some know who is the dev of heavycoin and how can i talk with him?

Hi I.G.S-security,

You can find the details for the developers (keccak512 & nomisugi) on the first page of this thread - they list their BitMessage addresses which is their preferred method of contact.

If you'd like to have a chat about Heavycoin feel free to message me here or contact me on mumbly@mail.com, I can field general questions and in some cases help make sure the devs look out for your messages as we check in with each other about current topics/concerns weekly.

Great news! I will donate some coins for the faucet for start Smiley
Please do it also if you can, and I think we still have bounty for faucet, mumbly? Smiley

asdf55 - you called me out like a Gentleman, and I'll respond in kind. Tongue

I've just dropped 8,000HVC in to MultiFaucet.tk to keep the reward at 0.1HVC per drop.

My challenge to the community - if you folks can eat up 5,000HVC through the faucet in seven days from the time of this post I'll drop an additional 30,000HVC so that the reward will increase to 1HVC per drop while the balance stays above 10,000HVC Smiley

If you guys get through the 5,000HVC in the next 48 hours from the time of this post - I'll personally match the Heavyfund contribution and drop a total of 60,000HVC for the next drop.

It's been a while since we've had some fun on this board - sharing with Twitter and Facebook now.

Cheers,
M

We should be HAPPY mintpal delisted HVC, with the start of mintpal v2 most ppl reporting total breakdown, missing coins, dumps by ~70-90% the v2 exchange is in total breakdown!

Yeah, it's hard not to have a certain feeling of schadenfreude about their v2 launch.

I can't believe even two days before they dropped us I pointed a further two people in their direction *incoherent mean things about them*

I wish them the best in their future endeavors, and by endeavors I mean uncontrollable house fires Smiley

Hey folks,

Hope everyone is well.

@Jonesd - nothing specific to report right now mate, I know version 1.4 is being worked on, but not sure how close it is.

Some news I thought I'd share - the White Puma guys who are behind the app for sending coins on Facebook have just released a product for accepting altcoins (including HVC) anywhere online. I'm still playing with it so no review yet, but these guys are doing good work so I'm happy to be in their camp: http://www.whitepuma.net/cryptowiz-widget/

Hey guys,

Just wanted to take a moment to thank xocel for his continued work to get this service back online - it's much appreciated.

For those of us with a programming/networking background, I'm sure we have had those moments where sometimes the machine is just simply haunted - well done getting it all figured out man and not just killing it with fire (also an acceptable answer Smiley)

More than 3.000 blocks now mined at 300+ block reward while it should have been 8, and even the votes are still at 300+ when they should have been at a max of 8 days ago.
Mumbly is a fix coming for this?

Hey guys,

I've asked Keccak to take a look at your messages and let us know what's happening.

I've always found asdf55 to be careful with his numbers, but it's not out of the question that there's something we haven't taken in to account/mis-calculated about the current block reward.

Keep in mind that we don't have a confirmed problem yet, but by all means we should look in to what's happening.

I'll be keeping an eye on this with you guys and let you know if I hear from Keccak outside of here.

About the next update, I don't have an official word, but I know the guys have been working on the 1.4 release, I'd expect that they're waiting for the end of limit phase to add a checkpoint to the code, just like at the end of the mint phase.

Feel free to post any calculations of this - I'm going to double check the numbers and see if anything stands out to me. It might also be worth taking a look at the code on github to see if it gives us any ideas.

Correct. Contacted via their website, email, and PM here.
Anyone got any payouts from them?

Hey chungenhung,

I've contacted zhpool and asked them to follow up on this with us or me directly - I'll let you know if I hear anything.

I've pointed out that we list them on the heavyco.in site, if they have gone quiet on their members it's not appropriate for us to list them there.

Hopefully they will get in touch and we can figure out what's happening.

anyone know how to contact zhpool?

Hey chungenhung,

I've seen you talking about zhpool - what's your experience? Have they gone silent on miners and not paying out shares?

A quick update for everyone - Heavychain.info has gotten in touch and let me know they're having some technical problems which they are working on. No immediate timeline, but they are working on getting the block explorer back up and have offered to share the explorer code if anyone else wants to add their own block explorer to the ecosystem.

