Okay, I've rolled back to the previous version of MS Windows 10, which I also installed at the time i took the card to replace the thermal pads on it, and ever since the problems started.. since like this new "enhanced version " of windows is full of #$%^ and may cause such prbolems.

For now the rig is stable. I'll leave it for the night and check tomorrow. I will also provide screenshots to which Windows version NOT TO UPDATE Smiley

Peace.

@Luffy - I will most surely try HiveOS in the nearest future possible, I am just scared to make a mistake and overclock too much on it, haven't played with it yet and too comfy with Windows, but that was it Smiley I will switch all my rigs from Uncle Bill's rat poison to a Linux OS based one, fuck Windows and the comfort zone Smiley

Seems like I am going to install a new Windows , this rig is getting out of control... I've tried to re-install the drivers with DDU, the rig goes black for 5 minutes, then boots up normally with nVidia GeForce Experience on it and the nVidia control panel Cheesy Something feels fishy af with that Windows update I installed yesterday..

ROFL, I changed the riser board of the card that was crashing, swapped 2 GPUS and now the rig has gone totally mental.
Two other cards are failing, the rig crashes as soon as I start the miner... this is getting out of control.

I will maybe re-install windows, as when I restarted the rig the first time I took the card, it installed a "critical " upgrade, which took around 40 minutes and ever since then my Windows started acting like a fool..

Well, after about an hour of mining  the GPU had crashed with the same error, this time the miner continued mining with the rest 3 cards...
Trying with lower OC settings now and will replace the riser board in a few

I have removed another card, not the one that's currently crashing.

The card was working without issues until now ( I changed its thermal pads 1 month ago and ever since then it was working super fine)
The riser is fine, at least not showing any problems. All cables are done right.

I have uninstalled my drivers with DDU and installed the newest ones via the GeForce experience.

I read in a forum that this may happen due to increased OC - so I lowered from +850mhz on the memory to +800 and will keep an eye on it for now.

since yesterday I am experiecing a rather strange problem with my mining rig.

The rig is stable for a couple of minutes, then all of a sudden, one card just crashes and the phoenixminer shows the following error :

hwmc GPU1: unable to get temperature - GPU is lost (15)
hwmc GPU1: unable to get fan speed - GPU is lost (15)

The card in HWinfo is still shown, but in a bit more light-gray-ish colour, as if its grayed out and not in black, like the rest of the GPUs.

I am currently using Phoenixminer 5.5c and the latest drivers of nVidia(this was happening with the old ones too)

Can anyone help me Huh

Hello guys,

since yesterday I am experiecing a rather strange prboelm with my mining rig.

I stopped to blow and clean one of the cards and change the termal pads on it and after I plugged it back into the rig, one of the rest cards started crashing.

After changing the thermal pads on one of my rtx 3080s earlier today, the card has crashed 2 times until now.

OVerall the temps are :

Both times the rigs was running for about 2 hours, give or take some minutes, before these events happen. Has anyone experienced any of these so far?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Guys, please help me! I've run my newest rig stable for the past 2 months and recently i changed locations.
Ever since both my rigs are highly unstable and I see often times this as the main reason:

2021.02.27:00:51:31.558: GPU1 GPU1 search error: unknown error

Has anyone experienced such issues ? The cards mine normally with 70pw, -200 core and +700mem RTX3080

I also think to re-paste the 3080 OEM paste with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut one, which has 12.5w/mK and it does not conduct electicity, so its a safer option than the Conductonaut Cheesy anyone done that already?

Yes, I know it wouldn't burn out immediately , but wanted to know any specifics to this card - whether changing the pads has actually helped someone, the thickness of the pads etc etc

MSI Ventus 3x 3080 thermal pad replacement

Hello all,

I just got my Thermal grizzly 2mm thick 8w/mk thermal pads and I am about to change them on my MSI RTX 3080 Ventus 3x.

I wanted to know if anyone has already done that and if you have any tips? I searched throughout Youtube and Google for vids about this card, but could only find videos about the Gaming X Trio one.

Has anyone changed their thermal pads on this particular GPU? Has it helped in any way with throttling issues?

Re: ETH 1559 and 2.0: Update and Timelines
by

I'm fine with implementing EIP 1559 as long as they implement the 1057 too and eliminate the ASICs out of the game : https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-1057.

If the ETH devs could compensate us in that form, I would strongly support the 1559 EIP !

Is there a way we could make a petition to the DEVs anyway? Are they even listening to their community or they are a small group of centralized developers, implementing whatever suits their needs the best??

Me again.
I installed an RX580 armor 8GO in addition to my RX480 nitro + and my 2 RX480 blowers. My problem is that the 580 makes me crash radeon software which reinitializes the parameters and phoenix leaves again with the card at 0 from hsarate while the others are running.
I reinstalled clean drivers but the same.
I tested with the 580 but the same after a while it crashes.
I left them parameters -mt 1 and -rxboost 1, I removed them but same problem.
Do you have an idea ?
Thank you

hey man, try lowering the memory oc and see if it would stabilize

hello guys,

yesterday I went with the latest nVidia drivers, updated to 5.5c and changed the 6pin to SATA cables on my riser boards directly to power them by the 6pin cables from the PSU.
Before, when I was running with the SATA adapters and not the latest drivers, 5.4c miner I had a stable rig, runnin each RTX 3080 at 94.5mhs with 70PW and +700Mhs.

Now , one of the cards is hashing lower than expected - with -0.5mh, when the GPU is not connected via HDMI cable and with -1.5mhs when its streaming.
If I start playing and tweaking , a 2nd card starts losing MHs and starts crashing...

I looked that the miner and it seems that some of the cards are getting 8-10 degrees hotter than the others, and one card is running always @ 100% fan speed... If i try to lower the fan speed in MSI, the card throttles within minutes.

And all this was stable AF 2 days ago, while i was running the cards with the SATA Connectors...
May the problem be caused by the drivers or does it look like a hardware problem?

Thanks for your help!
Thermal pads degrading probably and you need to replace them with better...

thought so too, just ordered Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad 8, 100 х 100 х 2.0 mm, hope these would make the cards more stable!...
