Hey guys,

As some of you will be aware, recently there has been a significant increase in 51% attack attempts on a large amount of cryptocurrencies.

We have also experienced several attempts to attack the Linx blockchain. Over the past few weeks we have been working on urgent steps to protect the network and have now issued a critical wallet update containing some vital code changes in relation to how blocks are accepted.

The is a mandatory update - all older wallets still on the network will no longer function after Tuesday 18th December at 00:00:00 (Unix Epoch - 1545091200).

We realise that this is a very short window and understand that it may cause some inconvenience, but this is a mission critical update that needs to be implemented as fast as possible to help to protect the network from any future attacks.

All users and pools should update to the latest wallet immediately which is available at the link below.

https://github.com/linX-project/linX/releases/tag/v1.1.0.0

Unix users should git pull and build from source tag v1.1.0.0, Windows wallets are available now. We are currently working on the Mac OS dmg and will update you as soon as it's available.

Important: Please ensure that you backup your wallet first as a precaution before installing any updates.

Both pools are still up and running and all shares are safe, but expect to see occasional errors reported on the front end until the network has stabilised again on the new protocol.

Best regards,

Team Linx

*** ANNOUNCEMENT ***

We've just launched our new pool and it's open to everybody!

The new pool has a dedicated 1Gbps network connection, an insane amount of processing power, is chock full of RAM (32GB) and has dual SSD's for optimal data transfer speeds.

Sign up and get your mine on at :

https://linxpool.com

We'd also like to ask existing miners at pool.mylinx.io to please consider moving some of their hashrate over to the new pool to balance the work between servers. The new pool can handle a LOT more than the old one.

Cheers,

Team Linx!

Can't register, the email to unlock account is never sent.
Funnily enough I got reset password email, but account is still locked.

Sending PM

This seems to be an issue with outlook.com and hotmail.com accounts, I assume it was one of those?

If you let me know your username I'll unlock your account manually.

User name is "nazerim"

I used a gmail account though - details in PM

when you fix that problem ? because thats nod good... really. i stay at old pool

Haven't come across this before but it looks like this issue is due to the white lists of the major corporate email providers. As the domain has only recently been registered they may be blocking it from passing through their servers, or they simply have no record of it yet and are rejecting it. Try registering with any address that isn't gmail, hotmail or outlook and you will receive the email virtually instantly. Hopefully this should change once the domain name is a little more established.

P.S. Some Gmail addresses have managed to register but there was a long delay before the email came, outlook and hotmail seem to be filtering it completely at the moment.

Lol , nice try Buddy !

Listing on Cryptopia WAS 1 BTC on June 2017 ( 3000 USD est )

Time Changes , right ... BTC was worth June 2017 about 3K USD

afair remember it was 1 June 2017 you started LinX ?
and Cryptopia Exchange added fast LinX

talking about adding to Exchange NOW isnt the Point ....

Come on , nothing more to explain for your Investors ?

Did you see the words "As an example" in that sentence?

We have been listed on Cryptopia since last summer!

Maybe you don't want us to list Linx on any other exchanges, but I'm sure miners and people currently holding Linx would disagree with you.

Glen has a point here, the premine is currently worth $263'321 (according to cmc).
As now an additional devfee was necessary, me too wonders where or what for the premine has been spent so that you now need new ways of financing the operation.
I am absolutely aware that running a coin network with nodes, website, explorer and adding to exchanges costs some money but as far as my experience tells this should be more than nicely covered by the premine of 1 mio Linx so far.

Our goal for this project from the very start was never to be just another cryptocurrency that lives on exchanges with no other use.

We have bold plans, and the market access to achieve them, but some things cost money - there's just no getting around it. Press, PR, legal, security, advertising, merchandise, event sponsorship, incentives, the list goes on and on. Any project promising to deliver any of these things without some kind of pot to draw from is simply not going to deliver, they couldn't afford to.

Have you seen how much it costs to list a coin on an exchange now that multi-million dollar ICO's have completely changed the financial landscape?

As an example, just to list on Cryptopia right now will cost you over $200,000!

@Dev :

did you INFORM all your Users that you get 2.5 Coins per Block for free ?
AND your Premine ! ........

what would you do with that Coins ? Miners works for you and Get 50 Coins on Solo . you get 2.5 Coins ( 5% ) EVERY Block for nothing .