Why is there a Razor coin (RZR) block explorer on heavychain.info link from OP?

Yeah I noticed that yesterday also.

Not sure what the deal is, I've pointed it out to Keccak.

If it was still being actively developed you wouldn't have to ask the devs for anything. The devs would be keeping you updated.
Hey man, I'm not sure what to tell you here. Let me make sure I'm not mis-representing myself - I'm not running Heavycoin so the devs don't report to me, Keccak and Nomisugi very much designed and develop HVC.

Keccak let's me know if there's anything big happening technically and will usually give me a heads up if there's a new version getting tested for release so I can share here.

I've shot a message to Keccak asking if there's any general info about next release etc I can share with you fine people, we'll see what comes back.

For your question about silence from the devs, for what ever it's worth, the last message I got from the devs was five days ago, the message was "How are you doing mate?" - we're very exciting people Tongue

And that is the second biggest problem with this coin behind silence from the dev(s).

I hope I'm right in saying that this is pointed toward the voting aspect of Heavycoin? If I'm correct I know you're not alone in thinking it's a poor idea and that's cool, I know other people feel the complete opposite.

From my own point of view, I bounce backwards and forwards about it - maybe it would have been safer to focus on the HVC algorithms and leave the voting aspect alone, maybe this is some crazy brilliant move - I have no idea, but I'm paying attention.

Here's what I don't get about this coin.  When I was buying at 300 Satoshi about 2 months ago I worked for weeks trying to find 170,000 coins.  There was simply no supply being sold on cryptsy.

Now, after being destroyed and below 30 Satoshi I see nearly daily huge dumps in excess of 50,000 coins per block.

So why weren't there any coins available to be bought at 300 and now at a mere 30 sats there are tons of coins to be bought?

Is this manipulation or has mining gotten easier so miners have a ton more heavy to dump.

What a bad time to not have any Bitcons.

Hey man!

Great questions - I'm of course biased so any suggestion from me that it's not manipulation is not worth a lot.

Maybe we've lost mining power so the hash is easier? It seems like even if mining a coin can make even a small profit there are miners willing to fill the void - I'm thoroughly un-educated in this area though, so any of this is just wild speculation.

Any miners who would like to share their insight?

Cheers,
M

Is Heavy still being actively developed?  Why has the price collapsed?

Is PoW over?  If so what was the finally max coin supply?

Thanks!

Hey Vlad2Vlad,

It is still being actively developed, I'll ask the devs to let us know how we're looking for the next release.

We're still in limit phase, so max coin supply is still being decided by votes.

Hey guys,

I'm as annoyed about this as I'm sure most of you guys are.

They've been dropping a lot of coins recently, most likely this is tied to their acquisition by moolah.io.

Moolah are making a play for institutional investors so I'm sure this is mintpal clearing out all of the smaller coins that don't have a world of hype around them (*cough* doge *cough*).

It sucks because I've been pointing anyone who is interested in Heavycoin to Mintpal - great interface, great reputation, I can only say they have been a really great exchange, and that is most likely why they were bought out.

Trying to find a positive, this does leave space open for the next private professional exchange to enter the space Mintpal is exiting, if that happens we'll be all over them to let HVC in.

Let me know any exchanges you guys think we should be targeting and let's try to turn this in to motivation for larger exchange acceptance.

So far BTer is on the list - any others, shout out, maybe it's time that we try to organise and push for more exchanges.

Cheers,
M

Thanks for your help Mumbly! I think you are singlehandedly keeping this coin valuable.

Thanks man.

To be a total weirdo and be completely honest - I'm trying to learn how to accept a compliment right now - so, thanks. I hoped to be more instrumental in you getting your coins back, but as long as you have them back we have the result we wanted Smiley

So random topics of discussion for everyone:

- Has anyone played around with block explorer software before? I'm trying to figure this out

- I've been looking in to the Weimar Republic and notgeld notes, it's interesting to look at these in regard to alt coins. To my mind, there seems to be a parallel in some regards.

