for Bitcoin would plummet if the government decided to ban it. All exchanges in that country would also be shuttered and buying/selling Bitcoin would be difficult and risky. This would suffocate Bitcoin in that country and the government’s objectives might be achieved.

It is almost 2018 and it is always wiser to start securing your financial future/independence.

Anyway, the word “safe” does not really exist in the world of investing, But what I would say is that you can minimize risk if you use BTC in crypto.

Re: Does bitcoin control the market?
by
muchachita14
on 20/09/2018, 08:08:41 UTC
Bitcoin is the world’s first decentralized digital currency. The ‘digital’ part is self-explanatory. The term ‘decentralized’ means that there is no central authority like the Federal Reserve in the U.S.A or The Reserve Bank in India, that is in charge of Bitcoin. There is no authority that sets the price/value of Bitcoin, production and supply rate etc, for Bitcoin.

So a question arises, How is the value of Bitcoin determined?

The value of Bitcoin is determined entirely by the forces of supply and demand. There is no 3rd party involved in a transaction (miners are different case). This is the beauty of decentralization.

More the demand, more the price/exchange rate rises, as simple as that.

Re: Why do some people in crypto still wish the downfall of Bitcoin?
by
muchachita14
on 20/09/2018, 07:42:29 UTC
We should be celebrating the success that bitcoin is now finally bringing Cryptocurrencies to the masses, not wishing it to FO. We've barely taken off in a brand new market and we have such negativity within the community, it's quite concerning really. From my point of view, it makes absolutely no sense why anyone would hate it to the point they want it to vanish. People should remember, without bitcoin cryptos would probably still be a figment of someone's imagination. Fine, we get the tech is flawed, so what, it WILL eventually be fixed, be patient. In my humble opinion, I believe bitcoin, as a brand, is vital to the success of all cryptos in the future but to wish it away is wishing the birth of cryptos away too, so be careful what you wish for.

Re: Banks will always be against cryptocurrencies?
by
muchachita14
on 20/09/2018, 07:29:46 UTC
A fiat money system where central banks can and do literally print money at will has its weaknesses. That’s why hard assets like gold are so popular among smart investors: as real stores of value, they provide a safety net against currency depreciation.

However, it’s doubtful that the same applies to cryptocurrencies. Despite what the crypto-evangelists will tell you, digital tokens will never and can never replace gold as your financial hedge.

Re: What do you Think the True Value of Bitcoin Is?
by
muchachita14
on 20/09/2018, 07:11:03 UTC
Before we try to value a bitcoin we would need to define it as a currency or as an investment. Its use as a means of payment with some merchants can lead us to see the bitcoin as a currency not tied to a country and without central bank.

Bitcoins are usually measured in terms of their exchange rate to the Japanese Yen and US dollar as these two currencies remain the main currencies for which bitcoins are exchanged.

We will now try to value bitcoins as a currency using the minimal-value approach.

All major currencies have a central bank that monitors the exchange rate of their currency respective to other currencies and mostly to the dollar. Contrary to most traded currencies, bitcoin does not have a central bank or an entity monitoring its exchange rate. Therefore, bitcoin exchange rate to the dollar or to the Japanese yen could theoretically go down to zero.

Re: Would you still invest in Crypto related projects, if you know it was a scam?
by
muchachita14
on 17/09/2018, 11:56:55 UTC
No! You should not invest. When you make this kind of investment even you know it was a scam which you should never do, you are speculating. This is not a useful activity. You’re playing a psychological, win-lose battle against other humans with money as the sole objective. Even if you win money through dumb luck, you have lost time and energy, which means you have lost.
