Re: Is it better to save money or invest it?
by
muffinbiller
on 26/05/2017, 03:17:10 UTC
Saving - is putting money aside, bit by bit. You usually save up to pay for something specific, like a holiday, a deposit on a home, or to cover any emergencies that might crop up, like a broken boiler. Saving usually means putting your money into cash products, such as a savings account in a bank or building society.

Investing - is taking some of your money and trying to make it grow by buying things you think will increase in value. For example, you might invest in stocks, property, or shares in a fund.

Re: Advice on most profitable crop to plant? Can only use one acre.
by

on 26/05/2017, 03:13:22 UTC
Garlic. The payoff on growing garlic can be big for those who grow “gourmet” garlic. There are 3 types of gourmet garlic, also called hardneck garlic. They are Rocambole, Purplestripe and Porcelain, and once you have experienced their superior flavor, you’ll never want to go back to ordinary garlic again. That’s why customers are willing to pay high prices – as much as $10 a pound – to get their favorite varieties. Another grower and customer favorite is Elephant garlic, whose large, mild cloves bring $6-$8 per pound. In good soil, an acre of Elephant garlic can yield 15,000 pounds. It is very hard to lose a crop of garlic crop, as it tolerates a wide range of soil and weather conditions. That’s why some growers  call garlic the “mortgage lifter.”

Mitch McConnell who is a real POS. When he smiles, he looks like he's just tricked or forced somebody (the American public) to eat sh!t and he's trying to not laugh. When he's not smiling, but he's talking, he's lying.

This is going to get a lot of people that hate Obama and only see the negative, and then a lot of people that worship him and only see the good.

He's done good and bad. So as every other president in the past. Everyone is going to have a different opinion so there's no "best" president. Not even Obama, though I love him lol.

Re: Is pakistan threat to the world
by

on 22/05/2017, 01:11:57 UTC
Is Pakistan a threat? Hmmm....they have been a thorn in the side of India forever....India has nuclear capabilities...Fundamentalists are the governing forces there, true...But the real answer is this....NUCLEAR CAPABILITY is a threat to the world in anybodys hands....Lets look at the history a minute...In Chernobyl they had a meltdown accident that decimated that area...Everytime the USA shoots off a Tomahawk missile they are releasing the radiation of depleted uranium(45,000 year half life). Sure we are a Western Democracy that uses radiation against everyone that is around one of those afcter it explodes....And anyways the USA & Russia unilaterely destroyed their nuclear armanents. The threat in Nuclear lies in the hands that set it off....Basic Science has taught us that one nuclear bomb going off will end the world as we know it.....Glen Rose, Texas has a Nuclear Plant that is a threat to the world.....

And who is really going to believe that Israel wouldn't do it they were pushed into it......All the people of that region, have been warring back and forth since time began...Don't even believe that Israel wouldn't ever use their capabilities., they want to keep their small parcel of land that the US/England helped them to acquire....

Re: What's your opinion of gun control?
by
muffinbiller
on 21/05/2017, 01:51:32 UTC
I am against gun control 100%. I think those for gun control are missing the real reason behind crimes with a weapon. And that reason is criminals don’t care about laws. You can make all the laws you want and there will still be crime. Proof of this is countries that ban civilians from possessing a firearm and yet people are still being killed by firearms. Japan for example has very restrictive firearm laws yet criminals there still kill people and rob people with firearms.

The only way to reduce crime is to scare the bejesus out of criminals. Not be all sweet on them. They steal a car they get beat with the caning punishment used in other countries. This is a very painful punishment and imprints their mind that stealing results in extreme pain. Public executions such as hanging should be used and televised.
We need to enforce the laws we have. Its illegal to kill, rob, assault others, etc do those laws prevent that? No. So how is banning weapons going to stop that?
Banning firearms or restricting firearms only disarms the law biding and make them easy prey for criminals.
Example; why do some drunk drivers have over a dozen convictions? Did the law against driving drunk stop them? No! But I would bet you $100 that if you beat the hell out of them with a wooden cane after the 2nd conviction you wouldn’t see as many repeat drunk drivers! And if you executed a drunk driver for killing some one I know they wont be a repeat offender.

So lets get tough on the criminals and help not hinder the public to defend themselves.

Re: That Great Big Beautiful Wall
by

on 21/05/2017, 01:30:46 UTC
Donald Trump's wall is simply pandering to the masses. He is reading his own press. He cannot truly believe that building a wall will seriously address the complex issue of immigration. He cannot be that shallow, right? He speaks like he has always done, like he is still on his own TV show. He reigned supreme on his show. He decided on who would stay and who would go. He talks like that is exactly how he would run the country. And people are falling for this? How does he expect to run the country like this? He cannot simply impose his rule on the country and decide what is good and what is bad. Makes him no better than what we already have. So, back to the question. No. I agree with some of the other comments here...the Berlin and Great Wall, great answer and he cannot fire Mexico because they won't do what he wants them to do. Put more effort into making the process of legal immigration more attainable in less time. Maybe more people would follow the rules.

Brain damage. Binge drinking can cause blackouts, memory loss and anxiety. Long-term drinking can result in permanent brain damage, serious mental health problems and alcohol dependence or alcoholism. ... Alcohol can damage parts of the brain, affecting behaviour and the ability to learn and remember.

Re: Humans vs Evolution
by
muffinbiller
on 21/05/2017, 01:14:19 UTC
The first step was standing upright. This enabled primitive apes to move out of the forests onto the Savannas where their upright posture enabled them to see further for their own protection and the identification of potential pray.
The use of the opposable thumb is another significant factor which had already been achieved by apes enabling them to grasp things. Standing enhanced this quality as they were now able to run with their hands free to use weapons. Standing tall, in a group also makes you look stronger to predators, and rivals such as baboons. The other advantage is that you expose a smaller percentage of your body (top of head and shoulders only) to the sun, and whilst most animals are seeking shade in the hottest part of the day, humans were able to keep going for longer.
Tool making can be seen in chimps and benobos. But this again was a vital ingredient in evolution.
More brain power is an expensive commodity in evolution, but bipedalism seem to have given early man the best possible reason for this attribute to be useful.
Once growing brain power became useful with upright, tool carrying humans, this aspect of evolution has enabled the ballooning of the brain. This seemed to have stopped about 6 thousand years ago, with the invention of sedentism and agriculture. Evolution now seems to occur in the abstract realm of knowledge. Sadly many have not kept up and still want to repeat the "knowledge" of our primitive ancestors and continue to believe in Creation

Re: Trump is better than Obama?
by

on 15/05/2017, 05:07:30 UTC
Trump has shown himself to be very effective, Obama had both the House and Senate during his first two years and little was done, Trump also has the same advantage ans he is doing a whole lot in such time. He is a businessman and he knows the value of time.
YES, One thing for sure is he LOVES this Country, unlike OBAMA. Progressives spend the majority of their time Concentrating on trying to become another Country when they should be Concentrating on getting them to be more like uis.