Thoughts?

RESOLVED! Only took a month, but I figured it out on my own. If you are withdrawing BTC, make the request, and wait for no email to show up, as usual. On the 51BTC website, when you are looking at your withdrawals page, change your language to Chinese in the upper right hand corner. Then when the page changes to Chinese, try to remember where the "Recheck" link was next to your request. Click the Chinese characters for "Recheck" (重新验证) and you will finally receive your confirmation email.

Hey Dallski - great news and well done man. I know what it's like to have some coins locked up somewhere and not being sure you'll see them again, not a good feeling. Glad this worked out for you.

@asdf55 - I think you're right with the bouncing - I know block times vary but didn't put the two together. I'm going to point your messages out to the coin devs and see if they have any thoughts to share.

Cheers,
M

Reference for previous block changes
http://hvc.42tx.com/block/97200
http://hvc.42tx.com/block/97201

3600 blocks before that
http://hvc.42tx.com/block/93600
http://hvc.42tx.com/block/93601

3600 blocks before that
http://hvc.42tx.com/block/90000
http://hvc.42tx.com/block/90001

And also there is a bug in 42tx block explorer, it could not display some blocks. for example block change at 86400 and some block before and after that so we need a working block explorer asap.

Hey asdf55,

Thanks for the info, you are right, something is happening.

I've been watching the "when" number on my wallet tonight and it is bouncing up and down as far as I can see, not sure of the exact behaviour yet, but something is definitely happening. If anyone has any ideas where this is happening in the code, or just logically what may be going on I'm sure we'd all like to hear ideas.

RE: we need block explorers - I couldn't agree more.

I'm going to continue to look in to beefing up hvcstats.com to be a full block explorer, but if anyone has any ideas or information on how to get this done quickly, or interested in setting up their own block explorer, please do post here or PM me.

Cheers,
M

http://hvcstats.com/getnextrewardwhenstr
Returns an estimate of how long until the block reward votes will be tallied (human readable). -Says block change in 19.9 Hours

Not correct. As I mentioned in posts before, block reward will change at block 97200 because last block reward change was at block 93600. That is in ~ 80minutes... So your count is wrong and also wallet count is wrong...

Hey asdf55,

Apologies, I think I missed the meaning of your earlier posts.

Just to let you know, I'm not one of the coin devs but if we identify a legit issue with the wallet I can make sure they take a look at it.

http://hvcstats.com = basically a hosted version of the HVC wallet to expose the API, so if the problem exists with the wallet it'll show up there also.

Could you try explaining the problem and how you have found the potential fault? Just pure maths from the block time, or is there a third party reference we should be looking at?

I took a quick look at these two calls:
http://hvcstats.com/getnextrewardwhensec
http://hvcstats.com/getnextrewardwhenstr

The seconds that the first call returns seem to agree with the second call, so I don't believe that there is a problem converting the seconds to a human readable format.

But also (and I haven't check this in detail) when I looked at http://hvcstats.com/getnextrewardwhensec twice over five minutes it *seemed* like it gained 1000 seconds - not verified, just something I think I noticed.

Does anyone else have an opinion, or otherwise think they can see an issue? If we can identify that there is a problem and how exactly to see it I know it will save the devs a bunch of time debugging the code.

Cheers,
M

EDIT: try this:
- open http://hvcstats.com/getnextrewardwhensec
- wait five minutes, then refresh - it seems like it does add 1000 seconds - is there an explanation or is there a fault here?

Has anyone been able to withdraw BTC from the 51BTC exchange? I traded some HVC there at the end of June and have been trying unsuccessfully to withdraw my BTC from there since then. I get all their other emails, just not the withdrawal confirmation email. Support is no help, they just say to check my confirmation email (which I never get).

Hey folks,

I don't want to leave this just hanging out there - Dallski has contacted me and we're going to approach 51BTC together, I'll let Dallski get back to us all to confirm how this worked out.

Getdifficulty and blockcount mainly. Block reward would be great too.

blockcount:

Block reward:

I'm looking in to making it a full blown block explorer, but bare with me.
