Re: [ANN] Litecoin [LTC] X11 hardfork at block 564,480

I think it is good to discuss this in detail and see if a significant enough portion of the community is interested.  I know I could personally get a fair share of miners to back this (fair share meaning not near enough to matter.)  At the same time companies that are invested in ASICS and people who have bought them are going to probably spend a fair deal of coin going as far as to pay off the development team not to alter it.

You say you want the developers help, but I see no mention of this on the litecoin talk forums?  There is a whole discussion about going to N-factor that has basically be let to die.

This is going to involve a great deal of community support and discussion.  You will need to be open to changing your initial ideas and finding some compromise. (Perhaps with enough discussion a compromise can be found that satisfies both GPU miners to keep it decentralized and ASIC miners to keep the network robust?  Honestly, this is going to require some time and work.)  As a result I find it foolish to declare a block to "fork" this.

I do believe if enough effort and conversation happens there can be enough improvement to the litecoins that maybe we can make this coin serious enough to be a BTC competitor; but someone is going to have to garner support and dedicate a ton of time.  And you are going to need some support from the development staff, even if you move forward without their blessing.

Either way, good to see a conversation started.  In my opinion this has a long ways to go before it will be a success.  We will see how much work you and the community are willing to put in to this.  If you are serious, you might want to kiss your life goodbye for a while Cheesy Wink  Even if just from keeping the conversation going and promoting.

Anyway, I look forward to hearing your plans in more detail; and I strongly recommend that we look for some compromise between ASICs and decentralization if this is serious.

Cex.io - Day 2 worth of problem

The Cex.io site had issues yesterday with deposites for well over 12 hours.  They resolved them for a short bit before they started having problems again.  Users are waiting for hours with their coins just in limbo.

Be Careful before you send coin there. Make sure this issue is resolved first.  This is a repeating issue and is becoming a problem for many on the site.  They also put up no warnings on their site before you send your coin that the system is down.

Just giving everyone a heads up.

Cex.io Problems?

Not sure where this should be posted, been a while since I've been here.  Regardless, move it if needed and let me know.

I digress, Cex.io seems to have issues for the last solid 12 hours with money users deposited them not having it credited to their accounts.  Emails have been pretty standard, when they respond, regards to yes there is a problem, no ETA about it being fixed.   There has been other technical issues over the last few days I've checked it out. Pool has seemed to be ok?

Take it however you want, but I would do a small deposit and make sure your money transfers before you send it over there.  Just a heads up.

Salutations - My interest in BTC

Salutations fellow bitcoiners, miners, etc:

I should have signed up on this forum a while ago.  Been reading here and there for quite a spell.  Recently got more active in BTC.  Why I am interested in BTC is not for the value in cash, not to make money, not really conventional at all.  Instead, I am going to use them for a research study regarding subjective value differences through different interfaces.  That's about all I can openly say at this point.  I am mining them so that I have some available for the study.  I will most likely end up purchasing quite a few.

Feel free to message me anything.  Thank you everyone for your wonderful posts.  This forum has answered many questions I have had.

If anyone has any suggestions in regards to UX or research please feel free to forward it on.  Fair warning, I may use them for my master's thesis. Smiley