Thats DEVs Address :
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/linx/address.dws?XF7kCcs4woQD9WWnCHuN6SWPeUNK2fBspr.htm

Looking good to fill up his Bag

let me calculate a lil :
1min Blocktime est 1440 Coins per Day
seems 3600 LINX per Day for Dev for FREE !..... no Hardware , no Powersource, nothing but pure COins every Day
thats @0,25 USD = 900 Bucks on ONE Day ...

make your own Decisions !

Hi Glen,

Sorry to hear you feel that way, but just for clarification, the dev fee does not affect the miners block reward or any pool fees at all.

To date, this project has been entirely self financed (this is not an ICO).

Contrary to what you've stated, we're sure that everybody holding Linx is aware of our plans, and would want to know that the project is adequately funded going forward.

Due to your response, one can only assume that you are also adverse to DASH, ZCASH etc, any of the hundreds of ICO's in crypto space, or any coin that has more than a 1% premine?

FYI Even with this dev fee, the total amount of Linx we will have received by the year 2030, including our 1% premine, will still be less than 5% of the entire supply.

FOR ALL MINING POOLS

1) Please pull and build the latest version of the source (v1.0.0.5) https://github.com/linx-project/linX
This contains new checkpoints to ensure that you are on the correct chain.

2) Remove and resync the blockchain from scratch.

3) Follow the instructions HERE to configure your pool for Linx.

Once again, our apologies for the super short lead time on this and for any mining time you may have lost as a result. As mentioned previously, some issues with the block template were fixed after running some future tests on the blockchain. Unfortunately this left us with a very short amount of time to notify all pool operators.

The network is working perfectly, and once the above steps have been implemented pools will resume mining as normal.

Linx Block Explorer | Crypto ID Block Explorer

If you are a miner and you suspect that your pool operator isn't aware of these required updates, please point them to this post or ask them to get in touch with us via our website - https://mylinx.io

Many thanks,

Team Linx

Update for all the Linx miners.

Our new pool will be opening shortly, it has taken slightly longer than anticipated for the switch over, so we've reopened the current pool in the meantime for all existing members only. - pool.mylinx.io  Smiley

Update on the old pool - pool.mylinx.io

Most miners have now been paid out, but there are still a few that haven't reached their set payout amount yet.

We've brought the site back online so you can trigger these payments yourself :

1) Please log in to your account on the old pool - pool.mylinx.io - and check your balance.

2) If you haven't yet reached your configured payout amount you can do either of the following :

- edit your account and set your payout amount to 1 (you'll get paid automatically in the next run)

- create a manual cash out, the TX fee is slightly higher for this.

We'll leave the old pool up (although the stratum server isn't running so you can't mine on there) until everybody has cashed out.

For those waiting, we'll be launching the new pool very soon Smiley

Thanks again for being patient with us.

IMPORTANT - ALL LINX MINING POOLS PLEASE READ

Apologies for the short lead time on this, but an issue arose while we were running future tests on our own new mining pool which is about to be launched.

The issue was regarding the block template and has now been rectified in an updated version of the source (v1.0.0.4), but pool owners will need to update and rebuild their wallets and also make some changes to their pool code to avoid receiving rejected blocks.

Please read on...

The Linx Dev Fee begins at block #315001.

This does not reduce the block reward for miners at all, it is a separate transaction, but you will need to reconfigure your pools to handle the new block template. Any pools that fail to update their code will start seeing rejected blocks from #315001 onwards so please ensure you have read and understood what needs to be done below.

1) UPDATE YOUR WALLET...

First you need to compile and build the latest version of the source from our repo (v1.0.0.4).

https://github.com/linX-project/linX

You can either clone and build from scratch or git pull then rebuild.

You should do this right away. There is new code in place to handle the the block template switch over automatically.
If you don't update your daemon you will start to receive rejected blocks when the dev fee kicks in.

2) UPDATE YOUR POOL SOFTWARE AND CONFIG FILES...

Please see the following repo for all the instructions you need, it's a very simple process, just a couple of changes to be made.

https://github.com/linX-project/linx-unomp-pool-settings

IMPORTANT : Do not try to make these changes BEFORE block #315001

If you try to implement these changes before you will see rejected blocks.
These changes should only be applied once the blockchain has reached block #315001

Users do not need to update their wallets, this is only a fix for the pools, but there will be new releases of the latest wallets shortly if you do wish to upgrade.

Cheers,

Team Linx
